LEGO Star Wars 2020 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
Fenghuang0296 replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Sorry to derail the Gunship discussion, but there’s images floating around on #legoleaks of a new, smaller TIE and Imperial Shuttle. Do we think these are legit? Because I remember a new TIE on the smaller side was rumoured for next year but don’t think we heard anything about an Imperial Shuttle . . ? Personally I think they both look great and would like to get them both. -
I mean I just never updated my figs with movie hair/faces so the ‘casual ninja’ in my city all still look like they did in Hands Of Time . . but I’m totally up for new wigs. Though I doubt there’ll be exclusive moulds for each ninja. I could maybe see them recycling the Cole one across Cole, Lloyd and Jay, then doing one shared between Kai and Nya and one for Zane. Or I could be totally wrong.

(J21 - Imynusoph - CFS) Swoop Chase on Imynusoph
Fenghuang0296 replied to Fenghuang0296's topic in Factions Archive
Thanks! Heh, over in the CFS discord goatman said something about a ‘lamp post part in a different colour’ when someone else was working on their swoop. I’m pretty sure he just meant a 6L bar, but it sorta just struck me that I could do something like that and I went “heeeey,” Honestly, I’m sorta new to the whole MOCcing scene. I’ve been a LEGO collector all my life, but I mostly buy and modify existing sets. The whole ‘building something from scratch’ thing is something I haven’t done much before joining Factions, so I’m probably too used to ‘official’ techniques and design styles. Still, I’m going to keep working on it. Thanks for your input! -
Show Your Army, Navy, and Collection Display

Dude that’s so awesome! Minor quibble slash thing to keep in mind when you build something bigger; the TIE Striker should really be at the bottom, not the top, since it’s an in-atmosphere fighter, not a starfighter like most of the other TIEs. I know it’s minor but it bugs me. Still, your collection is incredible. -

(J21 - Imynusoph - CFS) Swoop Chase on Imynusoph

Here you go! Sorry about the shadows and stuff, I'm working on a proper photography setup but aren't quite there yet. -
*Your entry has earned 5 XP (x2 for limited challenge)* Astrid Speccroix’s Logs #2 I hope this thing’s working. I’m on Imynusoph, trying to make contact with some local CFS sympathisers. The CFS say they can’t help me take back Skye without using Imynusoph as a launch point, which means we need to establish a strong CFS presence on here. But I think I got someone’s attention; don’t know who, but he was staking out the CFS house here and started shooting at me. I decided to take my swoop and lose him in the jungle. He really shouldn’t have tried to outfly a Sky’tri. We were made for this, after all.

Winter Village Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Fenghuang0296 replied to Gearslover01's topic in LEGO Town
So you want to build a Batcave style suit-up feature, except with Santa suiting up into Dusty Santa, into someone’s house? The Clubhouse is cute and I do like the bunk bed feature, though I’m honestly not as excited for this one. If the rumours about the Downtown Diner retiring after only three years are true then I really need to get that before the end of the year, which means I’ll probably have to skip the Elf Clubhouse this year and reconsider next year. -
Hahahaha that’s sorta depressing . . really, the Destiny’s Shadow belonged to Lloyd (though the Shadow, which is one of my all-time favourite Ninja vehicles, managed to avoid the colour scheme of any one specific Ninja. Somehow.), the Katana VII was Kai’s and so is this new catamaran, and it’s frankly anyone’s guess who the various Bounties belonged to - though Nya did build the second one (the one that appeared at the end of Tournament of Elements and was used until its destruction in Hands of Time) so you could sorta argue that one belonged to her.
-
I think the main thing that excites me about those leaks is the Elemental Masters (after they were in LEGO Dimensions, why did it take so long for us to get Gravis and Jacob?) and the teal dragon. Another fire-themed boat, though . . seriously . . here’s hoping the temple looks good. Also, is this supposed to be a Nya wave? Was that ever confirmed? Because this doesn’t sound like a Nya wave.

