Thank you, glad you like it. You started it all! Thanks. Standing at 40cm in total, it is pretty big for a minifig. The walls are dark blueish grey, the big ornaments and small roof are tan, the wooden parts are reddish brown. Thank you.

Lovely build! The first picture is my favourite, it absolutely captures the spirit of the workplace. I think the roof would look better with less colours used, but other than that I like the whole build alot. Well done!- 10 replies

Brethren of the Brick Seas (BoBS) Intro Thread, Era II
Darnok replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Everybody, have a good new year 2019 in the real world, and a jolly new 619 in Brethren of the Brick Seas! May you always have some trans-blue bricks under the keel, and golden doubloons at the end of your journeys. Happy building, and good times for all of you! -
Brethren of the Brick Seas (BoBS) Intro Thread, Era II
Darnok replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Tonight marks not only the beginning of a new year, but also the fact that Mesabi Landing is the first Grand City of the Brick Seas! Yes sir, Mesabi Landing might not be the biggest settlement in BotBS (yet), but it is (and forever will be) the first player settlement that has reached the level of "Grand City". Fireworks across the globe are testament of worldwide celebrations! First and most important of all I want to thank @Mesabi, whose child this was and is: could not have done it without you, I think we are a good team! I also want to thank @LM71Blackbird, who has contributed a considerable amount of builds to the settlement, and is a great Corrington ally IC and OOC. The same is true for @Ayrlego, thank you too! In no particular order, my thanks also go to everybody else who has built in and for Mesabi Landing, namely @Lord Buckethead, @Brickwolf, @Maxim I, @Legostone and @Kai NRG. The journey was good fun so far, and I will continue to build for Mesabi Landing - to make it the largest and greatest settlement in the Brick Seas! -

"Books for the people" (large factory) Railside Moonshine (small factory) Shot Tower (medium factory)- 33 replies

Towards the inner lands of Argentia, just outside of Mesabi Landing, stood the latest step in WTC weapon production: a newly erected shot tower. Inside shot balls of small calibers were produced: molten lead was poured from above, cooled down in freefall, and was caught in a water basin down below. The balls are checked for roundness and sorted by size - the whole process resulted in better spherical shapes, was faster and cheaper than older methods. A WTC Marine proudy guards the latest production run: ====================================================================================================== Licensed as a medium factory for Mesabi Landing. The idea to build a shot tower came from a discussion with @Mesabi, who brought the concept to my attention. To my big surprise the very first example listed in the wikipedia article - the Schrotkugelturm in Berlin Rummelsburg - is pretty close to my home! Here are some more pictures of mine, I am sure you can spot were some of the inspiration for my build came from. I am pretty happy with the result, and might add some interior details later. Maybe for this one, maybe for another one - I am sure the process can still be refined by the WTC... As always, C&C are appreciated!

I do not think I can add anything that has not been said before already. Absolutely incredible build, close to perfection. This might sound odd, but: why not sell the license to Oleon or one of its players? @blackdeathgr, @Captain Genaro and in particular @Phred can easily afford it (as can the general Oleon account), and as an A&C property this gives them some nice bonus. Negotiate something beneficial and cash in I say! Then burrow the doubloons somewhere for later - it is the Sea Rats way! -
The time leading up to the Merrynight of 618 had brought many mysteries to Mesabi Landing. Among other things, it made the WTC set up a factory for a variety of products. .. .. .. It had been pretty busy and productive the last weeks, and while Merrynight had come and gone, the production would continue. For profits were much higher if you not just gave away stuff, but charged people for it! As a WTC Operator had mentioned to Mordo just days ago: "Well, toys are a profitable business, so I think we should keep it operational. New shiny stuff every six months or so, overpriced of course. Ripping off kids and their parents is easy!" "Hohum, good idea to be honest. Make it so!" ==================================================================================================== As seen in the WTC Advent Calendar 2018, to be licensed as a medium factory for Mesabi Landing. Some more pictures - and of course more story - can be found in the original thread, this one is mostly for the ease of licensing. As usual, C&C are appreciated!

