A little while ago, I bought 60002. I really liked the set, but I challenged myself to come up with some better designs. I wanted to use the ladder and turntable on my ladder truck and I needed a stand-alone Pumper for my City. So, this is what I've come up with! First up, a shot of my ladder truck when I first MOC'd it. Next up is what I've done to it. Now the body doesn't rotate, just the turntable. My Station Officer is the red helmet, while the other is a Leading Firefighter. Until there is another coloured helmet released, my Leading's will have to wear white. I didn't realise how high it would be with the new ladder part, I had to raise the roof in my fire station by another two bricks. Rear right shot of the truck. This truck has a pump panel, so it can be used just as a pumper, to back up other vehicles or respond by itself to alarms. Rear left shot. This shows, among other things, the controls for the ladder and stabilisers. Front shot of the truck. The ladder fully extended. Now onto the Pumper. This is 60002 with the ladder and turntable removed. One of the things I liked about this set was that it looked a bit like a Scania Pumper, that's where I've drawn my inspiration from. Rear-left view. Notice the two hoses? Now I can boost from a hydrant to either my ladder or platform truck. I can also have the option to give the second length to one of my other trucks, so they can draw from their own hydrant. Side view. Front view. I like this angle. I worked out how to seat three! So the crew is one Station Officer, one Leading Firefighter and one Firefighter. A shot inside the cab, showing the seating arrangements. Another internal shot. A new truck gets a new Breathing Apparatus storage system. Lastly, an overall shot. There you have it. I hope you like the new improvements, comments are always welcome. Enjoy!

Thanks for the heads-up! Did a little digging and found some pics on Flikr. I like the bike shop, but I think that the releases of the other subjects a few years earlier were much better, as opposed to the versions in this set. Thumbs up to TLG for doing something different. (Sorry for the off-topic...)

What's with the bird in Tonto's hair? I can't remember him having one on his head.. The sets look fantastic, in particular the train. Now I'm trying to work out where to put a steam train in my layout....!!

Thanks for the review!! It was a tough choice for my favourite; I ended up choosing the platform truck from 7945, as is most closely resembled a Bronto Hydraulic Platform straight out of the box. I really like this truck as well and feel that it closely resembles a Scania Telesquirt / Teleboom that the Metropolitan fire brigade operate in Melbourne, Australia. (Not my photo, copyrighted to the photographer. Found doing a net search.)

Hi gazumpty! Loving the work with the Police Station! Just a word of caution, make sure your roof is high enough to garage your vehicles. I found with mine that I had to raise the roof by two bricks to garage the brawler, due to the spot light on top. I don't know why Lego continue to do this; as this vehicle was part of the overall Police set release for the year.

I totally agree! I also echo the thoughts about a school sub-theme, would also love something like a shopping centre. Anything that lets a City grow and expand would be fantastic, not just Emergency Services. I know, though, that these sets offer the most play and that's why TLG does it year after year.

This is absolutely fantastic!! Did you base it on a Rosenbauer Panther? That's what we have running around the airports in Australia and I reckon it looks pretty similar. Any chance on sharing the plans? Well done!!! Some shots of ASA Panthers. The red one was at Perth Airport, the shot was taken by a friend of mine. Now they're all yellow, I believe to make them more visible on the airfield. The yellow ones have copyright info on the bottom of the page.

If this new police fig comes into mainstream production, I'd definately buy a few.

Thanks heaps GRogall for.the pictures. I'm really disappointed about the hospital though, especially after waiting so long for a decent one. The doctor does look pretty good however. I think that I'm going to get the current Police Station when it comes on sale and convert it to a hospital.

Got my money back from Fishpond. They appologised for the mixup as well. At least I learnt my lesson : check the picture against the set number before ordering!

Hi all. I'm in the process of collecting a set of S6 minifigs. As I've done in the past, I collect one of each to make a set, then store them away in the cardboard display box. My local stores only have just the one box each of S6 to peruse through, and as such I can't take a spare box home. Just picked up the Friends City Cafe from Big W for $38.84. This time I got what I paid for!! I was quite impressed with their range and pricing. Target had the same item for $47. I'll put a review up soon at ANZFOL.
