  1. Thanks so much for sharing, GRogall! The sets look absolutely incredible! I can't wait for pics of the other sets, and more importantly -- Orthanc!
  2. Amazing work! I love the simplicity of the piece, and the reflection effect.
  3. Hm...interesting. I've actually heard some other reports of Walmart clearances, but it appears to be hit or miss. I'll be sure to swing by my local stores this week just to make sure.
  4. Care to elaborate on where you've found these on clearance?
  5. Just as an aside, it appears that Attack on Weathertop is silently making an exit. It's sold out on the U.S. Lego S@H site, Target.com, and Walmart.com. If anyone has been putting off buying this one, now may be the time to do so.
  6. I'm registered there, but haven't posted in a while. It would be good if more Tolkien fans jumped on board with the Lego theme, though.
  7. I hope we get at least one more wave. There are quite a few more sets that they could make just based on this season, let alone everything that's coming. I'd really like to see Leatherhead or the Rat King.
  8. It is encouraging to see just how much the cast is getting into the Lego theme. I'm hoping for an Azog minifigure in the not-too-distant future as well.
  9. I couldn't have said it better myself. Lord of the Rings was a "most-wanted" theme for many of us, so there's always been this sense of uncertainty regarding how long the theme will last and what it will cover. So when a set like the Corsair ship comes along, there is some cause for alarm -- not because it's a bad set, but out of concern that key sequences/characters from the films won't see the light of day.
  10. Don't LotR sets already appeal to Castle fans? I see your point rogueang, but I'm not sure how much sense it makes for Lego to use LotR as an amalgamation of multiple themes.
  11. The same people are working on it. Pete Docter and Andrew Stanton wrote Monsters, Inc. as well.
  12. Hm....that would be quite a long break. More than 2 years, to be exact. That would be a first for a licensed theme, but I suppose stranger things have happened.
  13. I just recently picked up the two 2012 sets, and they're great! I'm assuming that this theme is dead in the water at this point however, since we've had no word on any 2013 sets. It's a shame, since Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy were the last major characters that the theme needed.
  14. So you're not interested in Monsters University because of one throwaway line? Did it occur to you that maybe Mike was exaggerating?
  15. This may have been touched on before, but do we know for certain that there won't be a retailer exclusive set with this summer's wave?
  16. I think Deathleech makes a great point. I think Lego is making something of a statement by releasing a large, more obscure set as the flagship for Wave 2 (the Corsair ship). It's as if they're saying: "Don't worry, guys. The theme is doing just fine, so we can afford to release an obscure set like this." That's my hope at least.
  17. You do realize that Han's face is double-sided, right? He also comes with his usual brown hair.
  18. If we keep being vocal and throwing our full support (and $$$) behind the theme, I'm sure we'll see it continue another couple of years. At the very least, I want to see the LotR theme continue long enough to cover all of the major bases (*ahem* Gondor *ahem*).
  19. I believe Ant-Man is still scheduled to be part of Phase 3.
  20. Actually, I believe Pixar will be releasing two films in 2015: The Untitled Pixar Movie that Takes You Inside the Mind in June, and Finding Dory in November.
  21. I received my tax return and ordered another Orc Forge and Gandalf Arrives from Target.
  22. ^ Let's hope not. I would love to see Lego Haradrim!
  23. I agree, it would be a pretty boneheaded move not to include minifigures with Orthanc. I think it's too early on in the LotR line for them to risk not including minifigures to boost the appeal of a set.
  24. Did he give any indication of when the announcement would be made?
  25. ^ True, but the timing would have been perfect for the May promotion, with Iron Man 3 releasing the same month.