You asked a question in open public... what did you expect? If you are confused about no reaction from leadership in less than two days: man, you are not new to this game, you should know better! -
[COR Dec FB4] Watchtower on Lake Myzec
Darnok replied to Ayrlego's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Really good build, a well designed scene. I like the colour choices and overall design decisions. The training scene gives an excellent "secondary focus" to look at. My only complaint has nothing to do wit the build, but with the background concept itself: a watchtower is pretty useless to oversee cats. Have you ever lived with one? They can disappear on a flat surface in broad daylight! Maybe - just maybe - a tower might help during day hours, but at night you will see nothing of any cat from above there... -

One thing to keep in mind is the "coop license" that allows you to license a fourth build per month - as long as it is in some way "cooperative" with another player and/or game entity. I do not know the builds and stories in question, but since @Elostirion is a member of the MCTC and mayor of Nova Terreli, I think there should be at least some builds that can be treated under this "coop license". -

Darnok replied to Ayrlego's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Lovely little plantation build! The build captures the look of a real poinsettia bush pretty perfectly... ... and thank you for the detailed instructions! I can not replicate it in real bricks, but there are some nice ideas in it nonetheless. -

I think rules should be rules. To quote "The Matrix": some of them can be bent, others can be broken. But the one in this case is clear and waterproof. So no wiggle room for bending, and I see no justification for breaking either. -
Shipwrights Guild Hall (WIPs, feedback, and advice)
Darnok replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Royal residence? Veeerynice build! Instead of making the hull "flatter" be removing a deck, I would instead make it longer. No idea if that is possible by some "copy&paste" function for a part of the hull, or if it would mean to redo a significant section of the build. Right now the proportions feel wrong to me though. -
Day 23 & 24 - Merrynight, back on track "Last Merrynight I gave you my Brick?" "Have yourself a merry little Brickmas?" "Jingle Bricks?" "Twelve Days of Merrymas!" "Okay, just let us practice something, the fourth candle is burning, it is almost Merrynight!" Another night came, another day rose, and it was finally Merrynight. A day like none before, as Mesabi Landing was caught in a severe snowstorm, the likes of nobody had ever experienced before. knock... Knock... KNOCK! A bearded stranger had arrived out of the blizzard, dressed in a red hood and hat. With a booming voice he shouted: "Ye fools! If you do not want to mess up Merrynight, you bring out my book, the sack, and whatever presents you took! Time is runing out!" Despite his usual grumpy attitude, Mordo knes the situation was serious. He ordered all presents to be brought out. "Here ya go, old fella. Now care to explain yourself? We worked hard over the last weeks to get this stuff done!" "Ho, ho, ho! You have done well, young Mr. Mordo. I might even scratch some of your WTC buddies off the naughty-list... a few of them... maybe... but I digress. See, my kittke buddy here got washed off his boat in a storm some weeks ago, losing some precious items of mine. It seems like you found them, and even acted on some of the contents of my scripture. Still, I need it all back. Let me handle the rest from here on out. Rest assured that I will take good care of all your presents, and shall deliver them tonight." "Hold on... so there is no profit in this for us?!" "Ho, ho... hum. I think I can spare some of my reindeers. They taste kind of like horses. Deal?" "Deal!" And so the strange old man and his little helper disappeared in the snowstorm, taking the presents with them. Everything was well - unless you were one of those reindeers... We wish you a happy Merrynight!

Corrington: Sign-up and Discussion, Era II
Darnok replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
There was no letter addressed at the WTC. One was sent to the Corrington admiralty, and unless somebody "up there" plays out that it got forwarded to the WTC, there is no reason to assume that it is suddenly available to them. I guess we just have different approaches to what is or is not IC knowledge in this case. -
Corrington: Sign-up and Discussion, Era II
Darnok replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
There are two different threads of discussion going on. The first one is about the IC reaction of the WTC, which has not been provided yet. It will come in due time, as I have previously mentioned here. Some people are jumping to conclusions as to what this reaction should (or should not) be though, without waiting for an actual IC reply. That is what @gedren_y just did here, and it is not the point right now - because there is nothing to say about a WTC response that is not yet public. The second one is yet another case of @Bregir blowing something way out of proportion - again. I will not comment any further on this one. It is quite frankly not worth my time. I am afraid my response in Lego will be not nearly as awesome as the one by @Captain Genaro, but there will be some builds coming. Well, the incident had no losses or damage on your side, and a sunk boat (and possibly lost souls) on ours. So yes, the WTC (IC) and I (OOC) would indeed take offense if such words were used in a letter to them, especially given these constraints. Note that they have no IC knowledge of Hochstetters letter! That is the exact point of my initial suggestion above: do not use the same phrasing when addressing the WTC directly! I am still looking forward to how Oleon will approach the WTC though. Very much! -

Well, nobody raided any settlement (except for @Garmadon ), so I still do not know whose side you are on. Well, good to know that you are fine with the unfounded accusations of raping, pillaging and looting. I am taking notes...
