They're listed on Shop@Home with a release date of June 1. And the Elvenstar Tree is $120 AUD. What the hell has been going on with Australian pricing recently? Why is everything getting so massively marked up?

New Pirate Theme?
Fenghuang0296 replied to Fenghuang0296's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
You mean Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger? That would certainly be interesting, but if Lego did do something like that, they might get criticised for ripping off Super Sentai . . . Yeah, steampunk pirates would be awesome. It's not even much of a stretch. -
The Ninjago City Docks is $350 AUD? But $230 USD is equal to $300 AUD. What the hell? If I do get the Docks, it'll be my first D2C . . can I expect a sale? Any experienced people able to give me tips?

Holy crash, Season 9 looks so awesome! And we have the official name for this arc, too! "Hunted." I love it! It's perfect! I so cannot wait until it starts airing! I'm particularly interested by the fact that Lord Garmadon seems to be instituting some sort of oppressive regime. Here's hoping that the dragons we're seeing who don't have sets this wave will be represented next year, because we are way overdue for a water dragon and an updated ice dragon and creation dragon would be so awesome!

LEGO Nexo Knights 2018

You're grasping at straws, mate. Why not just print it out as a sticker and stick it over a spare shield tile?- 1,601 replies

So, does anyone else think that there may be a new, Chima/Nexo Knights-like, Pirates-based theme on the horizon? Because there's a lot of evidence to back the theory. Since Nexo Knights got canned, it's logical to expect that something's going to replace it, in the same way as Nexo Knights replaced Chima, and Chima was supposed to replace Ninjago (but, as we all know, that didn't work). And next year is the 40th anniversary of Pirates - what better way to celebrate it than with brand new Pirates stuff? And Lego has to know that people would love a genuine Pirates theme. I'm sure they learned from their mistake with Nexo Knights; personally, I really liked the high-tech thematic, but I know lots of people didn't, meaning that they're most likely going to breathe new life into classic Pirates if this does happen. Plus. there's the two Pirates-themed sets that have come up in the Creator lineup for Summer 2018, including the lovely rollercoaster. It's entirely possible that Lego is trying a bit of subtle cross-promotion. There's also the point of Overwatch sets coming next year; I feel like the similar aesthetics of Overwatch and Nexo Knights might have been a factor in NK getting canned. So it makes sense that the next original IP should be something that doesn't match any of the currently existing outside themes. Harry Potter will corner the market on Castle, and Star Wars continues to dominate Space. And, of course, City is, always has been, and will always be, City. And who's to say where Ninjago and Overwatch will end up going? (Seriously, Ninjago has done some weird stuff.) Pirates is the only one that's open, and they've already done Pirates in Ninjago, and I'm pretty certain there's nothing pirate-related in Overwatch. Finally, and this one might be a bit tenuous, I admit; Ninjago City Docks. They have released a massive set that is a dockyard. And, of course, there's no point in a dockyard without ships - and if there is a new Pirates theme, there absolutely HAS to be at least a couple of ships. The existence of the Docks, as a Ninjago Movie set, is admittedly confusing, given how late it is - but it makes more sense if you consider it as being a literal bridge between Ninjago, the most successful in-house property in the history of Lego, and this hypothetical new Pirates theme. I'm sure Lego expects kids to think of docking the inevitable large pirate ship at the Docks, and subsequently pressure their parents into getting two large sets for them. So, thoughts, everyone?

It got taken down, I'm not sure why. Sorry, but I didn't save the picture, so I can't help you see it. Still, it should be up again sooner or later. The Aragog set is cute and all, but I understand why people feel that it is redundant. I'm undecided; the duplicate minifigures bug me, but the torsos and wigs would be good for customs. (Harry's new hair is awesome, even though I wish they'd just pick a style and stick with it.) I guess I'll see if I have enough budget left over later in the year, and if there's enough room in my fantasy diorama for Aragog. What confuses me is; why wait so long to let us see it? It's not like it's anything special, why not just reveal it with the other Harry Potter sets?

Probably similar to Minecraft. After all, Overwatch can be boiled down to Minecraft PvP with guns and no building. And I would point you to the Siull Arena, which is pretty obviously a PvP-inspired set. (I know that's a massive oversimplification, but I've never played Overwatch, just looked on google images and read the wiki a bit. And my point is that Minecraft is also an open-world, first-person video game, and it works well enough in Lego.)

I doubt we'll get all 27 playable characters. (And, if memory serves, aren't they constantly adding more?) The only time that we've ever gotten a line-up of characters like that was when they dug through all the Z-list Batman villains for TLBM. And I highly doubt that 'The Lego Overwatch Movie' is going to be a thing anytime soon. I'Ve never played the game, and only ever had a passing interest in the idea. As long as I can get Tracer, Winston, D.Va (and her mech) and Mercy (because I want those wings as a new dual-molded part), as well as some cool location builds, I'll be satisfied.

Who said abything about a Summer 2019 release? The fact that we're hearing about it this early says Winter 2019 to me.

