  1. Won't buy it since it does not fit with my layout, too bad for the potential MOC potential... but what a great and creative set! Definitely not common for this price tag, BRAVO TLG, pretty sure that if I were a SW fan, I'd get a couple of these!!! Some said the tree height was a bit low, did you notice that on the box all the other trees are much bigger... the ones included in the set look very small in comparison... Anyhow, excellent set!
  2. Hi ZetoVince, I always was more interested into city buildings than cars or other transportation, for me it was only there to make the city look more realistic, but I must admit, your Porshe and the Police/FBI cars are just art pieces! Thanks a lot for sharing, I'd be more than interested by the instructions as well, also for the other cars, I think this would be a delight to build and display!!!! Have you thought of putting your models on Lego Cusoo, I'd definitely vote for it, am sure a lot of other AFOLs and KFOLs woulld do so as well... And as this could be a "quick win" for TLG (there are usually very large models from what I've seen) that a model like this, so brilliant and yet not too expansive, would certainly interest the company, and maybe even launch a new line, dedicated to realistic cars... Very very well done and thanks a lot for inspiring!
  3. All of them appear in the S@H swiss shop, some not even tagged as "new" in the shop.... The boat in the 60015 set is for me the most interesting, besides 60026, with the statue...
  4. Hi Serengeti, very nice city blocks!!! It is very realistic and gives a big city feeling, very well done! Thanks for sharing and inspiring! Also curious about the tunnel...
  5. Hi lostdriveway, here is a pic of my favourite, yet one of the smallest one.. Thanks for the comment! IMG_4445 par SwissBrick, sur Flickr As always, Lightningtiger, spot on... Here is a little more to add to the confusion, with a Japanese flowering cherry... Again, even harder to choose now, I'd tend to go for fall, and remove the other ones, what do you think? IMG_4442 par SwissBrick, sur Flickr Thanks for all the nice comments, much appreciated. I also like the fence idea, noway I'd allow my kids to play next to a train track... and why not track ballast, any nice examples? For those interested by the big tree in front of the town hall, here is the source: http://thebrickblogger.com/2012/09/how-to-make-lego-trees/ Keep you posted, thanks again for your valuable feedbacks!
  6. Hi again, some more trees..
  7. Same here! In french I'd say "incroyable"! Thanks for sharing!
  8. Hi lostdriveaway, yes it is 8mm plywood on the top, when I get the next one I'll take pictures. But you may go for 12mm, especially if you take them to shows! Would love to see your city! Hi BrickyBoy, a tramway would definitely do it...but it means I'd have to tile all the streets and maybe also raise the green stuff by a third of a brick...it gives perspective on the long term and would allow to integrate a bike track! Thanks! Merci castor-troy, done! ... not with flowers but trees... will be continued! Anyhow, I am very grateful for all the advises and inspiration from all of your creations, I have a lot of room for improvement with my layout and yet this is excellent news as I have years of building ahead... photo (32) par SwissBrick, sur Flickr photo (36) par SwissBrick, sur Flickr photo (33) par SwissBrick, sur Flickr photo (35) par SwissBrick, sur Flickr photo (37) par SwissBrick, sur Flickr photo (38) par SwissBrick, sur Flickr photo (39) par SwissBrick, sur Flickr photo (40) par SwissBrick, sur Flickr I guess I'll wait a while for updates now, don't want to spam... Thanks for all the feedbacks!
  9. Thank you Fred67, Not sure about the backdrop yet, will see if I can make a mountain, tunnel behind, YES fo the T section and yes to more details in the haunted house "garden"... Thanks for your feedback, will try the T section as soon as possible.. I think this is the best advice I ever got, you're definitely right! Thanks Hrw-Amen! I needed this, especially these days when I want to have it grow faster and faster... Here is yet a little update (not to compare with Castor Troy's city please ) Next steps: Brick Link some of Kristel's models! Light up the lamp posts..., Thanks Electricsteams.. Make the table bigger and update the layout as per comments! photo (17) par SwissBrick, sur Flickr photo (18) par SwissBrick, sur Flickr photo (24) par SwissBrick, sur Flickr Thanks LT: photo (26) par SwissBrick, sur Flickr photo (27) par SwissBrick, sur Flickr photo (29) par SwissBrick, sur Flickr Thanks again! Thanks again to all of you for your help and advises!
