  1. A couple of changes are needed to make Fork-to-Fork closer to the original Akiyuki design and work better. I think I made 4 changes in total. 1: Changed the gear housing to accept a normal worm gear because and instructions and Akiyuki used an incredibly rare part. 2: Changed a small bit of bracing back to the Akiyuki design. No idea why it was changed, the original is way better and makes more sense. 3: Removed a bit of ramping from around the wheel. It wasn't in the original. It was added for aesthetics, but snags against the wheel. 4: Most importantly, I moved the off ramp from the wheel back to the original height, which makes it far better and more reliable. It is a good solid module and surprisingly reasonable to move around.
  2. Taken about 40 photos, will post later. Camera has a crappy focus and I am short on time, but it did have a flash, so that should help with working out brick heights etc.
  3. It is funny how this is the first module many people make. It is terrible in that regard, since it is one of the more expensive ones, it uses a bunch of pieces you are unlikely to have and requires a lot of balls to have it fully utilised. Oh and syncing it is a nightmare :P I think people also liked the fact that it could be stand-alone. I spent way too many hours fixing it, which is why I stepped away from it for a while. It was nice to just make some modules and enjoy them without hassle. Although most needed correcting or modifying, they have been far easier than the Factory which had a lot wrong with it. I think one thing worth working out early on, is a specific speed to run it at. e.g. various bits behave differently, depending on speed.
  4. Was thinking about it. One of the biggest changes required, is a redesigned of the bucket emptying tower. The top part of it can remain the same to the Akiyuki design, but the rest needs a complete overhaul and provides opportunities for improvements. When I constructed mine, it was basically defined by what pieces I had to hand. Anyway, I will post the main two issues with it. I am having surgery on my foot tomorrow, so my easy access to photographing the factory kinda starts and ends tonight for a week or two.
  5. My general goal is to keep it as identical to the original as possible, just raising it up. So my elevation isn't going to be anything interesting. I will make a push to get all the changes back to his original well documented with photos initially though.
  6. I was talking about this with @9v system. I am just learning Studio.io at the moment and will be doing The Sun as a part of that. I also intend to create a elevated base for the Ball Factory, to make it GBC compliant and take the bases out of the picture. Thus it should be easier to move and also isn't confined by the size restrictions of two base plates. Most of it, when corrected works pretty well. The corrected tower is far better. I will post some pictures of that. Currently, the main issues are: Bob putting the buckets back on the wheel. That is far better now, but not perfect, this is from my own changes. The other issues is the bucket emptying. I have corrected it to the Akiyuki original, but if it ever fails to lift a bucket, it seriously crunches the machine. I was considering putting some rubber pieces into the mix of that one.
  7. Yeah, you will need to use either a BrickSafe or Flickr account if you want to post images here.
  8. Remember to post photos of any mods! :)
  9. I am doing Cup to Cup next. One of the main things I want to try and sort with it, is to try and stop the balls collecting behind the spiral lift. Great work. It is nice to see the big machine in action!
  10. Would it be worth adding some Technic, Axle Connector Double Flexible (Rubber) (45590) to the base to stop them moving due to vibration?
  11. It depends, I have seen plenty of LEGO GBC ball triggered stuff out there. It means it has to be more finely balanced, but it is still possible.
  12. Just came across this. Took a while to get the video to load, but it was worth it.
  13. In this video, you can see that the Catch & Spin has dropped some balls. Anyone else encountered this?
  14. Pro tip @Berthil, more people queuing! :P I have been there twice and still haven't seen inside due to the length of the queue!
  15. Always nice to match up people on here with their YouTube accounts!
  16. I tend to combine lists, choose Buy All, then Auto-Select. I have to black list the odd seller, due to the algorithm sometimes prioritising inventory over price. Black listing the odd seller can create quiet the saving. Once I have the carts, I then check each sellers shop and just buy random additional things I know I will need later on. Just to make the most of postage. I also check for any weird/rare stuff. Easy Buy does the whole of Europe, where as Buy All means I can restrict it to UK sellers.
  17. I did the Ball Factory Parts lift off the PDF. Damn that was a headache. Yeah, I tend to add a module's part list twice. One as a preserved list for reference and another where I delete all the bits I have, which I collect in a bucket and then use that to create my list of things to buy. I have a tower which stores my LEGO. Trays are based on colour and then in that tray they are all bagged up by part. Not overly sophisticated, but gets the job done. I use something akin to this, which goes up to the ceiling: And then this for small bits: I am guessing there is a thread on this forum about storage choices.
  18. https://akiyuki.jp/en/works/1423 Buy now link at the bottom.
  19. Just paste the YouTube URL, this site will do the rest.
  20. Someone has bought it, built it and tested it. Seems to work pretty well.
  21. Brick & Pieces usually only has pieces for 5 years after they lasted appeared in a set. Is there a set this appears in which Brick Link doesn't know about, or is this just an exception to the rule? Either way, it is good to see it available. Thanks @LucyCol!
  22. You can only link to images on this forum. I ability to upload images only applies to an avatar/footer image really. I think your total space is something 500k :P
  23. @HRU_Bricks Just want to say, great work on the air compressor video and design. Was really enjoyable to watch, very well put together. I like the fact that one of your solutions for the compressor is a solution I used on the Akiyuki Catch & Release module. e.g. driving it from both ends. My implementation of it is messy, but as a proof of concept, the results are very pleasing. Also love the use of the rubber Technic, Axle Connector Double Flexible to isolate the cylinders from the frame. I remember creating a 4 cylinder version many moons ago and it bounced all over the place, so it is a much needed solution to that issue. Anyway, it looks great, very nice aesthetics and some great solutions to the issues at hand. Have LEGO actually done any sets with air tanks of late? I have a bunch, but am curious as to whether they are hard to come by these days. I think all of mine are blue.
  24. To be honest, I find it the most attractive of my GBCs as just an ornament. When ever I look at it, it brings a smile to my face.
