So, I'm trying to design a set of docks to add to my Winter Village, and also want to add a river that feeds through part of the town and into the docks, and I'm wondering, what are the best (preferably cost-effective) techniques to design water for rivers and docks? Does anyone have suggestions?

Wow. This is great. I particularly like the way you've designed the bottom floor to look like it's underwater. Good work!

[WIP] Clocktower square. My latest Modular MOC.

That looks great, a really innovative and lovely design for a Modular! -
What's 2HY?

Well, I *kind of* agree that The Dive Shop feels a little too similar to Old Fishing Store, but Boat House Diner is an innovative concept that looks beautiful and I'd definitely buy it if it were released. As for The Lighthouse . . it doesn't appeal to me personally, (the whole 'island where the water level has fallen and exposed the sea bed' thing doesn't work for me) but it is impressive.

Winter Village Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Fenghuang0296 replied to Gearslover01's topic in LEGO Town
They're both fake. The Market outright says 'Lepin' and one of the promotional images for the Train Station shows the bus crossing the rail without its roof on. Official LEGO would never make a mistake like that. -
So, it appears that Ideas builder RobenAnne is determined to start his own Winter Village-esque series of buildings. Starting with the one everyone's seen, 21310 Old Fishing Store, it seems like three new buildings are going to be joining it; the makings of an early nineteenth century beachfront if I ever saw one. We have The Lighthouse, The Dive Shop, and Boat House Diner. Personally, I'm looking forwards to Boat House Diner the most; it will surely be able to take pride of place in my village's docks. What does everyone think? (Couldn't upload images, but they can be found at this link;) https://www.brothers-brick.com/2018/01/08/7-new-projects-qualify-lego-ideas-review-news/

Ninjago wish list: Most wanted minifigures
Fenghuang0296 replied to Dr.Cogg's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Ooh, here's mine; 1. Dr. Julian 2. Ed in a show-accurate set of overalls (I was so pissed when the Movie's Lightning Jet set got him wrong (white and brown instead of blue and green. Ergh.), especially since he wasn't even in the movie. So where the hell did that suit come from?.) 3. The Mechanic 4. Pink Zane 5. Mutt The Mute (If we can get Zane pretending to be a biker, we can get Lloyd pretending to be a pirate. Right? Right?) . . . Of course, now that that's done, here's my secondary list: 1. Dr. Julian 2. Dr. Julian 3. Dr. Julian 4. Dr. Julian 5. You guessed it . . . The Fuchsia Ninja! "SURPRISE!" -
Jealous, they won't show up on around here for a couple of weeks yet. -.- I can hardly wait.

Awesome, thanks so much. :) And nope, this'll be easier than I thought. That is a white 2x2x2/3 inverse curved tile under the tail, right? Because I was always planning to use a spare ball joint (same ones as used for the lion's legs) for the connection to maximise posability. It doesn't need to be straight or anything. All I'll have to do is take that off, put the joint and a standard white 2x2 plate in its place (maybe an inverted round 2x2? I'm sure I have a couple of those lying around), and then attach the other half of the joint to the harness with a couple of extra plates. After that it's just a matter of keeping the lion's tail curved to the side so it doesn't whip in Azari's face. XD Huh, so they are wings. Weird . . . oh, oh oh oooh. I get it now! Just like Liska the 'fox' is actually a kitsune, and Cyclo the 'dragon' is actually a wyvern, Rowan the 'lion' is actually a sphinx! . . Now I'm wondering if I need to brush up on my cryptozoology and figure out if Cory the turtle is also actually some kind of mythical creature. I'll have to turn them into proper wings, then, not just those flame wings. Probably using the flame yellowish orange wings off that Fire Chariot Pegasus. (Plus I need those pearl gold 1x1s with bars to make Lumia's eagle form's legs match the show better - the box art clearly shows that her legs are white and claws are gold, but those colours are reversed in the model. I won't stand for it.)

