So why is there no 2021 Friends topic? Especially because sets are starting to pop up. I just got the Heartlake City Park. It’s cute!

Oh, you think it’s removable? That would make sense! I thought it would be integrated semi-permanently. Huh. Here’s hoping! -

You’re going to have to make it Gardens - Docks - City, left to right. Apparently Gardens is an ‘end module’. -

Damnit damnit damnit Gardens is some kind of end module then? I was planning to put it between the two sections of the Docks that I split in half down the middle. I’m going to have to do a lot of modifications to both of them to make it work now! Damnit! -
Also, this is, what, 7 ABY? (To be honest I barely understand the Star Wars calendar so I’m probably wrong.) Same approximate time period as The Mandalorian. The New Republic is still sorting itself out and getting its shit together. They can’t afford to go fight the Triumvirate over some backwoods planet that’s both of no strategic value to them and not even part of the New Republic.

Because it’s been two months. Call it meta-gaming if you want (and in my defence I didn’t actually know the leaders of the Triumvirate were supposed to be secret, sorry about that.), but I never said that this happened immediately after your despicable attack on Skye. That happened, what, two months ago? Ish? I don’t doubt that the Triumvirate did a pretty good job keeping it under wraps, but you can’t expect to keep a planetary invasion like that secret forever. Eventually rumours spread, people go to investigate, survivors escape and spread the word - say that one in 100,000 inhabitants of Skye manage to evade your agents and escape (and honestly that’s lowballing it), then weigh that against a planetary population of . . I’m gonna say 2-3 billion. It only takes one refugee (or defector, there have to be a few TT grunts who aren’t comfortable with genocide) sitting down for an interview. You just can’t keep a secret like planetary genocide forever. EDIT: Oh, also it just occurred to me; what about people coming to Skye after the attack? Are you just going to take prisoner every merchant, every trader, every bounty hunter, every tourist who enters the sector? No, I expect you’ll be turning them away. And then they’ll tell people that there’s a blockade around Skye. And when people start wondering why there’s a blockade around Skye, all those refugees talking about genocide will sound a little less crazy. As for the tiles, I wanted to tile it. I would have. But life got hectic, I had to put aside LEGO for a couple of weeks leading up to Christmas, and I just ran out of time. Next time I guess.

Porg shop. Haha. I like the signs, and the technique with the trans neon orange up top! -
*Your entry has earned 3 XP* No Holding Back Astrid Speccroix’ Logs #4 “On behalf of the Babylonian administration of Atirisia, I hereby publicly condemn the recent actions of the Imperial Remnant known as the Triumvirate,” The words of Trairellas Tyfun, Architect-Queen of Atirisia, were clear across the airwaves “Their actions are deplorable and disgusting and have no place in this galaxy, and New Babylon will do everything in its power to oppose the agendas of these monsters,” Polite applause echoed as Lady Tyfun stepped down from the podium, finding Astrid waiting with her bodyguard, Kite. “. . Is that it?” Astrid asked. “What do you mean?” “No troops, no military mobilisation? Just ‘I think this is bad’? I thought you said you were going to help!” Tyfun pursed her lips and chose her words carefully. “I understand what you’re going through, but I can’t leave our planet undefended. That would make us vulnerable to an incursion of our own,” The Sky’tri looked like she was about to scream, but - to both women’s surprise - the Mandalorian between them raised a hand. “Lady Tyfun, if I may?” “Of course,” the ruler said with a slight frown. “Decades ago, Mandalore suffered a similar incursion. At the time, the Empire was strong. Unappeasable. We had no hope, and we fled. I was only a child at the time, and I recovered this armour from my father’s remains,” Kite turned to Astrid, grimacing behind her helmet. “I know you’d rather not hear it, but I think I know a little of what you’re going through, and what may yet be in store for your people,” “My people aren’t warriors. We’re not . . Mandalorians,” Astrid replied, her voice empty. “They’ll break under Imperial subjugation,” “I know. But we still have a chance to stop that,” Kite turned to her liegelady. “Ma’am . . Trairellas,” Her eyes widened imperceptibly at being addressed by name by her bodyguard. That was a rare occasion indeed. “I won’t stand by and watch as Skye becomes the next Mandalore. I’m going to do what I can, and I hope that you and BSP-Ace will join us . . I know it’s a risk, but Atrisia is CFS space. If the Triumvirate attacked here they’d need to commit a lot of effort for not much gain, and they know they’d never hold the planet when our allies came to our rescue,” “I . . alright,” Tyfun nodded. “I’ll call in a few favours. We have allies who’ll be willing to send aid. And I’ll deploy the Stormwing,” Kite nodded her gratitude, because no one could see her smile. “Thank you,” “Y-yeah,” Astrid looked at them both, but focused on Kite. “Thank you,” “We had better get to it, then,” Lady Typhoon declared, briskly setting off. Astrid followed. “Uh, one question. What’s the Stormwing?”

