What's your recent LEGO Star Wars Purchase?
Mandalorianknight replied to KimT's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I had Dagobah, 2 snowtrooper battle packs, and the TX-130 in my cart when I got bumped to the waiting room just 3 minutes before the promos go live. If I miss out, I'm gonna be ticked. -

Completely agree. Part of me wants P2 Cody but the other part of me thinks him being in a $900 UCS Venator or something would be the funniest thing ever. This is one of the few opportunities where I get to annoyingly go "I toooold you sooooo!" (which is good for me because right now I have the "very unlikely to be real" fighter tank in my bag to purchase when the promos go live). I said from the beginning that a UCS gunship would not have the figures people expected it to, not be minifig scale, and lower the chances of a system one anytime soon, and two of those at least were proven correct. I completely agree. And you know some people will still complain lego doesn't listen to the fans because we don't have captain lock or commander doom or whoever even once cody comes out. I mean, look at SW in general. People begged and whined and demanded more prequel/expanded universe cameos in SW, and now that we saw it in mando, if you go on reddit everyone's talking about how they hope they don't put a ton of cameos in kenobi/andor/etc. Same thing's happening with marvel, where DS2 conversation has gone from demanding that everyone and their mother be included in the film to hoping there's not many cameos to distract from the plot. No matter what decision you make, people will be upset, so you have to make a decision and stick to it. I got my order ready 15 minutes before the promos went live in my country and got kicked to the waiting room with 3 minutes left before they did. Now it's 5 minutes past and I'm stuck there on my phone and computer, how do I get into the actual shop before everything sells out? EDIT: Got it. Had to order a mando brickheadz as my order was technically only $159.96 (c'mon, really?), but I snagged all 3 promos. -

Brick Fanatics spoke with some designers, who said that gunship feedback made them change their mind on exclusive figures. At this point, they're listening to the fans too much. Whatever decision they make, people are going to whine about it, no need to constantly flip-flop. -
DC Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion
Mandalorianknight replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Dude, I think the movie itself isn't a safe bet anymore, the lead actor's been arrested. Haha, had me a little excited for a minute that there was a new set or something. Of course, I meant the actual superman, Clark Kent. (Also, is that guy even remotely known? I mean, if we're doing superman variants, we haven't had mulletman, a non-comic con black suit superman, a Calvin Ellis, his son, etc) Thanks! I'll either do that (only the official parts though), or get the Dawn of Justice one. -

Good to know! I'd imagine the kenobi sets, since they're really hyping kenobi and the kenobi/celebration connection to the point of delaying the show a few days to let people at Celebration see it first. If we're lucky, they'll show off the other sets with Kenobi in them, maybe the whole wave, but I'm keeping my expectations to just the sets based on the show. -

DC Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion
Mandalorianknight replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
I think the $100 technic batmobile fills the collector slot, at least for now. I do think we'll continue to get Batman sets, as Batman still sells, but it is sad to see how little we get for other themes. I really only collect a bit of Batman as far as DC goes, but I want a superman figure, and we haven't had one for four years. I'm not asking for the full snyder cut figures (which is pretty unlikely now even if the pipe dream of further snyder films happens, since Ezra Miller he'd rather be more of a reverse flash IRL, so I doubt we'll see a snyder flash figure ever again), or a wave of TDK sets, but it doesn't seem unreasonable to hope that there's a Superman, Wonder Woman, and Robin on shelves at least once every 2 years, right? And yet it's been 4 years since the last superman, 2 each for Wonder Woman and Robin (more if you wanted an actual wonder woman and not the eagle one), with no sign of new ones on the horizon. -

I've literally got a list set up in case stuff goes out of stock. The way I see it, if I'm already spending $120, I might as well bump it up to the GWP since it'll be worth more than the $60 of extra sets I buy. I'm planning on getting a clone or hoth pack, a microfighter (preferably another razor crest, my beskar mando collection is rivaling my farmboy luke one now), and either the tank or marauder. -

