  1. I can't see them retiring batman. The rest of DC, though? When's the last time we had a set without batman that wasn't based on a movie, 2018? I can't see them cancelling batman sets. DC might not be as popular as Marvel, but Batman is still pretty much tied with Spider-Man for the most popular superhero ever. Everyone knows Batman, and I think there will always be something batman on shelves, even if just a few sets.
  2. The issue is, her comic costume is maybe a bit risqué for lego, and her netflix costume, while something they'd probably rather make in terms of the actual design, has the disadvantage of coming directly from an 18+ show. If they had to do an 18+ set just to get comic versions of DD and Punisher, I don't think we'll see Electra unless she shows up in a newly pg-13 daredevil season 4/soft reboot. Even then I'm worried we won't see anything for daredevil himself resembling his film suit. Say season 4/reboot is pg-13/tv-14/whatever. Lego might be too cautious about having that suit show up in a set due to the previous seasons being R/TV-MA. You guys didn't really believe in Hulk's tacos being a set, did you? I get that it wasn't the only thing in the set, but still, that was pretty clearly fake.
  3. I'm drooling at how good this model looks. It looks so cool!
  4. No, it's his clone commander according to some of the other appearances of the legion.
  5. It is weird how often the tank appears in connection to TCW. I can think of at least 3 merch for it that had it as part of TCW, and I don’t think it was ever supposed to be in the show. although I do think this is the legends design. The canon one is much shorter and stockier in the cockpit. Yes. CMFs use a slightly different plastic, and are almost higher quality in terms of print and molding than standard figures, with almost all of them having dual molding or arm/side leg printing and new molds nowadays. Look at the marvel CMF: 9/12 of them have arm printing, whereas it’s a rarity for standard figures. Even then, the detailing is different. A good quality of print example is between the 2021 system set comic and CMF “zombie hunter” spideys. Standard system one has consistent issues with the red-on-blue arm print, which I’ve never seen reported on the CMF one.
  6. At least the catalogue leaks gave you a good angle, that first leak was of an opened-up set at a nearly horizontal angle. No one displays sets with all the hatches open and at eye level like that. Found the leaked image of the box for the tank. Looks fine, sort of like this year's Imperial Armored Marauder in terms of being a medium sized ground vehicle that's also a pseudo battle pack. Awesome Mace, and though I have no interest in the non-canon purple clones, they're pretty detailed and good figures. The tank itself is fine. Not as terrible as it was made out to be. Looking at the canon model (from battlefront 2017) it's too tall, but given that the troopers are non-canon I'm assuming it's the legends version, in which case it's more accurate.
  7. His CW gauntlets I’m out of town and on mobile right now so I’ll have to take you guys’ word for it on the tank, but cool that it’s not as bad as people thought.
  8. I forget how far in advance these sets are made, but with a set this big it’s possible it could be planned for March. It also could be the biennial Amazon exclusive, since the price matches. Would explain why they don’t know which summer slot it would be in too, the only thing is those tend to be revealed early on. that’s a fair point about the duel. They’ve definitely been hyping up the duel and releasing merch for vader and obi-wan, but you’re right that there’s been nothing about the circumstances except for the investor day concept art of them on that scaffolding stuff. alright I’m gonna do the “wave for every movie/show/etc”. My plan is to do everything in chronological order, with a CMF for each trilogy, one CMF for the animated shows, one for the live action shows, and one for the canon games. I’ll do TPM to start it off: microfighters: republic cruiser ($9.99): obi-wan kenobi trade federation ship ($9.99): nute gunrey Gungan vs AAT ($19.99): AAT and a brick built version of the shield generator animal. Comes with Tarpals and OOM-9. battle packs: trade federation droids ($14.99): 4x b1 battle droid, 1x droid pilot, 1x security droid. Comes with a STAP and 2 droidikas. naboo’s defenders ($14.99): 2 gungan soldiers and 2 Naboo security officers. Builds are a brick-built Kaadu and a tiny bit of Theed terrain. duel: duel on Tatooine ($19.99): moisture vaporator on some terrain with Maul’s speeder like the 1999 set. Comes with Maul (hood) and Qui-Gon. Vulture droid ($19.99): a more accurately sized vulture droid than the large 2014 one. Comes with 2x b1 battle droids and Padme (purple outfit) saving the queen ($29.99): The bit of Theed buildings with the bridge they jump off of. Comes with Obi-Wan, queen amidala, and 2x battle droids. Naboo Starfighter ($39.99): Naboo fighter in the style of the 2021 x-wing. Comes with young anakin, r2-d2, a Naboo pilot, and Captain Panaka. anakin vs sebulba’s podracers ($69.99): both podracers with Anakin, Sebulba, 2x pit droid, Shmi, Watto, and Ben Quadrinaros. Battle for Naboo ($79.99): a flash speeder, AAT, and a bit of a Theed building. Comes with 2x naboo security, Captain Panaka, Qui-Gon, 2x b1 battle droids, and OOM-9. MTT ($159.99): massive MTT with 24 battle droids and 2x droid pilots. Quotes: The saga begins ($39.99): “the negotiations were short”. the doorway and hall Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan fight through, comes with them and 4x battle droids. Duel of the Fates ($69.99): ”at last we will reveal ourselves to the Jedi”. The catwalks and reactor pit with Maul, Qui-gon, and Obi-Wan UCS: UCS Naboo starfighter ($199.99): comes with R2 (back printing, 3rd leg) and Child Anakin (midi legs, new helmet mold).