*Your entry has earned 4 XP* The Edge of Loss And Vengeance Astrid Speccroix’s Logs #3 “I sympathise with your world’s plight, but there’s only so much I can do,” Lady Trairellas Tyfun, Architect-Queen of Atrisia, told Astrid as they strolled through the lower market district of New Babylon, capital city of Atrisia. “You brought your world from ruins into a golden age. All I’m asking is that you do the same with Skye,” Astrid begged. “It’s not that simple. The Triumvirate has laid claim to Skye,” Lady Tyfun pointed out. “Even if I commit my whole fleet, the Babylon Sector Patrol is nothing compared to the military might of an Imperial Remnant,” “Please. It’s an outpost. A token presence. They won’t put up much of a fight if the CFS tries to take it,” the diplomat scoffed. Lady Tyfun nodded, but before she could respond they were interrupted by a local vendor. “The finest antique artefacts of Atrisia, here for your perusal, good ma’am! Come and walk away with a bargain! I have vintage 5-TUD shooters, genuine Jar’kai duelling sabres, and an antique plasma-screen holonet device, once known as a ‘teller-fission’! And it still works!” Before anyone could say anything to stop him, he pressed a button and the galactic news appeared on the ancient screen. “The galaxy is reeling as reports surface of the ISD Pandemonium’s maiden voyage over Marat V, known by the locals as Skye, and the turbolaser barrage ordered by Grand Moff Barthol that destroyed the planet’s primary spaceport. Initial body counts indicate millions dead, with estimates reaching as high as ten percent of the planet’s population slaughtered,” Astrid blinked, staring at the screen in disbelief. It had to be wrong. It was . . an old broadcast maybe? But the dates lined up . . “No . . they . . what . . no,” “That’s . . your home world, isn’t it?” Lady Tyfun slowly realised. “They . . they can’t have . . how could they? . . . they’re going to pay,” she mumbled. “Who?” “EVERYONE! Barthol, the Triumvirate, anyone who dares wear that damn armour! I’m - I’m going to slaughter them all!” Astrid roared. In the moment of silence that followed, her eyes slid to the long white blade resting, abandoned, in the junk shop’s bin. With decisive motions she strode over to the bay and picked it up. “What did you say this was? A dueling sabre?” “Why, uh, yes! It’s a genuine Jar’kai dueling sabre, a relic of the empire that existed on Atrisia -“ “I don’t care as long as it can carry an edge. How much?” (So this is a bit late because, well, life. I think it turned out well though. Even if I am still pissed that I had to do it to begin with . .)

LEGO Ninjago 2021
Fenghuang0296 replied to Driver Brandon Grumman's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Ooh, hope so! The fate of Krux and Acronix is one of the biggest loose ends in the show! I’d really love to see that resolved! Huh. Most of the Legacy sets have maintained simple and descriptive names, so I guess things like “Attack of the Morro Dragon” are out in that case. Hate to say it but the Jay Walker One’s probably one of the most likely, which sucks because it’s yet another dull old Ninja car, and considering what they did to the X-1 . . meh. I’m vaguely hoping for a rerelease of the Ninja DBX? That one was cool, for a Ninja vehicle anyway, and I didn’t get it way back when and kinda regret that. Legacy versions of Sensei Garmadon and white Pythor would be cool too! -
LEGO Ninjago 2021
Fenghuang0296 replied to Driver Brandon Grumman's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Yeah. It seems like LEGO is trying to put more focus on fewer themes. Remember the Trolls: World Tour and Rise of Gru lines? Oh, and Angry Birds a while back? It seems that LEGO doesn’t believe in one-off themes with little to no tie-in media; in the digital age kids just don’t walk into a toy shop and buy things that look interesting like Space Police or Monster Fighters over tie-ins to properties they’re already familiar with. Ninjago’s ongoing cartoon airs all over, and kids will be familiar with the characters at this point. Chima and Nexo Knights also both had cartoons, and Hidden Side had animated webisodes and an app - but even those weren’t very popular, which might be why Hidden Side kinda collapsed. -

Another weird Bounty offshoot? Yawn . . okay actually a big submarine might be very cool but we do not need to get a version of the Bounty over and over and over again. Fingers crossed those last two sets are both villain centric. Out of the four ninja vehicle sets we’ve heard about so far, the Water dragon is the only one that sounds interesting. (Fire dragon could be cool but I still have Firstborne from 2018 sooo . . ) There’s usually a big villain base, and I’m really hoping that 71755 is some kind of Ninjago version of Atlantis. -

I believe it is this part, which already exists in dark blue, silver, and light aqua. Silver might be your best choice. https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=22390&idColor=95#T=C&C=95 Personally though I really like the tower. It stands out nicely. I hope the interior is some kind of radio station. -
LEGO Ninjago 2021
Fenghuang0296 replied to Driver Brandon Grumman's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Hey everyone remind me, did Ninjago City ever go on sale? Given this one has the same price tag as the original, I’d expect it to be $499 AUD. Which is still good for the part count but I’d feel like an idiot buying it for that much and then watching it drop to $399 later. I never got the original, didn’t have enough money for it. -

Also, is it just me or does Thena use a recoloured version of that Forbidden Spinjitzu bladed staff piece that they made for Aspheera and the Ice Emperor?