Uh . . I don’t disagree with considering the Ninjago seasons to be insular - if anything, the current state of the show does remind me of the period between Rebooted and Hands of Time when the show runners were worried that any given season might be the last - there’s actually quite a lot of unanswered questions in the show at present. We haven’t seen Pythor since he vanished in Day of the Departed with an ominous promise to Lloyd, Garmadon has been AWOL since March of the Oni, Krux and Acronix were thrown somewhere into the future and will probably come out of a wormhole sooner or later, and in the most recent season, Vangelis was mining Vengestone and shipping it off to an as-yet-unknown buyer. Obviously we can’t be sure that the plot line that seems to have started there won’t wrap up in the 2021 waves - for all I know, the four show sets we have names for, the Lloyd buggy, Jungle Dragon, Keeper Village and Catamaran, might be about Pythor and Garmadon together . . I don’t know, using the catamaran to ship the Vengestone they need to build an altar to summon an ancient evil plant dragon that the Keepers on a distant island, who turn out to be the descendants of Krux and Acronix who were actually thrown far back into the past, have kept contained for generations. (That’s just me spitballing, mind,) I’m not saying that would be a good ending, but it’d certainly be an ending that resolved all the plot threads. Still, it does seem to me like Ninjago’s warming up for its third major cross-season story arc (fourth if you count the vague connections that exist between Tournament of Elements, Ghost Story and Skybound). Though I guess we’ll know more depending on what happens in Winter 2021.

Marvel Superheroes 2020 - Rumors & Discussion
Fenghuang0296 replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Aw, thanks! Pretty proud of that. Meh to the mechs, personally. I’d be very surprised if they redid Hobgoblin, and agreed Electro would be great. Same for Kingpin and Daredevil, though if they’re going to do any version of Kingpin it’ll likely be the Spider-Verse version, which would require a bigfig, which might be more than they’re willing to spend. Honestly, as great as a bigfig Kingpin or Lizard would be, any set they were in would inevitably have trashy builds - oh on that note, if we’re listing villains we want to see, I would love a Lizard. Any version really - though I have a soft spot for Peter Parker as the Lizard from Ghost Spider’s universe. A villain hideout would definitely be more interesting than the Spidey-Hideyhole, but if that were it it would probably be mentioned in the set name. It’s not like they called the Ghost Rider set ‘Spider-Man Car’. Spider-Knight would be awesome. I remember him from Ultimate Spider-Man, I’d love to see him in LEGO form. But that was in 2014, and as far as I know he hasn’t appeared in any media since . . then again neither has Amadeus Cho’s Iron Spider (I think) and we got him in the Venomosaurus. Though Iron Spider had a much larger role in that show. Also, eh . . who’s Silk? -
DC Superheroes 2020 - Rumors & Discussion
Fenghuang0296 replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
I mean, in fairness. Two out of three of the Justice League sets from 2017 were big-megablocks Batman vehicles. (The Flying Zfox was actually pretty cool though, I kinda regret missing it.) The 2018 wave was pretty great though. -
Resist . . urge to rant . . about how terrible . . that movie was . . You mean Lloyd (and his technicolor backup dancers)? I wouldn’t even call them the same characters, they just have the same names.

Marvel Superheroes 2020 - Rumors & Discussion
Fenghuang0296 replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Honestly I’m not incredibly optimistic for this wave. The Spider-Man Hideout might, might might might, have some interesting content. In 2018 we got Ghost Spider and Miles Morales, then Ghost Spider was repeated this year. Given the Venomosaurus set contains currently-exclusive versions of Iron Spider and Spider-Ham, I fully expect one of those two to be repeated in a 2021 set while the other will remain exclusive. (I’d say it’s a 70-30 chance in favour of Iron Spider since Spider-Ham needs that expensive special head mould whereas Iron Spider is just existing parts and a couple of exclusive prints. Plus, if the Spidey-Hidey-Hole DOES contain a suit rack then Iron Spider is perfect because of how in some versions Iron Spider is a separate character and sometimes it’s an alternate suit for Spidey.) Comics Mysterio is 100% going to reappear in another set. It wouldn’t surprise me if Noir or Anya also reappeared, likely in the Monster Truck set. Something that big will almost definitely have two heroes. Still, we can hope for one or two new villains, or at least versions thereof. Are there any villains who Ghost Rider often tangles with but are part of Spider-Man’s rogues gallery? Also, I might be wrong but I think we now have every mainstream alternate version of Spider-Man except Peni Parker and Sp//dr, and I think if Sp//dr was in a set it would have been mentioned in the name. Peter, Miles, Gwen, Noir and Ham from Spiderverse, Anya from the 2017 series . . I guess we haven’t gotten Superior Spider-Man. And Madame Web was in the last season of the older Spider-Man show. Are there any other Spiders we might expect to see as new figures in these sets? -
Disney Princesses 2020 - Rumors & Discussion
Fenghuang0296 replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Same bland old princesses in January, pass. But I’m definitely interested in the Raya and the Last Dragon sets. I hope they put the same amount of effort into these as they do the Frozen sets, as opposed to the effort they put into . . well . . every other Princess. But I’ll never be opposed to a new dragon for my dragon shelf, and hopefully the Palace will have some fun designs or at least good playability. (Can’t imagine a bog-standard princess boat being worth my money, mind, so unless it has exclusive figures or some really interesting design work, probably pass,) -