  9. don’t appreciate being called a bootlicker, but the mods have said that discussion is done, so it’s done this is what I assume happened. I can’t see any reason that they’d be lying and nefariously scheming with the Jurassic team to make qoute sets, but the quotes themselves can’t be a coincidence. I’m guessing they both were independently developing their respective sets, and that’s when someone came up with the idea to tie them together with the quotes. i hope we get a full wave description soon, it’d be nice to know how badly my wallet is damaged this year. I gotta get that rumored BD-1 statue set.
  10. I think this is pretty accurate (though the AT-TE isn’t confirmed by reliable sources to be coming this wave, IIRC Promobricks said they knew one was in development but not it’s release date, added it to the summer 2022 sets list, and then removed it, so something’s going on there). good predictions all around, though I wonder if that cheaper Obi wan set will be him vs Vader. Though with how much trailer time the new inquisitor got (I believe it’s third sister/reva. Why is she called by her name? Why doesn’t she have a circle lightsaber and instead a normal one? I don’t know, maybe the decision was made the same day they made the grand inquisitor look like an egg.), she might feature in both sets.
  11. This is ridiculous. I'm sorry, but it is. Where to start? The designers do not get to choose what sets get made. IIRC that's up to lego and lucasfilm, the designers don't have free rein. And they have no incentive to lie and say the sets were a success if they weren't. We've seen lego kill failing lines before, such as with the action battles, or killing the constraction line (obligatory bring back bionicle) when some sets for it were so far into production that we had the preliminary images. If the meditation chamber flopped hard enough, they wouldn't be making these, because they'd have evidence it would be financially unwise to do so. You also have absolutely 0 evidence that the chamber was "beaten" by CW and Mando sets (also, why single out those, why not just the system sets in general? I've been seeing the Mandalorian fighter on sale a lot, and while that's not concrete evidence either it's certainly better than "the people I interact with on the internet say this set is better"). And the amount of vitriol is kind of funny as well. Why do you only consider CW and Mando sets as being for SW and lego fans? Why do other SW sets like the dioramas or even just skywalker saga sets not count for "SW and lego fans"? And yes, of course these dioramas are for older fans (hence the 18+ labeling). The first rounds are OT because, as has been well established, the OT sets tend to sell the best. Once they have sales figures for the sets succeeding, they bring in ones from other properties, such as this year's helmet wave being majority Mandalorian-based. As for "rarely" listening to fans.... a specific set was produced literally because fans spammed lego's social media accounts to make it. As for overpriced sets being evidence that they don't listen to fans...this is wrong both ways. Firstly, no company is going to just start lowering prices for the exact same products because some fans complained unless the sales actually slow. That's absurd. Secondly, they literally started producing cheaper versions of iconic ships last year because the prices were getting too high.
  12. The only one that really seems terrible is the trash compactor to me. With all the 1x1s Yoda's hut's superb PPP isn't the best indicator of quality, but for the size/volume it's not terrible either. The trench run seems to be the best price, though. No. There's a few ways you can look at this. The first is that a lot of collectors like having exclusive figures. A super-detailed C-3PO is a lot cooler if it's not appearing in every other set. I personally don't care about that, but I understand why people would. The second is that if you put the most possible details on every figure in every set they show up in, the price will definately go up. So saving them for some of the more expensive sets seems fine to me. It'd be different if the actual characters or versions were exclusive to high-value sets, but I have no problem with them saving some side leg printing for the premium sets when there's already perfectly fine C-3POs on shelves.
  13. Assumably they have sales figures. Lego is pretty tight-lipped about them to the public but I can't imagine they wouldn't even tell the designers how the sets are selling.
