  1. Could be a handy site! http://507movements.com/index02.html
  2. A distraction project could be the perfect solution!
  3. Not sure if MindStork posts here, not that I could tell. Although not as smooth as I would like, this is quite a unique design:
  4. Always good to see the reliability improvements!
  5. I don't really see them as being things you would show at events. They are just too small. I have seen one video where someone has linked up 4 of them I think into a square loop. I like the idea of branching off to a mini-loop, but I don't really see these things as being for events. Just something attainable for those not wanting to spend too much on GBC. Not many bits needed, not many balls needed. As for events, standards are absolutely essential and I like designs which have the ability to handle large quantities of balls, have overflow systems etc. Those standards make people think carefully about how their machine will operate under those conditions.
  6. It is amazing how quickly these things deteriorate when run constantly at events. I guess one issue for you, is some of the weight involved. May be worth using lubricant at events?
  7. Yeah. I generally don't post them, but he has done 2 I like and this is one of them. I still see it as a GBC thing. I still use his vids for inspiration for doing GBC stuff. I will admit that they don't follow the GBC standard for events. That said, neither does Akiyuki's ball factory.
  8. Does Josh DaVid post here? This I think is one of his best models to date. I love how many movements serve more than one purpose.
  9. That is a bit cheaty, but at this point, I don't care, as it is such a good model. Hope it helps with reliability! Is the dark stuff on the yellow LEGO either rubber or LEGO dust from it being run so much?
  10. It is funny, I love the Akiyuki GBC stuff, but I am not really bothered about his train GBC stuff. That said, I love the work that is being done in this thread. It is amazing watching everyone come together to improve the reliability and the ingenious solutions which are being found! Bravo!
  11. Doh, yeah, my bad. I knew that, his name spins at the top of the thing, but I seemed to just blank it out. I even checked to see if he was on here before posting the original vid.
  12. @9v system is it worth posting the additional Akiyuki images to BrickSafe or Flickr etc. and link them here. That is what I did with the ball factory. I did ask permission from him before hand and he doesn't seem to mind.
  13. I hope someone with a better video camera took some footage of it. It is an amazing piece of work, it needs HD video quality :) Thanks for all the photos as you built it, it has been fascinating watching your progression and problem solving!
  14. Just notice that at about the 1:32 mark, the coaster really flings a ball out at the audience. :)
  15. I have to admit, that I quite like the mechanism behind this. That said, the gear on the right, which doesn't have an axle at the start, messes with my OCD. My only concern is the jammed ball you see pop into the air at the start.
  16. Nice mechanism concept!
  17. Just noticed in @Maico's video of @shadow_elenter's GBCoaster, the wheel which slows down the coaster at the top of the drop has been changed over to 2 wheels. Seems to work a lot faster, smoother, better.
  18. Glad you posted your original testing video to YouTube, would be gutted to only see the few fleeting seconds of it at the event. It is a great machine! I rather like the mechanism used in this machine to load the balls in 1 by 1.
  19. I always like how there is nibbles everywhere.
  20. I like the feeding mechanism on this!
  21. Found this last week, but sat on it, just in case the creator was going to post it. In a way, I am not that bothered by the GBC aspect of it, but it is one of the best implementations I have seen of that style of 3rd party LEGO coaster track. I really enjoy watching the coasters go along the track and the chain lifts works well. I like how it has 2 coasters on the go as well. The way it tips out the balls is really nice. The wheel that stops the balls falling out at the top of the main drop is a bit slow for my liking, but I am guessing much needed. Anyway, it is a great piece of work. Certainly something new and different, which I always appreciate.
