  1. Finally!!!! after a few weeks on using Studio 2.1, I have managed to finish the Black Widow pickup truck, this link will send you to the model home page and you can even view the model in 3-d!!! I have a few issues I still need to resolve , like the u-joints which I can't figure on how to bend them and the same for the rubber hose that makes the bottom part of the windshield . This version of the Black Widow features: 4 wheel steering touch screen on dash and steering wheel Glove box 2021 model has a new design on front grill and head lamps and the chassis is an all original design by me!! I believe its free to download.. please If you have a comment , please feel free to ask!! @rm8 Your chariot is ready!!! https://www.bricklink.com/v3/studio/design.page?idModel=119808 Lego Technic by victormendoza_jr, on Flickr
  2. I don't recall who post it was on , But the axle is in the axle thread and I did find a picture of the close up where the steering pivot is inside the rim/tire .. using the same size tires and rim from your model, the pivot actually can be more to the center of the the tire if that little notch was removed!! i think that notch inside the rim is acting like a pivot limiter??? odd but with the notch inside , the steering pivot is more or less 1/4 to the center of the tire.. center would be ideal!! and it still better then Lego default pivot which is outside the tire .. 3. Lego did buy out bricklink last month and one of the first changes was to make the sellers stop selling custom parts... I would of think that they would also as the sellers to only sell real Lego bricks by now??
  4. @johnnym Your model in red really looks great , A lot of eye candy for sure.. The performance is good but I think it can be faster... If you only have a buggy motor.. You can even make tighter turns by changing the front axles steering pivot closer to the tire .. like this video for an example .. https://youtu.be/LYBsR5akgHY
  5. You can weight the elements on a scale and compare the weight with known Lego elements. Lepin and other brand tends to weigh a bit more then the real Lego bricks. make sure you use a scale that measures 0.001 or better of a gram.
  6. I would rather use this if you need the axles to stay stationary (especially with wheels) either or you still have to use 1 stud of space to secure any axles and the brown 3 l axle with stop, would the extra beam cause some type of added friction even though its grooved enough , the spin out wards can cause more friction when the stop part of the axle rub against the beam Technic, Axle 5.5 with Stop Item No: 32209 Alternate Item No: 59426 Dark Bluish Gray▼ Color Images 3D/Lrg Images
  7. That's a very cool video . Your Technic spider is even better .. Have you ever scared anyone with your model?? That would be so funny to see people reactions !!
  8. You're on the right track, The 5x1 steering arm needs another one next to your other 5x1 arm on the same side and one more on the opposite side of your axle. you maybe need 2 on the opposite side. example.............=axle= or -axle= (the = is two 5x1 arms) Technic, Steering Arm 5 x 1 with Towball Socket Rounded, Chamfered Item No: 15459 Light Bluish Gray▼ Color Images Large Images
  9. Did you figured it out or did someone help you?? I did download your LDD file and I had no idea where to start!! :)
  10. Some tutoring on using the Powered Up app was bad enough but what you shared @ord was very important.. Good job!!
  11. Thank you @Thirdwigg thats ,means a lot!!! I struggle between what I like to see vs what it needs to be and Im starting to get what a true mod is.. Im 47 years old and after going through a 28 year of the "dark ages" I Just started my creative phase and I have many more ideas that seems endless and i've just started. Beside tiles they're many other methods to cover holes (panels) but the cost of adding weight and money is an expense to worry about..
  12. I would like to request a video if possible. It does look like it can haul fast. Even though some parts didn't color match correctly , I do see your vision. Great job !!
  13. I manage to redo the front end and grill and the style is more aggressive "truck look".. and II also included the rear 3rd row seats. Still more to come!! 14. As I learn to use Studio 2.0, here is a link to download the 4x4x4 chassis (no body)with the optional 4 wheel steering.. you can use the chassis and add your own body and functions with this template. Soon ill have the whole model finished under Studio!! please share your thought on this... https://www.bricklink.com/v3/studio/design.page?idModel=118319 Lego technic chassis by victormendoza_jr, on Flickr
  15. I like it very much!!! I like the idea how you wrap the cab around the chassis so when turn it upside down , its as good as the rest of the model.. must weigh a lot though!!!!