  14. And C-3PO's got arm printing, that's nice to see! This style of thinking really gets on my nerves, especially when it's for something as absurd as lego not making the minifigure/set/whatever that you want. Isn't it a better figure with the dual molded arms? This is like if pilot Luke got dual molded boots in a set this year, and people acted like it's a "slap in the face" that it wasn't in the AT-AT. And honestly, "slap in the face"? "tone-deaf?" It's plastic toys, man, it's not worth getting this self-indignantly upset over. I'll wait for better images of the tank, but I'm torn. The purple clones (people are calling them lean troopers, thanos troopers, grimace troopers, etc) are fine, though canon ones would have been better IMO. Mace looks awesome though. Not a fan of the tank itself, though, so I might not get the set. I'll reserve judgement until we see better images, but it seems like a downgrade from the 2017 and even 2008 models. On the other hand, that x-wing canopy is INSPIRED.
  15. Looks amazing! I was always upset that there weren't more resistance sets. Terrible show, but incredible ship designs.
  16. Looking at that image, he does, unless his torso's just on backwards (which to be fair, they have done stuff like that before.) I echo the sentiment that I hope he comes in a smaller set, as it is a really awesome figure. The trash compactor as a whole still baffles me. The play feature is nice, but it's a play feature. Why wasn't this a system set, then? Wouldn't that have made more sense than a diorama?
  17. I think you misread it, he's claiming only the prequel UCS sets don't have exclusive figs (which is still wrong) uhhhhhhhh.....you do realize Mace still hasn't shown up in another set? And that it took 4 months between the CC in the gunship and his appearance in another set? Most figs are going to be "exclusive" upon release, and then it takes a few months to a year to get them in another set at a lower price.
  18. They've made it a bit better recently by reducing the upgrade times, now it's more like every 2 and a half weeks. Don't forget that you'll have the option to receive every module at once by forking over every green brick you currently own. Thanks! I don't believe they have, though a board game would also make sense. The game definately has some settlers of catan type mechanics. I'm gonna be that guy and say I never thought clash royale was better (though I have played clash royale in the past, it's fun, but not as strategic.) Plus, in terms of a lego set, the focus would be more on the characters than the builds. My first draft of this set had nine minifigures and lego rejected it for being a "battle pack"...sure....those 1,220 pieces used for the builds pale in comparison to the 40 or so used for the figs... Anyway, not sure why it's popular now, but the fact that it's been consistently popular was my inspiration for making the set. Lots of games get super popular upon release, but are culturally dead too fast for lego to develop and release a set in time. I think the record's still 9 months from lego seeing a thing to releasing a set of it, for a baby yoda set?
  19. And Yoda's hut has 1000 at $10 cheaper. Piece count isn't an ironclad indicator of price, but 200 parts less and $10 more expensive for sets in the same subtheme is rough, especially since it's not like either of them have massive parts or a ton of tiny parts I agree, but you also just reminded me that I'm displaying 2015 rebels style troopers alongside the 2016-2018 troopers and even the 2019-present ones with new helmets
  20. They really are, best of luck with the retrofitting!
  21. Ew, it even looks to have the same base size, if not smaller, as the trench run, and yet it's $20 more? The yoda hut has some depth to it, the trash compactor doesn't even look good. I'm confident in saying this will sell the worst out of the three. What's sad is that not only would a trash compactor have made an awesome set as a system scale playset, but there are SO MANY great potential diorama sets, even if they want to start with the OT to be careful. Luke's Hut, with him standing looking at the sunset. The endor celebration, the ROTJ moment when he's about to walk the plank, the final duel, the wampa cave, Vader entering the tantive, the yavin celebration, the yavin pilot briefing room, vader vs obi-wan, the carbon freezing chamber, Luke meeting Obi-wan, Han vs Greedo, the speeder chase, the death star 2 trench run with the falcon, the asteroid field, i mean c'mon, who looked at this and thought it was the best choice and best design?
  22. very detailed build, I'll be sure to support! Here's my submission, based on the game "clash of clans". I'd love it if you would support it!
  23. Here's my lego ideas, submission, for the video game clash of clans! The way it works is parts are included to "upgrade" each building to levels 2 and 3 like in the game. Let me know what you think, and if you would like to, please support my project on lego ideas so we can make this happen!
  24. Agh, my wallet! I only anticipated buying dagobah (and after seeing these images, no way I don't buy it, it looks incredible. The trench run is much nicer than I thought it would be, but I'm still not sold. I don't like how it spills over onto the black plate, and some other minor aesthetic choices. Great set, just not completely for me.
  25. He hasn't visited the site in nearly a year, man. You might be out of luck.
