  1. On a lights front, I wonder if there's any chance at module with 4 or 8 individually controllable LEDs on a single PU connection?
  2. Somehow, that contraption makes me think guillotine. And now I'm wondering how one of those would make a GBC module.
  3. Under embargo until the official release date, which I think is august?
  4. I believe Control Center I did not have an external power port, but I do not own one. Control Center0 II (the mounted helicopter/t-rex) comes with a 10V AC power adapter, so the rectifier must be inside the control center.
  5. The tops of those springs can only move in 1 direction relative to the upper frame; I think it needs to be able to move in two?
  6. If you're exactly half a stud off, 8T/16T or 12T/12T are also options. Or you can always use a perpendicular axle.
  7. I could also imagine the 7x11 frames being more prone to breaking under stress than they're comfortable with.
  8. I think the only parts I've broken a significant amount of are half bushes and the old 'flex' cords.
  9. I think those tires are in the RTC. Lego part number 4246901.
  10. Would it make sense to rotate the gondola from the rotation of the pulleys holding the lift cables?
  11. This reminds me of the two-legged mech model in idea book 8891.
  12. I like the idea of a technic-style train. However, should it run on the same track width as normal lego trains, or a wider one?
  13. I suspect price per kilogram gives a more constant figure than price per piece, but I'm too lazy to run the number. Though 'complex' pieces like electronics, pneumetics, LAs, etc are obviously extra.
  14. I built the 42082 front loader two weeks ago, and quite enjoyed the build. The only tricky bit was where I accidentally split the hinge once or twice. Then I spent another evening with the 42081 bucket so I can mount it as an alternate. That was more work then I expected - the geometry around how the fork is mounted is more subtle than it looks at first glance.
  15. On the other hand, I don't get the feeling the volvo license adds to set price at all.
  16. That'd give an 8-9 stud wide crane in my estimation. Small, but probably doable.
  17. Alas that set came out during my dark ages. I looked up the instructions and it appears to include a number of problematic parts, like 16l and 32l axles and 10 long gear racks (I only own 2) . Though I guess I could see that as a challenge.
  18. Seems likely. The yellow 20t gear cannot be fixed from above, and there's quite some force on it.
  19. I think earlier theories that the lego model itself is modular like the real machine can be (at least partly) disproven with these photos - the superstructure looks like a solid whole to me. Though the boom, turntable, and tracks may still detach relatively easily.
  20. You've probably got the parts within the C model restriction to do a brick-built LA.
  21. The transformer that came with my control system 2 back in the day is 10V output as well.
  22. Probably, but there is no way to pass an axle through like you can with the old ball joint frames. I think this piece is really meant as a kind of omnidirectional support wheel.
  23. Among other things, could be used to help mount an M motor in a space designed for an L motor (as I'm sure we all do frequently).
  24. sbricks have 4 control channels, but you can configure an interface to control multiple sbricks at the same time.
  25. But the size of the cage makes it difficult to drive rotation on the gear ring - you have to drive it on the inner turntable instead which means higher torque. EDIT: On further thinking, this model must be driving the inner turntable anyway if we're right in suspecting the track drive and superstructure rotation are off a hub in the lower body.