Disney Princesses 2018 - Rumors & Discussion
Fenghuang0296 replied to Robert8's topic in LEGO Licensed
The sets have interchangeable parts. You could, for example, take off that balcony piece with the gold railing on Aurora's Castle and put Mulan's little shrine thing on it instead. All the modules are built on 8x8 baseplates, except the bottom part of Aurora's castle which is an 8x16 and Tremaine Manor, which can't be attached but has four slots for 8x8 modules to be attached. Also, it seems like they're all the same height, so you could put the bedroom part of Aurora's castle right next to one of the towers of the Manor, and then put the part with the entrance on top of them both to hold it together. I think so, anyway. I've also noticed there's specifically five princesses who get modular sections like this (if you leave out Maleficient - not that I ever want to leave her out) so if you collect all five sets and then arrange Cinderella's Manor and Aurora's Castle like so, then you could put one module from each into the assembly. Like an all-star castle mashup for all the princesses. (Though that little dock segment on Elsa's that juts out might complicate things.) I thought this seemed pretty obvious - it's the same basic structure as the new Creator Modular Buildinfs, just without the interchangeable door and window parts - but no one seems to have explained it, so I figured I should. JANGBRICKS' review of the Tremaine Manor includes a shot of a poster that demonstrates this pretty well. (About 11:34.) I- 135 replies

Yeah. Huh. Red sheep is cool, but . . seriously, I was certain there'd be an End City, Woodland Mansion or Desert Temple . . maybe they'll surprise us with a D2C like last year?
-
Are we certain that Pursuit in the Air is a Kai vehicle? Because if you add that to the SOG Katana VII, then that makes three vehicles for Kai in a single year. That would be a new record. I think the Pursuit is a bad guy vehicle, maybe belonging to the Royal Family's guards, which just happens to share Kai's colour scheme. Red and gold, very royal colours. (Shame they didn't go with purple/gold like I wanted, but we're getting an entire wave devoted mostly to dragons so I shouldn't complain.)

Skull arena? . . Maybe something underground with a fossil? Bedrock adventures sounds interesting . .

I did already say that. And I'll bet the sum total price of every Elves set for the year. Because I know I'm gonna be dropping that much anyway. XD

In that case I kind of hope we don't get a CMF . . . Still, can't wait to see set images. The LEGO Movie happened during a dark age for me, so I missed most of the sets. I have a Unikitty thanks to LEGO Dimensions, but I kind of want to preserve it . .

I am very curious as to what these are gonna be like.

When can we expect the episodes to start airing? Because now I honestly can't wait. Also, that baby was laughing like a tiny Garmadon. Interesting . . Maybe we'll get the in that Throne Room Summer set? Then again, it's been six years now and we've still never gotten Dr. Julian.

Wait, wait wait wait WAIT. The Technic pin holes on Noctura's tower. None of these three sets contain a structure that the tower could thusly be attached to. Unless at some point in the show Noctura merges her tower with the Elvenstar Treehouse? But I don't think that's likely . . point is, what are they for?

Okay, so we were wrong about there being another, male Light elf who can become a wolf. Lumia is a shapeshifter with the ability to take several different forms. (I wonder if one of the other sets might include a small alternate form for her, like a chipmunk or squirrel maybe?) And I'm seeing a treehouse that definitely looks a lot like the one that was burnt down by the goblins in 2017 (I knew it!), as well as an evil carriage for Nocturna. There's also going to be a brick-built Dark World portal as an accessory in one of the sets. So maybe another small set with Lumia's wolf form, a medium size set with Noctura's carriage and the portal, and a large treehouse set? (Of particular note; I spotted that the four parts of the Elvenstar have been hung, separately, on each of the four parts of the treehouse. Interesting.) The treehouse is a must-have for me (even though it looks smaller than I'd hoped - eh, nothing a few spare parts can't fix), and so's the wolf, but unless the wolf and carriage turn out to come in the same set I'll probably give the carriage a miss. (Is that supposed o be a bat attached to it? It looks weird and unfinished.) Still, these certainly look good. Can't wait for official images.

No, the walls of the cave. That way they'd look like ice. You're probably right. It'll still be cool. :)
