  1. Looks good, a nice sized space you have as well, wish I had this room. It is good to see that the George Town is in flux with many mini-figures and vehicles going about their daily routines.
  2. Oh no, I cannot believe I used to watch this programme! I had locked that fact away in the dark corners of my mind, now you forced me to think about it again. Aarrrggghhh! It is however I very nice rendition of the scene from that series, I especially like the collection of old ladies, they do look the part. i agree it should be a Cuusso project, I would buy it!
  3. Is that a cow next to the camper van? Could it be a new one, if so what do you think it comes with?
  4. Does look nice and just like a real Blacktron I ship. I second seeing it in bricks.
  5. Nice looking ship. It is unusual to see a start ship like that in red, brings back memories of Spyrius from a long time ago in my late teens. Those engines look very big as well, similar to a pod racer but on a ship. The whole thing looks well designed to me, I like it. Where is the best place to get LEGO in Indonesia? I've searched around most of the malls in Jakarta and it is so expensive over there compared to the UK. Last time I was there was during the SEA Games and we visited the display in the FX Mall which was nice to see. I wanted to buy a set for my nephew, we got him a smallish set which he really liked and now keeps asking for more real LEGO as the knock-offs they sell where he lives are not up to much.
  6. It would be interesting to see the whole thing in a proper train body, perhaps pulling a couple of trucks. Can I ask, does it go any faster, only the motors seemed to be whirling away very fast with not a lot of speed coming through the track? I suspect it is just geared that way though the way you built it?
  7. Some really nice trains here. I wonder how many motors some of them have? I have trouble getting a single PF motor train to pull more than six or so freight wagons without major wheel slippage on standard LEGO curves.
  8. That looks so nice, just like the real one from your picture. I can imagine it running down the middle of the road in many a LEGO City set up and looking right at home.
  9. I think they are selling rather well in the UK. I know when I bought mine I had to go back the next day as they had sold out. I got two of them and set it up with two PF motors in the leading loco, it then has plenty of power and as it is all in the same unit operated by the same IR unit there are no issues with them running at different speeds. It did take a lot of effort and rejigging the interior bits to fit it all in though. The polarity switch for the second motor was a real issue, but I have managed it and it works a treat now it is all there. I would like another carriage or two at some point, but at the moment those orange bases are still quite pricey on Bricklink and I do not want to buy a whole new set again. I may try and build one in a different color at some point.
  10. I have found a lot of reddish brown bits have that Y shape on them, especially the 1X2 bricks. I just assumed it to be part of the molding process. But then I have not noticed it on other colors?
  11. Gosh, I am sure I had that set, I seem to recall the skeleton flopping down onto the knight. I had forgotten all about it until I saw your review.
  12. I guess this is after all what LEGO is about, you can just rebuild them again and again. How hard would they actually have to hit each other to really break anything? So interesting and encapsulating to watch over again!
  13. Looks great, a nice flying boat there and it looks so dwarfish!
  14. Looks so much better with two and you get an extra eagle which is always useful.
  15. I do not normally get to post in this forum although I do look in from time to time. I have to say that I was unsure if this fitted into History of Sci-fi or Where? I have been building an army over the last few months using the Cavalry Builder sets for the most part, but also Bricklink. It is based on the concept of a Wild West army and although from a licensed range I have 'yellow'ised' the soldiers. I have posted photos on my flickr account along with descriptions of each unit. There are of course cavalry, but also cannons, limber and Caissons as well as Infantry platoons mounted in wagons. I have kept this for the most part as I read up on them, for example each limber & Caisson or limber and cannon being pulled by teams of four horses. Then I have added a little something to give it a Sci-fi taste and something which to be honest has taken the most time to build. That is four steam tanks. There are the twin Class A tanks with weapons fitted to broadside positions, then the Class B which with a nod to naval advancements has a better engine and main weapons mounted in a rotating turret. The final one is a primitive form of Infantry fighting vehicle with a frontal assault ramp and two forward facing cannons in side sponsons. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the pictures. At time of writing the army is 104 men strong which includes the two Indian scouts. I know my photography is not that good but I am trying to improve. I think I just do not have that good an eye for it though.
  16. This looks nice and just like the real one. It is always nice to see someone make a realistic train with such detail.
  17. I would also say to get a regular set first, they are so easy to get started on. Also if you like the Maersk train, rather than trying to recreate it in Maersk Blue (Which will be very expensive.) why not try to make the engine in a cheaper colour like ordinary blue, or black, DBG for example. I have been toting with the idea of producing the engine in a different colour myself, maybe DBG.
  18. Looks fine to me.
  19. This is a very nice layout indeed. When i was young I had Thomas stories on LPs as we only had a record player or real to real tapes back then. But I enjoyed listening to them all the same whilst playing with my blue track 4.5V system. I would often pretend an engine was Thomas or Percy or whichever engine featured. It is good to see so much detail in you layout. I looked but could not see it, do you have a partially bricked up tunnel with Henry stuck inside, that was one of my favourite stories?
  20. I also recall them, they used to be every where. I cannot say when they stopped them, but I am not sure I got them in my Insectoid sets that I bought, These were I believe the last sets I purchased before my dark age and I am certain they did not contain any catalogs. At least you still get a fell for the range nowadays in most of them, they usually give details of other sets that come in the particular series if not the whole range.
  21. That is really cool. I may borrow it for some of my cavalry steam tanks.
  22. That does look a lot better than before.
  23. There are a lot of people here wanting figures that may in real life be mounted on a horse, 'Canadian Mountie' for example. Also some of the older soldier figures. Perhaps they could do a series where the figures are mounted on a horse or similar? It would cost a bit more per packet, say £4.00 UK money. But just think of the possibilities even for the custom horses as well!! Also the thing with a modern soldier. I agree with the TLg policy in general, not to produce figures that could be identified with any particular country and I am fairly certain that even WWi or WWII figures would be different enough to say this one is British, American, German and so on. But nowadays especially where a lot of armies around the world have been equipped by the USA, UK, France or whichever power it is hard to tell just from looking at the basic kit which country soldiers come from. For example if you had an Iraqi soldier, an Afghanistan soldier, British soldier and an American soldier as long as they had no unit markings etc would we at LEGO yellow skin scale be able to really tell them apart? They would pretty much be from the vast majority of countries just a basic soldier that could come from any country you liked. Take the toy story ones. I have collected a few packets of them and swapped out the hands and heads to be yellow. they have a basic green uniform (Which I realise is based off of plastic toy soldiers.) which whilst it looks fairly modern American/Western in origin is generic enough to have come from any old place really. Maybe TLG could do similar as an input to a CMF range as it would be vague enough to not be from one place or another. In fact they could still keep the green hands, face bit and those of use who want an army could just swap those heads and so on as we liked.
  24. No idea really, I don't tend to pay attention to such things, but the printing theory gets my vote. I also think the child safety and being able to breath through it is a load of old rubbish, It is just not big enough.
  25. Nice to see such detail in it and all built together as a family.
