LEGO Ninjago 2017 Discussion

The JL Battle of Atlantis set. -
It would probably be branded Technic, but as opposed to a brick built UCS one, an RC Technic DCEU Batmobile would be great, especially since its form has a plated, Technic panel look. I hope to see Sariel do an RC DCEU Batmobile.

How utterly pointless. They might as well have put unprinted, non dual molded dark grey legs on him before this.- 3,020 replies

The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion

Brickset has their review of set no. 70914 Bane's Toxic Truck Attack. https://brickset.com/article/28023/review-70914-bane-toxic-truck-attack -
Wow! A most incredible build! The bodywork is very solid for a Technic creation, looks great!

Future LEGO Pirates Set Speculation
Digger of Bricks replied to David Thomsen's topic in LEGO Pirates
Based on trailers and images we have seen so far, many of the ninja vehicles have been scaled down as sets, so maybe the same goes for this ship. Nonetheless, it is a most impressive set! From what I can tell, the hull of the ship looks brick built, lacking any large premolded hull pieces. So maybe my speculation on this thread regarding Creator Expert pirate ships could be plausible, if Lego will be creating more ships with scratch built hulls. -

How do "big bang" themes fare over in Europe? Maybe I don't know what I'm talking about, but like most licences themes, they seem to appeal to American audiences. Why couldn't Lego sell a traditional Castle theme running parallel to Nexo Knights distributed to all European retailers, but sold here in the US as a brand store exclusive theme? It would test to see if Castle would sell well in the US currently, and also avoid cannibalising mainstream retailer Nexo Knights sales.

The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion
Digger of Bricks replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
Thanks, this was the review I was waiting for! Artifex's speed build reviews are for me the most helpful, since most reviewers look over the final product only. I think it helps seeing the construction process. I love the grebble-ing on this set, as also with the other movie Batvehicles. The only weak point I found was the undetailed Batmobile( the front vehicle) section's cockpit and the gaping hole in the rear of that vehicle after the Batbike and tank are separated from it. But other than that, it looks amazing! -
As where it stands now, Aquaman is 2018's only slated DCEU film, scheduled for a December 21st release. The DCEU Flash film originally scheduled for sometime 2018 is now on indefinite hold. Thinking about this Flash film reminded me of this article back from June last year about Jeffrey Dean Morgan expressing his interest in portraying Flashpoint Batman, primarily for CW's Flash. He already portrayed Thomas Wayne in BVS, so although there is nothing to suggest a role in the DCEU Flash film, a Jeffrey Dean Morgan Batman in a Flashpoint inspired Flash movie would be quite something. Besides, Ray Fisher was said to be returning as Cyborg in the movie, maybe that suggests something? On a different note regarding Lego, the lack of multiple DCEU movies for the middle of 2018 means we'll probably get plenty of comic based sets to compensate, which isn't a bad thing.

The guard looks cross-eyed looking downwards. Other than that, the torso and legs have an interesting gold crystal-esq pattern. Could be reused for something, perhaps.- 3,020 replies

Saw this on New Elementary too, great creation! Nice utilization of the Nexogon showing off its verticality, and it's great too see more creations using the new trans-yellow X Wing canopy. The mini spaceship is probably my favorite part, a nice neo classic take on the old mini ship sets using the Nexogon.

Well, not in a cheaper one, but TLBM's Ultimate Batmobile has three of those canopies. But at $130, perhaps Bricklinking them would be a better option. At least having them in another set will make the piece more prevalent. Also, the same canopy comes printed with a black structural frame in TLBM's Batwing set, particularly perfect for usage in Neo-Blacktron 1 creations. First thing I thought of too. Also, forward pointing prong type wings remind me of the early 2000's JL TV show Javelin. Same with the long pointed nose.

I don't get the fish villains either, but I suppose it is a springboard for constant sushi jokes throughout the movie. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
Digger of Bricks replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Maybe, if rumors about a second TLBM series are true, being released a whole year after the previous one could be considered for TLNM also. I didn't expect a second series for TLBM, it surprised me that talk about one were actually possibly credible rumors. Someone suggested that an upcoming WB film could maybe have a Lego Batman short attached to it, keeping consumer interest to film and products strong. Perhaps TLNM in October or even the Justice League movie in November could have such a short attached to it, like The Master short attached to Storks last year. -

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
Digger of Bricks replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Given the popularity of the first, the September 2018 slated licenced series must be Disney series 2, though I know there is nothing to suggest that yet. -
Hi,I know this is a ten year old topic, but wanted to share this opinion on a preexisting topic. Given Fabuland's ten year run and popularity at the time, could, and should, Fabuland be brought back as a Juniors subtheme? Juniors has many subthemes based on already existing themes, but this year has slotted a whole seven sets for Pixar's Cars 3 under the theme alone. Juniors's intended purpose is a graduation theme into System sets from Duplo, much like Fabuland. So should/could Lego do that, introducing the theme to a new generation? a.k.a, Fabuland goes to war.

What was the reason behind Lego Scooby Doo?
Digger of Bricks replied to Takanuinuva's topic in LEGO Licensed
Well, I now think it was because of Dimensions, though maybe not completely on that alone. Perhaps as Scooby Doo was being considered for Dimensions( if that indeed came first), Lego designers knew that Dimensions products could not be stretched out to the entire gang (something that was very necessary), so they asked Lego if they could design sets for only a single wave. Too bad it wasn't successful enough to warrant a second wave, but I think only one was planned in mind anyway. A WAG( Warner Animation Group) produced animated Scooby film was slated for theatrical release next year, but has been now pushed back to 2020. I was expecting possible Lego sets for then, but now, not until then. -
DC Superheroes 2017 - Set Discussion
Digger of Bricks replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Okay, thanks. I just checked Brickset, Dawn of Iron Doom came with it. I only have before looked at the box art for that set, and the piece looked like black to me, never having looked at other official images. Also I check Brickset's newly added parts frequently, and Iron Doom's part inventory does not list the part, so that's how I missed it.- 3,020 replies

Questions for Creator Expert designers
Digger of Bricks replied to Jim's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Have 16 stud wide smaller modulars ever been considered? Some have discussed the possibility on the main modular discussion thread, perhaps with one year devoted to two 16 wide modulars priced at a $70-$90 range, as opposed to a single 32 by 32 modular. -
Purist Superhero Figures
Digger of Bricks replied to sok117's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Also, has anyone tried using the below pictured hairpiece on DCEU Wonder Woman? It has been used in black on the S10 Female Warrior and the villain piloting 2016's SW Eclipse Fighter (set no. 75145). It was the hairpiece I originally envisioned DCEU Wonder Woman using before the unveiling of the Sky High Battle set. -
I have not seen a topic on this, so if there is, please do move or merge with an established topic. Which AFOL community builders' work do you like or inspire you for your own projects/creations? For me, there are many, but my two top favorites are JonHall18 and Vince Toulouse on Flickr. I think they both are the best builders in the Dieselpunk and Sky-fi genres (both favorites of mine), and Vincent's artistry with Lego parts make unique and fantastic art deco-esq vehicular craft. https://www.flickr.com/photos/vince_toulouse/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/25163007@N07

As a successor to 2017's jungle subtheme following City's exploration trend, a Serengeti Safari subtheme would be great, featuring many safari vehicle and appropriate new animal mold possibilities. These new animal molds (for instance, lions, elephants, gazelle, etc.) could be also be used then in a large special edition city zoo set and/or Fun at the Zoo people pack, the latter even acting as an expansion set to the city zoo set.