Aw. At that price point I was actually hoping for Batman and Joker Mechs, like what they’ve been doing over in Marvel. My Batcave could definitely use a Batman Mech . . -

Part of me really wants that to happen. The other part of me thinks that it would make my having already installed those four in a house in my city a little bit redundant. (Pet dinosaurs aren’t illegal. :P) -
After so long, I’m not sure I believe it.

Marvel Superheroes 2020 - Rumors & Discussion
Fenghuang0296 replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
So you want it to be half Hall of Armour and half Batcave? That sounds perfect. I hope that’s exactly it. :P In all seriousness, though, the Spidey hideout has me excited. I’ve been working on a Spider-Man base and if it does turn out to have some kind of Spider-Man suit rack that’d be awesome. I’ve been meaning to build one myself as a place in my city to store the 2013-6, 2017, Iron Spider and Stealth suits. Fingers crossed! Though I honestly can’t decide if I’d prefer a suit rack to be a unique design or one that matches the Hall of Armour/Armoury for combination potential . . and I know this is all hypothetical and nothing is confirmed but still, exciting! As for other sets, more meh mechs. Pity. And I see the dumb busts aren’t limited to Star Wars. If there’s a new Thanos and Miles Morales that mignt be cool . . actually wait, wouldn’t these sets have been in development right around when Into the Spider-Verse was released? Possibly a rather late tie-in? Either way, most of these seem uninteresting. Hope I’m wrong though, or at least that the latest Spider-Man vehicles (Spider-Monster-Truck? Isn’t that just the crappy car from the Venomosaurus set as its own build?) have some interesting and exclusive characters. -
Marvel Superheroes 2020 - Rumors & Discussion
Fenghuang0296 replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Do we have a source for MODOK or is that just speculation? Personally I find it very interesting that Kang shows up in Ant-Man 3. But I doubt it’ll be his ‘first appearance’ per se, being a time traveller. I suspect the main reason he’s going to show up here is that he’s the villain of a future Avengers movie, in which Ant-Man is somehow pivotal to defeating him, and he’s travelled back in time to kill Ant-Man before that happens. -

I mean, I could definitely see them doing a Batman Mech. There’s definitely more precedent for it than the Spider-Man Mech. So does anyone think they’ll keep using the same Iron Man in next year’s sets or might we get a new variant? I really hope they update him; there was a time when we got a new Iron Man every year. I actually counted, the Mark 6/7 in 2012, Heartbreaker and 42 in 2013, 44 in 2014, Space and Scuba in 2015, 46 in 2016, 47 and Invincible in 2017, 50 in 2018, and we’ve just been spoiled with the Hall/Armoury the past couple of years . . so technically it’s still that time now. I really hope LEGO doesn’t end the streak, I’m already sick of the Enix suit. -
Harry Potter 2020 - Rumors & Discussion
Fenghuang0296 replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Huh, I’m actually looking forward to the 2021 Star Wars sets more than I have any Star Wars wave in a while. I’ve long held the opinion that the recent huge, bulky, expensive ships take up way too much space, so I’m thrilled to get an X-Wing and TIE on the smaller, cheaper side. Plus the rumoured Mandalorian set is probably going to be interesting. (Though it does suck that there won’t be any Clone Wars sets.) I’m looking forward to the books and not just for the minifigures; building furniture is one of my weak points as a MOCcer, so if these books contain a lot of pre-built furniture that I can use to populate the custom empty rooms in my Hogwarts AND house symbol parts and stuff then it’s perfect for me. I just really hope the Hufflepuff book contains at least one Hufflepuff uniform, I need more Hufflepuff students.
