  1. If the first half City sets are best then it's one of the worst City years ever. I for one like artic, but yeah the 2014 ones were so much better. The last time ones were too much on vehicles and the best part of the sets were the animals.
  2. I don't trust random instagram people. However if we do not get a new cargo / dock thing with the newer roadplates I'll be mad.
  3. Three minutes in has a great view of the pack.
  4. My order finally came in! What's worse than a seven week wait is the fact it said it only shipped this week, yet the part list says November 25th. Sadly the order seems correct, no extra pieces for me, but I'll wait until after Christmas to check.
  5. The X-Men will be coming to the Marvel movies very soon as we will be getting more and more as the years go by. I just finished the Daily Bugle and besides the build being incredibly boring (400 windows) it's massive and beautiful. I hope we get another building soon and not more lame overpriced garbage like we did this year.
  6. Yes, or if you have Twitter. I didn't know there was a debate, I figured it would. https://twitter.com/NewElementary/status/1606016972990386181/photo/1
  7. It's a Festivus Miracle! My November 1st order has finally shipped! Now just another 6-8 weeks for it to arrive.
  8. New Elementary has a review of all the new parts, prints and recolors of the 2023 sets. https://www.newelementary.com/2022/12/lego-friends-january-2023-new-blocks-on.html
  9. Because of quantity. Lego will sell 100 times as many $10 sets then it does $500 sets so it's worth printing. However sometimes it is really insane and Lego is just super greedy. At the very least Lego should include an extra sticker sheet.
  10. Really? They are great sets,. Plus in the USA our discounts have been really bad until recently and the $10 sets have been $6-$6.50. All the City ones don't have stickers. I think it's because they are so massed marketed. My favorite is 60323: Stunt Plane that has a bird printed on both sides of the tail pieces, yet Lego can't make prints for other things that can be used in more than one set.
  11. They are LEGO System so don't they all connect? If you are lucky to have a Costco, the Main Street is $60 instead of $160. Also the corner in it is barely compatible with the other pieces of the set. It's design s strange.
  12. The $10 sets haven't had stickers for several years now.
  13. I wouldn't worry about it. Again, there are literally only two buildings which is concerning too, last year there were 6 full buildings in January.
  14. The thicker plates aren't used in the other themes either. But it's used to hold trash can in the garbage truck set and I don't like that. Road plates aren't really phased out, if they are still using them. There are only two building and one uses them. That's a 50% user rate. The old style road plates were mostly only ever used as parking spots too.
  15. Interesting. I don't see any need for that 3x3 corner as the 2x2 works fine, but whatever. Also of not is I just noticed that LEGO not only got rid of thin baseplates, LEGO is now getting rid of 1 plate thick baseplates in City. That's VERY concerning to me, and frankly kind of lame.
  16. I'll send them an email. Last time they screwed up the VIP thing (which is really stupid) but gave me a refund and 2000 points. Is that a Duplo car base? That's really funny as that's a huge piece.
  17. I agree. Very surprising to me. And if LEGO wants to continue the more than one thing in a modular, the post office could be delivering mail to a house next door.
  18. Did you ever call? I just noticed they actually charged me for my order from Nov 1st. That seems wrong to me.
  19. I agree. Assembly Square is 1.5 wide and I think would be perfect with a farmers' market in the middle. The Friends Taco Truck and market stands is a wonderful set.
  20. That look AMAZING but it's $190! I only paid $225 for the set. Post Office. I think the next one should be a post office, and if they need a secondary thing, a cupcake shop / bakery. There are plenty of things LEGO can do. Even if it's just an apartment building with a store or two on the bottom floor.
  21. Yes! I think that would be a lovely and would love to see it.
  22. Modern day teenagers are using Polaroid cameras. Why? What's the point when you have a smart phone? They still use them.
  23. I agree. It's fine, nothing special, could have been better. Does anyone light up their modulars? I'm building the Daily Bugle and I think it would be amazing with some third party lighting. Any suggestions?
  24. I wish LEGO would go back to one business every once and awhile. The Police station should have been the whole block. The Jazz Club should have been the whole block. Then LEGO could have made a split of the Donut shop and the Pizza Shop into it's own. However hindsight is 20/20 and that's not how LEGO does things. My favorite movie theater is black, all black tiles. It was built in the 1920s and has that style and feel that blues clubs have. I think changing the color from dark blue will really lesson the JC in the future. Like you said LEGO could have kept it dark blue and added some gold. Just noticed the lavender door on the first floor. What? Why? I don't get that. That's TERRIBLE!
  25. I guess it depends on what you plan on buying. I noticed you don't have the hotel from last year or corner garage. Are you planning on getting the hotel and the club? I'd go with the first setup, gives you a few extra spaces, less holes, and then in 2024 you can figure out a different setup.