  16. This is my entry for @Thirdwigg contest. This is an evolution from the Black Widow pickup truck to a SUV truck .. It shares a few component from the the Black Widow and these following are new or improved from the Black widow.. The AWD Tarantula improvements are: Extra row of seats for a total 7 seats 5.0 liter V-10 @ 1000 horsepower Optional custom fenders, bush guard and 4 wheel steering can be ordered New designed of the rear axle and suspension (heavy weight) Extra storage space and increase volume of rear bed and rear window to lock in your valuables. Here are a few pictures and Ill upload more of the technic goodies later on... 17. Cool!!, thanks for the link @AFOoLish.. Even though I don't know what language it is.. it looks interesting !! :) I want to do a mod !!!! 8x8x8??? and suspension?? stay tune!!!
  18. Studio 2.0 Chassis *.io file should be available https://www.bricklink.com/v3/studio/design.page?idModel=116796 and check out the 3d renders of the 3 diff setup and the outputs and inputs are left out.. (im still learning the program.) Ill have more coming soon. 19. I recalled the Lego 42075 is too tall to fit on the bottom rack. It should fit on the top rack.
  20. It's the light that brings out its darkness... Just a few more pictures to look at.. Lego Technic 8081 mod by victormendoza_jr, on Flickr Lego Technic 8081 mod by victormendoza_jr, on Flickr
  21. @Thirdwigg what does (TCM1) on your title stand for?? and can I join?
  22. Holes, holes, holes everywhere. LEGO Technics models can have great mechanical functions in detail but at a cost of having unrealistic cosmetic appearance. A building technique called SNOT (Studs Not On Top) can be implemented on LEGO technic beams and lift arms. LEGO technic part # 4274 1/2 pins are one of the smallest technics elements.. and you can use these parts by inserting them onto your liftarms (or any technic hole) and using any Lego tiles of your color and size.. For example I'm using a black color 1x 9 tile, the tile you should be looking for are very thin and it can make any technic model into a Leader class creation.. 23. @johnnym Thank you and yes, I can create an digital layout of the drivetrain.. Just give me a day or two.. Oddly, this model was based off from my early designs and I do have the blue and red color fenders and believe me, the red fenders look great on this current model but the orange color Corvette issues still haunts me and the red color fenders are just like the Corvette orange fenders , i'll be safe and stay with the color black!! (Have I every mention to you, That the color technic black weighs less then the other technic colors).. The odd layout of the rear and front differential is to fit the into the 13 stud wide independent suspension and I manage to design a working model out of it.. This is new territory for the LEGO set 8081 challenge, If you ever done a Google search with the keywords "LEGO 8081 mod". You'll see at least 7 years + of some of the greatest mods for the 8081 and to be original on a mod design would be a challenge.. The front window on my mod had a major revamp due to a new function I wanted to use . the single bladed "windshield wiper" mechanics was to large and i'll use it on another project. The rear view mirror has a spot to be mounted and i haven't found the ideal brick.. the brush guard is just an option and the strut element is packaged on this LEGO set, https://brickset.com/sets/60107-1/Fire-Ladder-Truck . The 3 diff chassis is unique and I believe the huge gap on the bottom of the chassis between the axles can be filled with motors or even better, skid plates !! 60107-1: Fire Ladder Truck Lego Technic 8081 mod by victormendoza_jr, on Flickr
  24. LOL, LEGO bricks!!! thanks for the correction. Us, Americans can't speak English anymore, it's all about the slang .. !! Dang my descriptive grammar !!
  25. Well in the USA, the cheapest price for one 7x11 frame is $2.32 USD !!! I thought $1 per unit was expensive but over $2 dollars !! wow.. @I_IgorHow much did it cost you, if you don't mind me asking??