This is really something special. Your own modifications are good of course, but the amount of time it must have taken to compile all this information is an achievement in itself. This is a great museum exhibit style post.

yeah it disappeared a week or so ago. might be delayed, since apparently the big Doctor Strange 2 set was delayed just now too. If that's the case (and even if it's not I guess) lego really needs to get a handle on this. We're reaching double digits of delayed or cancelled sets for the past 6 months alone. Pretty sure. promobricks has apparently said a kaminoan is in it, so it's probably a delta-7. I don't think they'd mistake a pau'un. And old ben, right? I feel like that's in the top 2 for kenobi appearances and all. I guess you could count mos eisley. I doubt it's intentional, but it is pretty cool nontheless that Obi-wan will probably be in 4 sets this summer (though it's possible he wouldn't be in the AT-TE, I guess) As for the spoiler, -
Minecraft 2022- Rumors and Discussion
Mandalorianknight replied to NoOneOfImportance's topic in LEGO Licensed
Good point, though the way the set numbers are spread makes me think "llama" is probably still minecraft. I do agree that the other options are unlikely. Vidiyo is dead, and as much as I like Emperor's new groove, they'd put Kronk or the main guy in there too. -

Not that much further down, it's barely halfway to Cal's elbow, and that's him fully extended. That'd be like yoda stretching himself out and flinging his arms over his head. Here are some images of how small BD is, and just imagine Yoda (who is canonically the same size as todo), in these images, who'd be between a third and a half the size of cal if he's 2ft 2". EDIT: Looking at more images, I think i've got it figured out. If you extended BD-1's legs to have them straight, he'd be near yoda's height. But his legs aren't supposed to be straight. His "crouch" is his default position. The lego version, where he's crouching, has him up to Djin's waist, which I feel like kind of proves my "all the droids are bigger than they're supposed to be, and therefore Todo would be fine brick-built since he's the same size as yoda" position. And here's a photoshop of yoda on Cal's back, roughly the size of BD, with a 2ish foot tall yoda floating ominously to the left as he plans to murder Cal so his whole "luke is the last living jedi after I die" thing stands true. Anyway, we've gotten very off-topic, but I feel that my case of: BD-1 is substantially smaller than yoda/todo-> A brick-build todo is not implausible and I don't know why everyone is vehemently opposed to it rests pretty solidly. -

Yup, I was thinking of kilometers to meters I think. But still, BD-1 sits on cal's shoulder, and extending his neck out, his head reaches to around the top of Cal's head. You'd have to trash-compact yoda to do that. So I'm thinking the 3d modelers might be a tad off. Yoda definately does not fit here: I will photoshop yoda here momentarily -

Forgive me if I'm doing my math wrong, EDIT: YES I WAS but: 60-70cm is 1/10th of .66m, meaning BD-1 is about a 10th the height of yoda/todo. And if you've ever played fallen order, BD-1 sits on cal's shoulder, and extending his neck out, his head reaches to around the top of Cal's head. You'd have to trash-compact yoda to do that. Plus, R2, D-0, BB-8, and countless others are sized up from their actual versions. This really wouldn't be inconsistent at all, I'm not sure why everyone is so opposed to the concept of a brick-built todo. -

I think BD-1's smaller size makes it fine for him to be molded but not todo (again, todo and yoda are the same size). Although it is ironic that Todo, who is supposed to be a common utility droid, only appears once, but we've seen multiple of BD-1, a tiny droid that's got: A motor powerful enough to zip itself and an adult male human up a 45 degree angled cable. The ability to override all imperial droids jedi-like agility Some sort of tardis-like quality, given the size of the stim canisters it carries and the fact it can hold 10 at once. amnesia, despite being a robot. (In addition to the mapping, recordings, and all that.) -

