  1. Great backdrop indeed. Well done @desert752!
  2. Fair enough. I guess I just don't understand how colourful parts take away from the building experience. When I built in the late 80's and early 90's, part of the challenge was the amount of parts added in each step of the instructions but I'm not so sure the colour of parts made as much difference. I feel that the 42115 Sian will look better on display together with my 42056 GT3 RS compared to the 42083 Chiron just because both the Porsche and Lambo look to use less system pieces in the bodywork than the Chiron, making them more coherent in the visual design.
  3. In a world where so many "adults" seem to have the attention span of a 11 year old, I'd say the age marking on the box is of little use. :)
  4. I'm happy to see that there are other parts here in lime colour other than the large outer panels. Besides, how much of the more colourful pieces are visible on the finished model? I get more than enough parts in gray/dark gray/black in each other set I buy to satisfy my needs.
  5. That there is "no way" seems a bit strong, even though it might be very unlikely. The Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 used a Haldex system as well as the Bugatti Veyron, but otherwise they mainly build systems for FWD based cars like you wrote.
  6. I have a IKEA Bestå that doubles as LEGO display and TV bench. Glass doors are available but I have yet to mount them. 42054, 42078 (truck only) and 42081 are what is on display at the moment. Next build will probably be the 42043 Arocs.
  7. I'm just curious how you landed in the conclusion that "there's no point in creating a RHD Chiron" in LEGO just because the real car never came that way from the factory?
  8. I wonder what the Lambo would look like in bright light orange. Might be too close to 42056 porsche orange to be concidered, but still. I'm more interested in what colour and design the wheels will be in though.
  9. Just create a new profile for it. Sure, this might not be worth it from a financial standpoint, but I see no other problem.
  10. The colour choice worries me as well. Also, I hope for chromed/silver wheels this time. I find black as on the 911 boring and the blue on the Chiron makes those wheels hard to use for any other model.
  11. Any thoughts on this sets retirement? Will it be around till the end of this year? I noticed the 42070 was available for quite a long time before being discontinued.
  12. IMO they should have wrapped up the show way earlier. Actually, they should have waited at least another 10 years before even starting working on it. Now I'm affraid A Song of Ice and Fire might never be finished.
  13. If they are thought of as steel track links, I'd say gray makes sense.
  14. As long as the pontoons are sealed and not too heavy they should be fine in water even with a few holes through them. :)
  15. This is just too cool! You nailed the classic look. Just how I imagined it when reading the thread title and then some. Would realy like to build this. Now, where did I put those shock absorbers from the 8880...
  16. Completely agree. Though it took me 20 years to appreciate the body lines of the mk4 Supra, so who knows, the new one might grow on me but not holding my breath. They destroyed it with the ugly hoodline in my opinion. Among other things. I'm curious to see what the next generation 86/BRZ will bring though.
  17. Would be nice, though it is practically yellow. :)
  18. Such a smooth design. Amazingly brilliant. Well done indeed.
  19. I guess €20 is alright as compensation. Yeah, I thought it might work that way but wasn't sure since there are different levels, all being the same ratio of discount. Thanks for clearing that up. I'll see if I can find some use for those points before they expire.
  20. Sorry for off topic but, care to define "a whole bunch"? I got an email from LEGO the other day saying I've got 1800+ VIP points. "Not too bad" was my first throught, "maybe I should make use of them and buy someting from the LEGO online store" was my second. To my disapointment those points can only buy me a discount of €5 for my next purchase. Realy? Was the VIP point return of investment always this bad?
  21. Well, if they made it a GSX it might be alright. Eclipse with a EVO drivetrain. Back when The Fast and the Furious came out, the eclipse was my favourite car of the movie. Nowdays, I would have to say its the Supra. If one car from the original movie would appear as a LEGO set, it would surely be the Supra? For the UCS line the only con would be that it's orange since we already had an orange car. :)
  22. Yes, we'll just keep digging our own species grave. Greta has a point.
