Disney Princesses 2020 - Rumors & Discussion
Digger of Bricks replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Yep, the Dwarves' Cottage was rejected sadly... ...but you know, given the significance Disney's Snow White has as cinema's first-ever feature length animated feature, I'd hope that the project could still have a chance as a future D2C in the same manner that the UCS Helicarrier, the Ghostbusters HQ, JW's T-Rex Rampage, and the upcoming Creator Expert Fiat 500 (just to name a few) were all revisited after the rejection of their LEGO Ideas submission counterparts. -
LEGO IDEAS - The Medieval Blacksmith
Digger of Bricks replied to Robert8's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
They likely will, but the least I'm hoping for is that they'll retain the Earth Blue roof in the finalized set, as for me it's the most attractive aspect of the original design. -
LEGO Ideas Discussion
Digger of Bricks replied to The Real Indiana Jones's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I too am a bit saddened by the rejection of the Dwarves' Cottage, though I suppose it did technically conflict with the already existing Disney Princesses line. However, for me the approval of The Medieval Blacksmith does help make up for that loss, because it is just as beautiful as the Cottage (if not better), and that it's an original build is probably for the better, especially for Classic Castle fans. -
Future Action and Adventure Themes
Digger of Bricks replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Really? What makes you think that? The way I see it, such a theme would be to Pulp Adventure Fiction what Ninjago has been to both Martial Arts and Japanese pop culture. And really, you just know that if Lego were to attempt a reboot of Adventurers nowadays it'd be some degree more fantastical than the original theme was, so I honestly could see such a successor following quite closely along the lines of what I suggested. -
Personally, I think it'd be a great idea for Lego to give Creator's Three-In-One line some non-motorized train sets that aren't microscaled polybag builds; but as for other themes, I just can't see Lego completely doing away with motorized train sets. I mean, maybe City could sell some individual locomotive builds under the Great Vehicles subtheme, supplementary to the larger motorized sets that come around every four years?

2020 Trains sets - Rumours and discussion
Digger of Bricks replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Yeah, until something suggests otherwise, that's the most I'm expecting to see from this rumor, and I'm betting it's gonna tie into a City set rather than Creator. -
Rushy CMF Series 20 Guessing Game
Digger of Bricks replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Alright, might as well try a second time too, though it need not be counted... Sky Pirate (e.g. antagonistic counterpart to S3's Pilot) Legendary Lumberjack (e.g. Paul Bunyan) Tropical Tourist Mecha Pilot (e.g. Pacific Rim/Exo-Force) Heroic Prince Edwardian Gentlewoman (e.g. Gibson Girl) Private Detective/Investigator Retro Space Heroine (e.g. female counterpart to S17's Retro Spaceman) Babylonian King Alpine Goat Herder Submarine Pirate Captain (e.g. Jules Verne's Captain Nemo) Evil Mastermind (think Alpha Team's Ogel, a counterpart to the S16 Spy) Automobile Hood Ornament Mountie (a.k.a. Canadian Mounted Police) Evil Baron (e.g. Adventurers' Baron Von Barron) -
OK, sure; but personally I don't care whether or not there's a chase figure given how lame or pointless they've typically been, as they've not really been anything that'd otherwise would've been on anyone's wishlist. But given what we've been told about this Series so far, all that it's got me wondering is how it'll honor the theme's tenth anniversary without any kinda chase figure or overall theming. Maybe the Series will be made up of archetypes that've been long-awaited by a large majority of fans?

Future Action and Adventure Themes
Digger of Bricks replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
That would be awesome. To take it a step further, how 'bout a noir detective theme that not only follows-up Monster Fighters, but Adventurers too? Imagine a premise that has a private investigator team-up with a masked crimefighter (e.g. The Shadow or The Green Hornet), a professor of archaeology (e.g. Indiana Jones), and other "extraordinary" individuals based upon various Pulp Adventure Fiction archetypes to thwart a malevolent Lord/Baron/Count and his army of mafia goons from stealing a cursed relic from the local Museum of Natural History to unleash an ancient evil upon the city in a bid for world domination. -
Huh, so according to both you and Itaria, Series 20 is made-up of only sixteen figures with no particular theming and an equal distribution? Nothing at all to distinguish it from an otherwise typical Series for the theme's tenth anniversary???

Rushy CMF Series 20 Guessing Game
Digger of Bricks replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in Special LEGO Themes
So, I take it you're expecting at least a list to leak quite soon from now, and you know what it is? Alrighty then, here are my guesses... Aviatrix/Female Aviator (think Amelia Earhart) Frontiersman (think Daniel Boone) Starship Captain (think Star Trek's Captain Kirk or Picard) Bird Watcher Rag Doll (think Raggedy Ann and Andy) Beekeeper Locomotive Engineer Prom Suit Guy (1970's style I'm thinking) Dutch Milkmaid Pilgrim (Mayflower colonist, that is) Sock Monkey Intergalactic Cop (a.k.a. Space Police Officer) BMX Biker Sorceress (think Sleeping Beauty's Maleficent) Oriental Emperor/Empress P.S. I see @Robert8 copied & pasted his most recent Series R for this game... -
So, should we expect something like Series 10, an otherwise normal Series with a Mr. Gold-like commemorative chase figure?

Action and Adventure Themes Discussion
Digger of Bricks replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Honestly, I could see this year's Ocean Exploration subtheme from City plausibly nodding to the Atlantis theme with an submarine archaeology premise, just with Alexandria-like ruins as the focus rather than Eighteenth Century shipwrecks. And if not for 2020, I still could see the next incarnation being open to such.- 233 replies

[Poll] What's Your Favorite Modern Space Theme?
Digger of Bricks replied to Lego David's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
I suppose so? I'm certain though it wasn't ever situated near Earth, as the closest thing Lego's ever had to an earthbound "Future City" theme was Ultra Agents. -
Sure, but many times I've found them to be well worth the wait, as they've offered some valuable insight into the development of various themes beyond just what's in store for the following year.
-
There are also at least these two "index" topics... Sci-Fi Projects on LEGO Ideas - Discussion and Advice LEGO Ideas Support Thread: Bionicle But you know what, maybe it'd be better if "index" topics that are particular to specific genres and themes be kept in their respective subforums, as they're meant to draw attention to project submissions that'd be of interest to those who frequent those subforums out of interest in those genres/themes. On the other hand, there is one other topic that I don't see within your index that's more generally pertinent to LEGO Ideas... Ideas 2019 - Rumours, Speculation and Discussion

Given the landmark occasion Series 20 will be falling upon with the theme's tenth anniversary, I wonder if any of the line's designers will be attending LEGO Fan Media Days this year like they did back in 2018 to discuss Series 18. For that matter, will anyone from Eurobricks be attending this year's event?