Huh, I must have gotten that confused. The gunship was just speculation from them, right? I thought it was but now I'm not sure. Wookiepedia lists him at the exact same height as yoda, .66 meters. Looking up "lego Todo-360" brings up quite a few mocs, including a quite good one by Somchai Ud, that are all about as tall as the yoda figure. The Somchai one uses antenna for the arms and 1x1 clips with studs underneath for the legs, which I think works pretty well. The only thing it's missing is a good face, which they could do pretty easily with a print or even sticker. I'm not saying they won't do a molded Todo, because I have 0 insider information, I just think that they really can do it if they wanted to. -
Wishlist: Future Star Wars Sets and Minifigures
Mandalorianknight replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I'm still surprised we haven't gotten one of these again, but considering Dex would require a new mold, I don't know if they'd do that, since he's just tangentially related to the set. The dioramas give us a chance for a dex's diner, anyway. And luckily with the helmets we've seen that they'll branch out into other parts of SW if their starting OT sets sell well for a particular set type. OT CMF to cap off the trilogy, then I move to the sequels. 1. Rebel Fleet Trooper (new helmet mold with antenna, dual molded LBG/black legs): Blaster. 2. C-3PO (dual-molded silver leg, sand printing across figure): R2-D2 comes with him. 3. Snaggletooth (red outfit, medium legs): Blaster pistol, drink 4. Moff Tarkin (Dual molded legs): Blaster Pistol 5. Jek Porkins: blaster pistol, chair 6. AT-AT pilot (printed arms, dual molded legs, uses LBG instead of sand blue): blaster, Vader hologram 7. Bossk (Dual molded arms and legs): brick-built Relby blaster rifle 8. R-3PO: command center holotable build 9. Dengar (arm printing): Blaster rifle, IG-88. 10. Stormtrooper mk ll (arm printing, green lenses on helmet): blaster 11. Luke Skywalker (Endor): Poncho, lightsaber 12. Leia (Boushh): 1x1 round tile with thermal detonator print, staff. 13. Lando Calrissian (skiff guard): spare hair piece, halbeard. 14. Scout trooper (arm printing, dual molded legs): Blaster pistol 15. Vader (lightning damage printing): lightsaber 16. Force Ghost Obi-Wan (aqua torso, hips, and hands, transparent head, legs, arms, and hair): lightsaber (aqua hilt) -

No kaminoans have been confirmed for the starfighter. Promobricks made clear that their thought of a kaminoan in the delta 7 was pure speculation. The recent stuff about the justifier is the first time a source has "confirmed" kaminoans as far as I can tell. Yeah, I suppose they would do that. I'd prefer a brick-built one, as he's roughly the size of a 13 year old female clone, but they do like their molded droids with a single stud connection at the bottom, and i've long since resigned that everyone else prefers molded creatures and droids to brick-built ones. -

Yeah. Account's completely gone. What really irks me is that people in the comments of his posts actually seemed to believe him. Not neccesarily. Lego definately isn't stingy on new molds for LSW, I'm sure a $160 set with only 1000-ish pieces could have 2 new molds. Hypothetically, they could also put a stud connection on the top of the kaminoan head mold and use an existing mohawk piece for lama su. Wouldn't be perfect, but it's an option they could take. -

Eh, alright. That actually makes a bit of sense, those are both desirable characters, and having more figures than just Bane and Todo will definately make it a bit more worth it (though that set still better have some MASSIVE parts if it's $160 for around 1000 pcs). I do hope there's a kamionan in the delta-7, though. -

I believe the justifier and Delta-7 were also rumored by promobricks, and IIRC the kenobi ones were known as kenobi, but not the specific contents. This Wagner site seems to be just confirming stuff that's already leaked or been rumored. Interestingly this site supposedly has the great pyramid set on it, which was only "leaked" by.... dun dun dun.... codyleaks. So either he's just been mooching off this site, it's just a coincidence that both he and wagner's had the pyramid, or he's somehow gotten real insider information after a ton of previous fake leaks (like cody being the May the Fourth Promo...so I doubt it's that third one.) -

The May 4th sets have been $199.99 for ages now, so I assume it's just that given the size of the curved bricks and the $200 price, it ended up being a bit too small. If they felt the need to keep the $200 price, I wish they'd have put like a to-scale R2 or more figures or something, but as-is, it's not terrible.
