  1. I guess I should have been more specific -- I too am disappointed that the minifigure isn't brand new, but in a sense I'm relieved that I won't have to have it. The May the 4th sale will probably put a big dent in my bank account as it is. Hopefully we can look forward to a truly unique Marvel minifig soon.
  2. Yeah, as someone who used to collect Star Wars action figures quite extensively, it's a really cool nod that Lego's done. I can at least appreciate it for that fact.
  3. I'm glad this is the exclusive polybag, because I can definitely pass on it. The minifigure isn't even exclusive.
  4. That's pretty obvious from looking at the calendar. Little_russian_AFOL was probably interesting in knowing what the specific details are, i.e. if you have to be a kid or not. It also looks like there might be a brand new printed element included.
  5. I'm a little disappointed that we're not getting an all-new character -- didn't we just get a new Hoth Han in 7879? This version does look a lot better, but still...
  6. ^ We'll be seeing quite a bit of Laketown in the second movie, actually. The live preview event last week showed quite a bit of the sets, actors, scenes being filmed, etc.
  7. The bonus Lego featurette is basically an extended version of the behind-the-scenes videos Lego has put online. A few of the designers speak about the experience of designing the sets, giving a glimpse at the progression of creating certain characters like the Goblin King. The filming takes place in a studio that appears to be modeled after Bag End, which is quite cool and very well constructed. The entire featurette is roughly 9 minutes in length, if I recall correctly. Hopefully that helps!
  8. ^ No, nothing significant really - just a tongue-in-cheek remark from the "narrator" of the featurette about being excited for sets that are to come.
  9. I would personally go with another Warg Attack. You get Wargs, orcs, and tons of great tree elements!
  10. Hey, Djordje! Yes, that is the featurette - you guys did a great job! I enjoyed the little "tease" at the end for sets from The Desolation of Smaug.
  11. It's going to be a very expensive year, indeed. Every single one of the Star Wars sets is on my to-buy list.
  12. The bonus material is simply the 10 production diary videos that have been published online. There's also a brief featurette on filming in New Zealand, which is basically just a promotional item for New Zealand tourism. The Lego documentary is a 9-minute featurette that's very similar to the ones that are already posted on Lego.com.
  13. ^ Your post is a bit confusing. Are you saying that you believe Lego will create a new mold, or that they'll go with the existing one based on the pose?
  14. ^ Every other day! You must live next to a sawdust factory. I also collect both, although I mainly stick to System-scale sets. I've restricted myself to only purchasing UCS sets that include minifigures, so I currently own the Millennium Falcon, Death Star, Imperial Shuttle, and Super Star Destroyer.
  15. I certainly hope that a set of Beorn's house is on the way. It's a fairly important location in the book (if I remember right, the company spends 1-2 whole chapters there), and I'm sure it will be beautifully designed in the film.
  16. ^ That looks pretty great! I can definitely see Lego using that hair piece for an Ewok village Leia.
  17. I haven't heard anything about this...not even rumors. So for the time being I'd definitely say 'no'. But you do have a good point about it possibly reinforcing the LotR theme. I'm all for anything that would keep Lego making sets for longer.
  18. Fantastic work!! I love all the different accessories you've included.
  19. Fantastic work, WetWired!! I just supported the project.
  20. I think it's a pretty safe bet that it won't. Dogpound and Fishface are the Bebop and Rocksteady of the new show.
  21. I'm thinking that a late summer release for Orthanc is likely; but again, that's just my guess. I really hope we hear some more official confirmation soon.
  22. Wow, fantastic job!!
  23. Just as a side note to the Clone Wars discussion, I'd encourage anyone who feels so inclined to tweet Disney (@disney) with the hashtag #savetheclonewars in support of the show. This especially holds true if you're a fan of the sets and want to see Lego release what they might have coming down the pipeline. I'm guessing that we'll see Clone Wars sets through the rest of this year, but nothing beyond that since the show is no more...
  24. ^ I feel exactly the same way. Exactly. It's maddening and disheartening what Disney is doing. The prequels weren't perfect, but The Clone Wars are a huge improvement over them - they even make the prequel films better, in my eyes. If it's true that Disney is indeed trying to distance themselves from all things prequel-related, I'll be pretty angry.
