Haha, I remember that! I was just coming out of my last Dark age, that was fun!

Imagine Order of the Phoenix with Umbridge’s office. I’d buy that. Though I’d really love a book like these for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them - as in, the actual book that Newt wrote in-universe, not the movie. These books are cute but a bit useless, and I also really hope that the new torsos aren’t the new normal. Though that idea about using them as Prefect badges is smart, I might steal that. That said, if this is normal now it doesn’t bother me much, I still have the old torsos from the 2010 set run (when I was a kid) and I’m using them interchangeably to pad my Hogwarts student body. Love the new versions of McGonagall and Flitwick, and Sprout has dual-moulded legs yay! Kinda dropped the ball on Snape though Also they really love Cho huh . . That said, even though IMO the Slytherin set is the weakest of these, it’s also the most useful for my Hogwarts - which desperately needs dungeons and a Slytherin common room. So I might get that one. As for the other three, I’m conflicted because there are things I like about each of them, but if I get any of them it’ll probably be Ravenclaw for all those books and the lovely furniture. (And bearded Flitwick.) Is it just me or does he sorta look like the Penguin?

There is that rumoured D2C for next year. Maybe they’re testing the waters?

So how long until someone straps a TARDIS to one of these quadcopters? Really, I don’t think it’s that big a deal. I’m looking at those bunk beds and they look like they’d be pretty easy to turn upside-down. But it’s not like you can see inside the containers when they’re closed up anyway. I usually imagine LEGO models as not being exactly how they are but rather representations of larger structures. Cutaways and the like. Just imagine the crates being bigger on the inside. Also, if it’s seating capacity you’re after, keep in mind that turret is designed to fit Sandy. If you remove him you could probably fit at least three minifigures in the space he takes up.

Okay good point. I thought the same with the Iron Man Mech earlier this year. Maybe it’s just that the trans blue web pieces excite me . . eh we’ll see what happens.

How long until the Big Time and home-made suits leak? Seriously though those and the new Miles are all I care about figure wise this wave. I have zero attachment to Ghost Rider (though that might change if/when I watch Agents of Shield ) and I got Ghost Spider in the very first set she came in. Unless by some miracle the hood actually is printed on the inside I’ll skip her. I just really want to have a suit rack for Spidey to display all the variants of him.

Ooh, I actually really like the Tusken camp set now that I see it. It’ll look great with Obi-Wan’s hut. Definitely getting this one now!

I mean, if Beskar Mando is the only exclusive figure, and given there’s no way they won’t make more Mandalorian sets in the future and inevitably reuse the minifigure, then it sounds to me like this set was just a last-minute ‘we need something to tie in with Season 2’. If nothing else it sounds like it’ll be a cheap way to get the two main characters. Cheaper than getting the AT-ST and the big buildable Child, or the Razorcrest.

So I finally got my first MK set, the Food Truck, and it’s gorgeous. Over-the-top and zany but in a really fun way. I’d love to get more from the current wave, but I doubt I’ll be able to with the prices and also with the knowledge that the new Quadcopter set next year includes basically every major recurring character introduced so far (except Pigsy who I already got, the Horn Demons who seem incredibly unimportant, and Princess Iron Fan and DBK who I really don’t need) I’m having a hard time justifying getting any of the current ones. Except maybe the Dragon Horse Bike, but only because Mei’s my favourite character currently and I want both of her suit variants.

Finally got around to watching the show (concurrently with my finally having bought one of the sets, the Food Truck), and it is hilarious. The product placement is obvious, but if nothing else it’s a lot of fun! Best line of the show, though, was MK breaking the fourth wall and describing the Cloud Jet as ‘being easy to fly because it’s for ages 8 and up’. That . . that made me smile. ^^

Well they did call it ‘Ninjago City Docks’ when it was barely a dock at all. I think the ‘updated Temple of Airjitzu’ angle seems likely. Like a fusion of sorts between the Templemof Airjitzu and original Ninjago City.

Is it just me or are the Spider Queen and Mei wearing different outfits to previous sets? More green o; the former and more gold on the latter. It’s interesting. I really hope this set is priced well now, I want it more and more the more I look at it.

If anyone’s wondering, as far as I can tell, the Nian set has a footprint of about 42x22 studs. That’s gonna be tricky to fit into my layout.

Oh, really? Okay that’s cool, and also explains why the animation I found seems to demonstrate Ox Mascot Guy as some kind of superhero scaring away the . . we’re sure that’s a dragon, right? I can kind of see it but it looks way too similar to the lions from 2020.

Okay wow that garden . . it is literally built to go with Modular buildings. That’s . . huh. That’s not what I expected at all. It’s pretty gorgeous though. Definite maybe from me, and that’s mostly because I’m not sure I have space or budget to get it. And the . . um . . winter firework castle? I don’t really know what to make of this one and I think I’ll need to see the interior before making up my mind. The big lion is great, but it’s . . honestly sort of plain. Just a lot of outdoor space to pose minifigures and the big lion without a lot of, well, detail. It’s definitely the less interesting of the two but it still looks neat, albeit somewhat incomplete personally. Though it’ll definitely look good with the Winter Village sets. Maybe it’s some kind of Chinese New Year/Winter Village crossover? That’s kind of a cool idea, having sets that blend the design elements of two recurring themes.

Huh. Okay for a vehicle this actually looks pretty cool. Mixed feelings about the weird . . those are supposed to be shipping containers that unfold into bedrooms for Kid and Mei, right? I assume the idea is that the huge drone lets them attach to the bottom and then drops them like a mobile base . . or something? Not sure why the villain base build needed a design like that but it’s cool enough. Plus it has quite a lot of minifigures, including two new ones. If by some miracle the price is actually reasonable I might get this one . . so, probably not. Oh well.

A new Kai figure leaked with his own brand new headband wig, and . . um . . he’s pink? Might just be someone messing with the colour and it’s supposed to be red but . . return of the pink ninja! XD Also he’s using a Batman utility belt. Assuming that’s supposed to be red, that’s interesting since that part has only ever been red on Skylor’s 2019 suit . . aww, it’s a couples’ belt! That’s so romantic! I mean this could be fake, but I really hope not it’s a great look.
