I thought LEGO came out after the Vidiyo would be retooled comment and said it was canceled and they were looking forward to working with Universal on something new in the future. Vidiyo is one of the biggest flops in modern history of LEGO. I just bought some sets for like 70% off Amazon.

Love the cat but that's also the first really ugly Friends set of 2023. haha The grocery store is $90, ouch, and doesn't even have corn. The $160 set is lovely and weird at the same time, but includes a black window/door frame for the double doors.

Lego City 2023 Leaks, Rumours, Speculation And Discussion
Maple replied to Powered by Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
I set my expectations extremely low and somehow LEGO didn't even meet them. City was redone a few years ago to be only for 4 year olds. I get that it's a toy. This year I thought LEGO made a good mix of being a toy but also not overly childish. A good mix. The 2023 sets are a mess. No other way to say it, some of them are really weird. The buildings are too flat, they have no life to them. The 2022 sets have a modern architecture to them, these have none. There also feels like there is way too much black in the designs. If the small sets stay $10 then at least there are those. The otters look nice. Two doctor figures and two animals look good. The garbage truck is perfect and I love how LEGO is needlessly making new colors of the trash can all the time. -
Marvel Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion

I'm fine with the NinjaGo mech pieces. Something had to be done to fix the mechs because they simply didn't stand up right. I'm an adult and just want them to stand there and they wouldn't. So that is a welcome change I'm fine with. Makes playing with them easier for children. Plus they look good. However $15USD for a mech is simply inexcusable. Do not give me some BS on shipping costs and inflation. Inflation isn't 50%. This is LEGO being greedy and it's disgusting. -
I was half wrong. The Santa Barn is $150 which is weird. However no word yet on how us in the USA can get the winter VIP pack. I just checked and it wasn't added to rewards for us. Yeah, mid December would normally bring double points. Where is Brick Clicker? I trust his news.
-
No. It's $170USA like the other one. And the winter one is not in the USA. The winter VIP pack has been out in Europe for 1000 points for awhile. You are mixing up Euro and USA.

I lived in an apartment that would NEVER get packages. This was before they took pictures of deliveries. After 5 things went missing I just mailed things to my old place and told my roommates to leave it on the porch. Are you sure they delivered them? Fedex many times said things were delivered, i file a missing report and days later it magically shows up. -

It's a bigger shame I never get an extra order. A friend of mine once got the wrong order, it included a ton of food, including from the Asian dinner set that was actually exclusive to Asia. -

Oh good. That means that it's just busy. It's actually been 4 weeks as I ordered on Halloween. I just hope they get here for Christmas as I ordered some of the dots letters for a gift. -
Walmart has codes where you can save $10 off of $50. So I've bought them for $65 and $42.50 after tax.

The road plate are not the reason for the prices, it's simply LEGO price gouging. If a set can be 30 Euro there is no need for it to be $45 (The Farmer's Market Truck), that has no baseplate and still twice as much then in other countries. I got the grocery store from Kohl's for $49, it's been 30% off for Black Friday Month. Plus I added a DOTS pack for $2.50 and got $15 Kohl's Cash to get the Friends recycling truck for $5. -

To be fair, I just expect the worse, more so for the January releases. I don't like the modern truck design City is using most of the time, its very meh. Mixed in with more Fire and Police I don't really care about just makes January City really bad to me. Then there is the issue with the school, finally got one in City and it was hugely overpriced and frankly a complete joke of a set. However I love the City Space theme that came out March 2022. I own all of them. I keep my expectations low then I'll be even more happy and surprised when / if the sets are really nice. -

My expectations for City the last few years has been dumpster fire low so LEGO would really need to mess it up for me to think any less. -

I like the fact that I was mad at LEGO for not having th cow around for a few years so I got 4 not LEGO cows for $5 and you can't even tell the difference. $10 for a cow is insane, more so when all the other animals of that size as so much cheaper. The reindeer is only $6. -
Don't get me wrong, I do think the set designs are well done, and I really enjoy the mech riding a trike. The mechs all have the same feel to me now. Even with Exo-force they have a different feel over the three years. It's hard to explain.

All I can say is the lack of creativity sets worse and worse every year. I get this is 'core' and not a new season, but even the cool different seasons only get a few sets, it's mainly just all rehashes all the time now.

Yeah. I thought they were the same double door piece, but a new 1x3 frame. So the current 2022 double doors are 1x3x6 and the new one used for the fridge is a 1x3x5. Pooda, if you look at the house fridge you will see the piece. https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/autumn-s-house-41730 -

Interesting. I would have made it the same height as that be more useful, but whatever. Very interesting. Always a fan of new windows and doors. -

Did you see that in the new Friends house that the fridge is a new 1x3 frame that uses the 3 wide door?! Looks great. -
Lego has added the Hair Salon, $40USD. Very interesting design. I like the flowers on the second 'floor'. https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/hair-salon-41743

I like it. It's much better than the skellie pack. There are pigs and glow-in-the-dark head pieces. -

Damn. I just looked up the rates. $50USD is $75AUD. $119 for the bag is outrageous.
