  1. Bravo Lego for the Auto Transporter and the Airport Firetruck!! Both must-have's for me. As for the others, not so much. That's OK though, it allows me to save for the Parisian Resturant.
  2. Hi LT!! Looking good!! Love that door. Genius!!! Well done!
  3. Hi there LegoTrainFanatic! The idea with the continuation of track is that it's the connection to the next town, as is the road butting up to the end of the tables in front of the Police Station and the service station. Unfortunately, the tram has exited the track here once before when the controls became unresponsive....!! I like your thinking LegoSjaak. I have some plastice sheet that I do drape over the layout when I working in the shed, but I find it a bit impractical most of the time. Thanks for your thoughts LEGO Guy Bri!
  4. Thanks Phoxtane! I'm lucky that I have a fantastic wife and kids who actively encourage the city's development!
  5. After looking at these pics, I think I'll settle for the Car Transporter and the Crash Truck. The transporter will be great for my layout and you just have to love a large Crash Truck!!
  6. I have to keep the blinds drawn all the time, as the only windows face west and our afternoons in the spring and summer tend to get a bit warm, so there's potential for the bricks to fade. Also, having the roller doors open for an extended period does allow a lot of dust to settle on the pieces. The temperature does seem to remain fairly constant though. The space is quite handy and at times it becomes quite tempting to extend by adding more trestle tables!! I did have quite a headache deciding where to site my next modulars (when I can get my hands on them). In the end, I had to sacrifice creator set 4954 that was built as the school, to make the necessary adjustments to the layout. The school, however, will live on in my jewellery shop.
  7. Thanks fellas! I'm pretty happy with my hospital and post office so far. Hopefully, between all my laybys and purchases, I'll have them both finished!
  8. That is awesome!! Love to see the city to scale that it lives in!! You'd need quite a large shed!! Well done!!
  9. Hi all. This is my latest installment of my City named Georgetown. The construction crews are breaking ground to build 10211 and 10243 when I eventually acquire them. The babies and wounded minifigs came from Citizen Brick. My Hospital, Jewellery Shop (next to the Pet Shop) and Post Office are all MOC's and are still in progress, as the budget is always tight and parts are bought when I can afford it. I've also got a DeLorean on layby at my local supplier, so hopefully that will be rolling past my Town Hall and Cinema soon!! Finally, my tram is powered by Power Functions. The fit out was originally designed by legoman666 and is used with permission. (Thanks!!) My wife and kids just love the setup and we all have a good time playing around in the shed! More pictures are at the link http://www.brickshel...ry.cgi?f=535319 Enjoy!
  10. Wow! What a nice set! I was reading all the buzz and thinking "yeah, sounds nice, blah blah", but having seen it, it has totally changed my opinion of this set!! I love the interior and the new building design. The moped looks pretty good too. I've got a few modulars, but have fell off the modular wagon, as my street scape had run out of room. Now I have to work out where to put it!! Well done to Jamie and his team!!
  11. Awww.... that's too bad. I really loved this thread! At least you'll have the photos...
  12. -Are you a member of a LUG? No I'm not. As far as I know, there's none near me. -Are you actively participating in your LUG? No, as per question 1. -Would you consider supporting more actively the online AFOL community (e.g. Eurobricks) as moderator, regulator (indexing, ...), making set reviews, etc.? I have reviewed sets over at ANZFOL, mainly City sets. If needed, I'd be happy to review sets here and elsewhere, as well as helping out moderating here and other places.
  13. I've just found and read the entire thread. This is some fantastic work greg3! I really like how its all incorporated into such a small space. The storytelling really makes it come alive as well. I've also enjoyed your unique use of existing set buildings and how you've turned them into something completely different. The burnt out car and building were a stroke of genius! Someone mentioned earlier that this is great inspiration for non-modular towns and I whole-hartedly agree. I'm blessed to have a bit of space for my town, which includes modulars, but this has definatelty proved that small is beautiful!! Well done and please keep evolving and sharing!
  14. I couldn't agree more! If anything, the CUUSOO model was the spark that TLG needed to produce this iconic set. This is going to be my first CUUSOO build! Can't wait!!
  15. LOL!! When Town Plan was originally released, I said to my wife that all that set needed was some BTTF minifigs and you just about had Hill Valley. So, in answer to your question; Me!! I will most definately buy this set, when I have a chance to. I don't think we'll see it in retail stores in Australia, but, you never know. Plus, there's always eBay and Bricklink!!
  16. That's certainly another way of looking at it.... Thanks for the thought!!
  17. Fantastic suggestions from all!! Thankyou!!! LOTR rings and the tiara; why didn't I think of that!! (Starting to scheme on Bricklink!!) Thanks again!
  18. Hi all! I'm turning the bank that comes with Batman and Two-Face chase into a Jewellery store, as I already have the City Bank set and don't need another one! Trouble is, I don't know of many valuables that Lego have produced in sets. I also have the City Museum across the road, so that rules out the gold dish, chunk of gold and the jewel in the case, (although I'm going to have a different coloured stone in my Jewellery store). I also have the little gold statues from the collectable series, but they remind me more of Oscar statues than something you'd find in a Jewellery store. So, what does that leave me with? Any thoughts out there? Also, would sort of stickers would be good for the two front windows? I have the stickers from the original set, but they are designed for a bank more than a valuables store.
  19. Beautiful.. simply beautiful!! Thanks so much for the review. Now the scheming begins on how to slip this into the collection un-noticed.....!!
  20. Hi there melbs. Thanks to both you and AussieJimbo for your inspiration and photos in this thread. I would love to motorise my 8404 as well and I think I like your setup better, as I'd like to try and keep the original length of my tram. As I was looking at your pictures, I was wondering which wire goes where? TIA!!
  21. Thanks for the headsup! What colour are they?
  22. Hi guys! Thanks for the feedback. Feel free to grab any and all ideas that you see here; I have done that myself in the past with subjects that I like. If you want more detailed shots, feel free to PM me. As for the helmets; my Officer-In-Charge wears a silver helmet and the gold ones look a little ornamental to me. There are the older black ones, but I have two firies in the old-school 80's uniforms with the black helmets in the truck out of the Modular fire Brigade, so they're out too. I'm hoping for a yellow helmet in the future, just wishful thinking for now!
  23. Looks fantastic! I've been pondering my self how to accomodate four vehicles in bays that match the road plates, but it looks like you've solved my problem! Keep up the great and impressive work!
  24. Hi there Ricecracker. The smaller thumbnails were links to where the pics are being hosted, so the idea was to click on them and see the larger picture. Thanks for the feedback though and I've edited the post to suit. Enjoy!
