  1. Same here. I have been wanting to see the return of the 2/6 cylinders for a long while. Very useful for certain functions where you don't need the reach of the 2.0 cylinders. Been contemplating on buying an old set just to get a couple of the shorter 2x2 cylinders. Was hoping the rumored grey cylinders would be of the short variety but probably not the case.
  2. Brilliant work! How is there no official B-model for this set? Shows great promise as a parts pack.
  3. I rarely see backhoes like the ones pictured above here anymore. The ones I do see are of the Huddig/Lännen variety. Such a construction might be easier to fit parts needed for RC functionality into while keeing proportions somewhat correct.
  4. I am just hoping it will be back in stock again. Seems to be running low on supply. Should be temporary though since it hasn't been on sale for very long, but who knows in these strange times.
  5. Just to clarify, I am talking about the need to strengthen mainlines to be able to transfer electricity from powerplants. At least here in Sweden we have this problem already where the power distribution network isn't strong enough to deliver enough electricity to companies wanting to starting or expanding their business in the southern parts of the country just because a lot of our electricity is produced in the north. This is not in the future but right now, and the move from ICE vehicles to electric has just started. Sorry for going of topic, I am done now. :)
  6. You still have to find a way to produce enough electricity to charge all those batteries. It will also require never before seen amounts of money invested in infrastructure for power distribution.
  7. Not so sure about a Volvo Mining Truck. We just had the Volvo AH60 and not too long ago the Zeux concept with a b-model truck. Sorry, but I don't find a Audi R8 very exciting. Such a mundane looking car. I'd much rather have an Aston Martin, Koenigsegg or something else more exotic. I mean, something to at least come close to a severely limited edition Lamborghini.
  8. Why not donate it to charity or something instead? So pointless.
  9. Are you saying it isn't? If people and even companies does not stand up against the discrimination of others then who will? To think there is any correlation between the quality of TLG's products and their political/social views is completely illogical in my world. Very well said. Sorry for the off topic post but this is non the less a very important matter.
  10. I sure hope they won't make the cylinders/actuators used in such a model the same turquoise colour. :)
  11. I wouldn't mind if this set got a fourth release. :) Looking good so far!
  12. Such a sweet set 8854 is. I wish I owned the original. This sould be interesting!
  13. Liking the colouring. Too bad I can't just buy the set without also paying for the Control+ elements. Then again, it looks like Control+ is the only function so without it there would be no point in releasing the set as is.
  14. Very cool build. I remember the old Octane city sets. The colour combination with green, red and white is perfect!
  15. This is just beyond unacceptable in my world. Seriously, what is happening with LEGO? Is this part so hard to get right compared to any other? I have a hard time imagining that.
  16. I've returned many a thing just because the box didn't look mint and it just saddens me that people seem uncapable of treating things that are not theirs with respect. If something is shipped to me and not packed right or har faulty packaging from the beginning, I will not pay for it. I treat a lot of the things I buy like display pieces. I do not buy a lot of stuff, but the things I do buy I value the condition of since I know I will take good care of the things I own myself.
  17. This is something I struggle with daily at work as a mechanical engineer. There are usually many ways to accomplish one thing. At some point you have to accept that the problem is solved and move on, knowing that you might not have found the ultimate solution but hopefully you have found one that is good enough. I've gotten better at this throughout the years but it takes time. What a joy it would be if time and money was out of the equation, but sadly it is not.
  18. This is very cool! Especially nice to see such a good implementation of pneumatics. Also, spring loading the arm looks like a great solution!
  19. This is brilliant! With the new colours this looks just perfect. I especially like the fact that all parts looks to serve a purpose. Very slim design. Well done.
  20. This gave me a good laugh! It's brilliant! :)
  21. My guess is that LEGO pneumatics are intentionally built to leak quite a bit of air and that would have to be changed to make them work with heavier loads. Also, the hoses need to be rigid enough for minimum flex but maybe thats not a problem.
