  1. Last year my sister bought me some Lego as a birthday present and accidently doubled up on the Camper Van. Not wanting to put a pressie to waste, I thought about an alternate design and came up with a Mobile Comms Van. I chose the Coast Guard theme, as its the closest TLG has to the State Emergency Service (State Government Agency that specialises in more Rescue work, like flood relief and Rescue, searching for lost people, etc). My thinking is that if the job is big enough, then various agencies would combine their resources to effect the outcome. Also, I figured that the SES / Coast Guard would have a resource like this for co-ordinating big jobs like missing hikers or boaters, natural emergencies that might hit Georgetown, etc. Enjoy! (Thumbnails are links to bigger pics). In the back there is a radar screen, a PC, phone and visible in the next shot, is a TV to keep up with news broadcasts. Georgetown's Coast Guard fleet together. Comments welcome.
  2. This looks fantastic!! I love the wedding chapel on the second floor!! Also, the transparent back is a great idea - not only can you see the interior, but a lot of local government buildings I've seen love bringing in the natural light. Well done!!
  3. Hi there elkapitan! Well done with your MOC! It looks fantastic! I'm a little confused though; is it meant to be a shop (with a statue on the awning), or is it meant to be a safe house for the Persian baddie (don't know his name) with the Persian architecture and the armed guard down the bottom? Either way it looks grerat and would like to see some pics of your interior when you've finished it!
  4. Just curious, has anyone seen 7239 for sale? Its listed in the current Fire line-up, but its the only set MIA so far..
  5. Wow metalgearsolid! That's a little bit different - but not in a bad way! I love the statue in the stairwell and the fact that you've retained the feel of the original model while adding in your own touches. Well done!!
  6. This is a fantastic project wooootles! I really love the ground floor. That kitchen just does it for me! Well Done!!
  7. The beach scene is refreshing, so many Cities (including mine) are full of buildings and road and not much scenery. I think the lines are a little too harsh and need to be broken up, but fantastic concept and first design run. I love the sunbather and the "bow wave" around the surfboard. Great effort, can't wait to see the rest of the City and your beach improvements!
  8. IIRC in the pictures, the City Square looked a lot like Town Plan. If that's the case, its already been released.
  9. At the Target's that I've seen them in, they're right in the middle of the Lego shelves.
  10. Breaking news re: Minifigures Series 1; Target have been restocked, well, at least my local anyway. Target at Castle Hill (near Parramatta) had six boxes stting on the shelf today, so I took it upon myself to pillage the contents of one of them!! I asked the nearest Target girl, she said that they had been restocked in the last couple of days. So, if you're still after some figs, check your nearest Target Store.
  11. I concur completely with Iain. Many thanks for reviewing and sharing this set with us all.
  12. That's a great looking SUV Selander!! Well Done!
  13. Thanks for the pics grogall! I would dearly love to purchase both this and the Winter Toy Shop, but, sadly I doubt this won't make it's way to the land of Oz for at least twelve months.. The Winter Toy Shop still hasn't hit the shelves here yet.
  14. I'm with Rick on this one. Thanks for the heads-up on the City sets Klaus-Dieter!
  15. If anyone wants a zombie, I have one that I don't want. His packet is open, as I wanted to know what I had bought. (I got him before I knew of the barcode list). I would like to swap him for a wrestler. If you don't have a wrestler, I'll let him go for what I bought him for.
  16. Thanks for the info. Wonder what they will have in the next series?
  17. This is quite a detailed and brilliant model. I commend your design ability and I think that this would look fantastic in any layout. Well done!!
  18. Thanks for the link Hemish. This seems to be an interesting site and looks just like what I was after. Thanks!! What figs did you get? I mainly wanted the Wrestler, which I got, my little one wanted a Cheerleader, which she got and we scored some others, like the clown, nurse, cowboy which will fit nicely into the layout. Also got a few for prezzies for my nephews.
  19. Hi there! I have a zombie if you want it. I would love to swap for a wrestler. If you don't have one, I'm happy to let him go for a small fee..
  20. I build new school as it's alot easier to collect then old school stuff. You can see my layout following the links in my sig block. However, there's no school like old school!!
  21. Does anyone know of any site (other than this one) that lists what store has what Lego? I managed to get myself a few minifigs the other day, but I only found them by chance at my local Target (Blacktown) while I was out shopping. By this stage my local TRU (Parramatta) had already sold their stock. I got what I wanted, but none of these stores had them advertised in their catalogues and Target didn't release them in the first week of their sale either. With the second series due out soon (I've heard October from a Rep I met in-store), I don't want to miss out by either finding out too late or not finding out at all. Thanks!
  22. This looks fantastic!! I also love the "masks" on the shelf. Well done on a fantaastic project!
  23. There are none at my local TRU (Parramatta) although my local Target (Blacktown) has two boxes of Series 1 minifigs for $3 per fig on sale. Yay for me!! They also had all the train sets (minus the station), all the new Fire sets and World Racers, some new Star Wars sets as well.
  24. Thanks for the pics Rick. This looks like a great set.
