  1. I seem to recall information about TC-14 coming out about a month before the sale last year. But this year could be different.
  2. ^ It is a Target exclusive. Walmart's exclusive is the digibook.
  3. It wouldn't be exclusive then, would it?
  4. I just wrote a second pair of letters to Bob Iger and Kathleen Kennedy in support of the show. I would encourage ALL of us who have been disappointed by the recent developments to do the same. I agree with Brickadeer in that we as fans have some say in terms of what Disney will do with the show -- but we have to do it in large numbers. It might seem like a small thing to do, but at least it's something. There are way too many fans just sitting on their thumbs when we can actually be making our voices heard (in a respectful manner!). Here are the addresses for writing to each company: http://www.savethecl...-lucasfilm.html And here is information regarding a Twitter campaign happening THIS SATURDAY, March 23: http://www.starwarsu...otest_4523.html
  5. Meh, the face looks pretty good to me. Martin Freeman does have bag under his eyes as Bilbo, so I think that's the reason for the wrinkles.
  6. I'm not sure I agree with you, Legonater. You're 100% correct in terms of the novels, so I can see where you're coming from. But it's pretty clear that Peter Jackson intends for these to flow with the Lord of the Rings films - hence the prologue with Old Bilbo and Frodo, mentions of Sauron, appearances from familiar characters ala Galadriel and Saruman, and so on. Peter Jackson's films have become one big "saga" of Middle-earth. Your comparison with Star Wars, although true to a certain extent, is also reflected in the Middle-earth films. When all is said and done, people will probably look at the two trilogies as being very different from one another in tone and subject matter; nevertheless, they both tell parts of one larger story - very similar to the way Star Wars has operated.
  7. As someone who's read quite a bit of EU material over the years, I really don't wouldn't mind it a bit if they take a fresh approach for the sequel trilogy. The EU will always be out there to enjoy, but that doesn't mean that the highest level of Star Wars canon (the films and television productions) need to be held to that standard.
  8. ^ I actually agree with you quite a bit. Oddly enough, I found that viewing the film from the comfort of home also helps remove some of the high expectations for the film. It's easier to just sit back, relax, and enjoy the film.
  9. I really like those! The Turtle hot rod looks pretty slick, too.
  10. I have mixed feelings about Lego no longer making Clone Wars sets. On one hand, I hope they continue to make sets covering Season 5, but at the same time it would clear more room for movie-based sets (which is always a good thing IMO).
  11. The three Bilbos! They all look fantastic. To be technical, however, not all three minfigures feature the same head. The Bag End version is different.
  12. It really isn't all that different from the featurettes that we've already seen from Lego, but it's still pretty well done. And a nice tease at the end that more sets are indeed on the way (I personally thought it was a tease about a Lego Smaug, but I digress).
  13. As Rune Haako posted, it appears as though Hasbro will have the construction toy license for JPIV. It's a real shame, as JP was one of my most-wanted franchises for Lego. As soon as I heard this news, I purchased some dinos from Bricklink to make my own custom JP theme.
  14. I completely agree! I'm actually watching the "Deception" story arc as I type this, and it'll be a shame if we get Obi-Wan and Cad Bane but no Moralo in the set.
  15. I'm looking forward to seeing how he handles the film, as he's a fairly unknown director. Apparently he's a huge fan of the franchise, though, so that's a good sign.
  16. Thanks for sharing! It's too bad he didn't give any hints for that last question, but I honestly wasn't expecting any. Unless mentioning "Bantha fodder" is supposed to be a subtle hint....
  17. ^ Agreed. The Goblins in the book never came across as quite so nasty as other goblins/orcs in Middle-earth.
  18. ^ I agree. I'm hoping that with the new films on the horizon, Lego will be able to stop rehashing so many sets and focus on creating new material. At this point, I really can't see how some of the models could get any better.
  19. I don't know why anyone would consider that "annoying". The fact that Matthew Wood and David Acord use effects from the Skywalker Sound library lends more credibility to the show's overall feel.
  20. ^ My wife and I just got home from it, and I felt the same way. Overall a good film, but could have been a tad better IMO.
  21. I'm hoping that we heard some solid rumors on the May 4th exclusive in the next week or so. I'm debating whether to spend money now and get the exclusive Republic Frigate, or wait it out another two months...
  22. ^ I'd love to see a Captain Britain minifig!!
  23. I currently have 5 Uruk-hai armies, and I'll probably pick up another Orc Forge (or two).
  24. It's worth keeping an eye on Amazon. I've seen it discounted a few times there.
  25. From a certain point of view, perhaps. His exact quote was: "More than you realize, I understand wanting to walk away from the Order." It doesn't mean that he's actually been considering walking away from the Jedi Order, just that he empathy for Ahoska based on his own circumstances with Padme. In that respect, Ahsoka has been able to do what her master couldn't bring himself to do.