Okay, so, speaking as someone who has never played Overwatch and only knows that the game's main characters include a time traveller and a hyper-intelligent ape (also, Tracer is cool - says the noob. XD), what sort of things can we expect here?

LEGO Nexo Knights 2018
Fenghuang0296 replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Staff of Merlok. But yes, we are. And that bothers me. A lot. And if we have 't gotten helmetless Macy with an accurate hairstyle, I don't think we ever will. I'm resigned to the fact that part 62696: https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=62696&idColor=59#T=S&C=59&O={"color":59,"iconly":0} in Dark Red is as close as we'll ever get. Even though it will only fit if you take off her chest armour. -.-- 1,601 replies

Thank you. And yeah, I count the one in the Dragon Pit as (Finally!) a proper dragon for Cole. Though something bigger in a couple of waves would still be very welcome.

I'm hopeful that they're just saving it for next year. After all, to date there have only been two waves of Ninjago that hasn't had at least one dragon included - the first half of Rise of the Snakes (and that was mostly because of the product placement involved in the whole 'The Golden Weapons turn into vehicles!' thing) and S.O.G. (which was because they were setting up for the whole Dragon Hunter thing), with several (such as Skybound and and the pilot run) having multiple dragons. So there has to be a dragon included next year. Maybe some dragons, including an ice or water dragon for Zane or Nya, will follow the ninja back to Ninjago to help them fight Garmadon after the Dragon Hunters are defeated, and then we'll get sets of those dragons who weren't represented already in this wave? Honestly, I'm fine with the absence of an ice dragon - I still have the Titanium one from 2015 - but what I really want to see is a full, proper water dragon for Nya. Every other Ninja has had at least two, except Sensei, but even though she was able to summon an elemental water dragon from Skybound to Hands of Time, instead they gave us that ugly Fusion Dragon thing as though that made up for not giving Kai and Nya their own dragons. Not cool.

Future Marvel Superheroes Rumors & Speculation
Fenghuang0296 replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
That would be awesome. I love Skrulls. Here's hoping they'll look good in Lego. We've had three Black Panther variants (four counting gold Killmonger) to date (which is good, considering he's appeared in four sets) so two Captain Marvel variants is entirely possible. I don't think there are any particularly special vehicles associated with Captain Marvel (correct me if I'm wrong, though), but a Skrull or Kree spaceship would be great. As well as a location set. Locations are always good. And no, not like the Ragnarok sets. Those both had horrible price-per-part ratios. (At least, the Australian prices were whacked out. Not sure about what it was overseas.) -
Actually, I've already designed an MOC SoG HQ, built underneath a raised section of road. (On LDD, haven't built it IRL yet.) It's built on top of two crossroad road baseplates. (Gotta put the spares to use somehow, right?)

It's a good question. I hope we get more, though, because the Docks is absolutely amazing and I've already cleared space for it in my Village. I'm hoping that the next one (and if there isn't a next one, I'll MOC one) is some kind of 'endpoint' that could be put on the other side of Ninjago City (or mirrorbuilt and attached to the Docks) and make it all look satisfyingly complete. Because, well, let's be real, these aren't Modular Buildings, in spite of all the similarities. They won't last forever. My wallet is gonna be so mad at me, but it'll be worth every cent! I can't wait!

Marvel Superheroes 2018 - Set Discussion
Fenghuang0296 replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Amen. I missed the last two sets with Scarlet Witch, and I really hoped I could get her this time around. I still have a Bucky from Civil War, so he isn't a big deal. But War Machine and Tony are cool, and I definitely want Wong for my Sanctum. The place looks empty with only Doctor Strange.- 3,962 replies

We have official images of the actual sets too! And there is something BIG I'm seeing in the Skull Arena set . . I'm not sure if this is fake or what, but . . it looks like two minifigures with new skins are there. As in, NOT STEVE AND ALEX! It's probably fake, but if it's true, THIS IS AWESOME!!!

I just noticed this, but the Hogwarts Express doesn't have standard magnetic train couplings. Instead there are little Technic assemblies. This is going to make it difficult to make the train longer . . Yeah, he's vanished. Luckily, I've found someone else who seems just as well informed.

Jurassic World 2018 - Rumors and Discussion
Fenghuang0296 replied to Robert8's topic in LEGO Licensed
Totally possible. Though big molds like that are difficult, so it might have been like that either way. Honestly, I think that that statement was referring to the triceratops; it's been years since we saw one. It's totally possible that the moulds for the trike need to be replaced, but Harry Potter took away the budget so they had to make do with recolours of raptors and dilos. Here's we get triceratopses for JW3.- 1,290 replies

I'll admit it, I like those two trains. But my problem is, they're both very metropolitan, they only fit into a modern city. Neither of them will fit into my village's thematic - and that's saying something, considering the variety of buildings I have. Please, Lego, bring us something with more style! Like an updated Emerald Night!

Nya and Stone Harumi both look awesome. Bikers are good for army building. And future Jay . . well, it just proves that those Flashforward (is that the official name now?) suits are never going to appear in the actual show. Still, looks pretty good all the same.
