  1. ^ I believe Rivendell is the same price as the Mirkwood Spiders set.
  2. Awesome, thanks GRogall!!! What a great May the 4th surprise!
  3. I think the best thing for Lego to do is not to try recreating the whole of Minas Tirith as a set, but release 2-3 sections of it.
  4. The B-Wing is now SOLD OUT on S@H. Boy, that was quick!
  5. Just ordered the B-Wing from Lego S@H for $99.98!! Fantastic deal!
  6. I'll bet a Lothlorien set is pretty likely. Wasn't it one of the in-game set designs, along with Rivendell? And the Rivendell set is pretty much an exact copy of what was in the game. I wish I had pictures to reference what I'm talking about, but I remember seeing them a few months ago.
  7. I really doubt it. Summer wave sets generally don't start appearing until June/July.
  8. It'll be an expensive (but so worth it!) summer indeed. I'm planning on picking up each of the LOTR sets, including two Black Gate sets.
  9. I completely agree. This will be a pass for me, unless I find it at clearance prices.
  10. Hm...I'd like to know if this is true or not. Now would be a great time to order too, with the Free Shipping deal going on. Though I'd probably wait until mid-May to get the Iron Man polybag...
  11. That's what AFOLs do best! The scale doesn't bother me too badly, but I agree with Deathleech that more articulation would have been very welcome.
  12. ^ I agree. As iconic as Smaug's treasure hord is, it doesn't make a lot of sense as a set. A Battle of Laketown set would give options for many more minifigures and structures.
  13. ^ That would be the perfect lineup, in my eyes.
  14. Agreed. My collection of brick separators is slowly starting to rival my Lego collection itself. They were a neat little incentive to include in larger sets, but putting them in every set is a bit much.
  15. I'd prefer to see brand-new polybag sets, but I suppose it's possible that Gandalf and the Mirkwood Elf could be released once again in corrected Desolation of Smaug packaging. Who knows, though....Gandalf already saw pretty wide release here in the U.S. at both Toys R Us and Walmart.
  16. I don't think there's a set-in-stone policy that Lego has about that, but my thoughts are along the same line as yours. I don't think we'll get a retail exclusive due to a large S@H exclusive (Orthanc) being released around the same time as the summer wave. I could be wrong, since I can't immediately recall any examples (in the Star Wars theme, for example) of a large 10*** numbered set being released at the same time as a normal wave of sets.
  17. Couldn't you just purchase the new black arches directly from Lego? It might be a tossup between those prices and Bricklink prices, but it shouldn't be too prohibitive.
  18. Anyway......about Lego Lord of the Rings: I had my hopes that we'd see a retailer exclusive set in this summer's wave, but with 10237 being released pretty much simultaneously I'm beginning to doubt that will happen. But who knows? Maybe we'll see something like the rumored Treebeard set.
  19. To clarify, I think they were referring to S@H sets showing up on Walmart.com. I've never seen this large of a set in-store, either.
  20. One day later and I'm still giddy about this thing! Boy, did they knock it out of the park with this one.
  21. I'm really hoping that the UCS R2-D2 sees a discount for May the 4th. I've been putting off buying that one, and now would be the perfect time.
  22. Large sets don't necessarily equate to lots of minifigures, though. Just look at some of the S@H exclusive Star Wars sets (10188 aside ). Honestly, the minifig selection is exactly what I was expecting. EDIT: I also just noticed that TheOneRing.net has some additional shots of the set in action: http://www.theonering.net/torwp/2013/04/26/71149-lego-unveils-the-tower-of-orthanc/
  23. I've thought about checking it out before, but I've heard that Once Upon a Time is far better...
  24. Meh, I'm not too bothered that it isn't the "whole" tower. That could easily have added another $100 to the price tag, and made it too costly.