  10. Hola Evman, thanks for the advice! You're definitely right, next to a town hall and a big square, there should be a café! So I changed te CC to the suggested place, but did't invert it with the pet shop, but I'll try though @melbs, unfortunately I can't put it on the floor for several reasons... but if I expand the tables, yes, a park! Thanks to both of you! 96 par SwissBrick, sur Flickr 94 par SwissBrick, sur Flickr
  11. Thanks for your feedback UrbanErwin, excellent idea! However it will take a long time and lots of bricks... But I wanted to make a hill for the haunted house, this might be the perfect solution!!! In the mean time I did some modifications as per prior comments: So there are more straight roadplates - Thanks LT! A little more greenery and scenery, thanks all! And there is a townhouse by Brick City Depot and another pet shop... Hope you like it 1 par SwissBrick, sur Flickr 4 par SwissBrick, sur Flickr 5 par SwissBrick, sur Flickr 9 par SwissBrick, sur Flickr Any further improvement ideas, especially in terms of placing the buildings another way? Thanks!
  12. Thank you LT! Yes, definitely more greenery and straight road plates... this will take a little time to set up... but for the gas station, I guess I have material to do one as I have 4207 left that does not fit in the layout, might want to make gas station that would fit in, excellent idea!!! Thanks again! Good point for the windows...but will wait until I find the definitive place for the town hall. As for the park, yes, that should be a next step! Thanks wondermonkey! Hi timmyc 1983, you're right, a statue, fountain and greenery should stand in front of the Town Hall! Will have fun building, but for the remaining space, I already did not put all of the sets I have in it...I think I should get another table... Hi Kristel, you are right, beauty is about details, same stands for realistic... and I must admit I am not good at it, but I'll try to add more details, greenery and landscaping (I tried with the haunted house, my first attempt.. ). Regarding the compacity/spreading, I have a couple modulars remaining (another FB to make Brick City Depot's Consulate and another Pet Shop that I can transform to classic residential building) that can be added. For the initial layout idea, I just did not take the table dimension into account... and if I want the train to loop around the city, I just can't go for it since the table width allows me to put 2 buildings and a road and the train on the sides. Initial planning was 4 buildings, a road plus the train in the width... Now I definitely need another table to go for it... But in the meantime maybe better ideas can come out depending on the discussions. Thanks Kristel for your always valuable feedback!
  13. Hi Everyone, I am struggling to get the best out of the tables surface in terms of layout... and I am not very happy with this one, any ideas that could make it a bit more attractive??? The prerequistes are, the Town Hall should stand alone, the train is a must, water not (at least not yet). Actually I had layouts on smaller surfaces that looked more realistic, more dynamic, i.e the modulars created the impression of a bigger city, maybe because there were more "angles", more streets crossing each other.. Anyhow, thank you for your feedback and advises! photo (14) par SwissBrick, sur Flickr photo (23) par SwissBrick, sur Flickr photo (18) par SwissBrick, sur Flickr photo (20) par SwissBrick, sur Flickr photo (21) par SwissBrick, sur Flickr photo (27) par SwissBrick, sur Flickr photo (28) par SwissBrick, sur Flickr photo (25) par SwissBrick, sur Flickr Any ideas welcome, will post some updates if modifications are made following your advises, thanks again!
  14. Three times 1.8X1.0 meter tables = 83 baseplates... Youhouhou, maybe I can fit the train track in it...

  15. Two times 1.8 X 1.0 meter tables = 55 baseplates, youhou!

  16. Wow, very original! I really like both gardens and the general look and feel, great interior too! Actually, maybe without the tower it would look more harmonious, but this is like saying that a delicious chocolate cake would even be better with melted chocolate on the side... Excellent job! Thanks for sharing an inspiring.. I think this is a great way to have a more suburb/residential area in line with the modular street(s)..
  17. Thanks for the answers , did not know (or search..) about the previous threads on the subject..Got an answer now, and think 1974 is right, let's try to MOC one... (Why did I give away my childhood's Legos (incl. red monorail).. )
  18. Great Layout! I particularly like the stand alone TH and the fountain! I am sure you'll find a clever way to place the Palace Cinema! Waiting for updates, thanks for sharing.
  19. Dears, after the sticker design on the modular Palace Cinema "Mistery on the Monorail", do you think there is a chance that TLC would release one "relatively" soon? If yes, what would/will it look like? Thanks in advance for your thoughts and comments.
  20. Hi lightningtiger, eventhough I am not a fan of open back buildings, your entry is absolutely great, lots of small details, nice building techniques, but mostly an overall design that brings a lot of atmosphere (by that I mean that I can almost hear the minifig's conversations..). Great job and cheers from switzerland. BTW: What is the truck delivering, I have an idea but am not sure..?
  21. I think your movie brings "life" and action to your city...!
  22. Definitely great! I think Coastguards have a better way to have fun than firemen... Pool table instead of ping-pong table, that's cool! The 8 wide buildings will bring some dynamism in the front street. The back facade of the coastguard building looks quite good and "realistic". Really looking forward to see it grow! Thanks for sharing!
  23. Definitely! Eventhough I didn't have a Police Station as a kid, it is their core business to do police stations and fire stations,... TLC cannot resist to make a Police Station as it will be the "ultimate" one, designed for adults... The dream of every kid grown-up kid Would not mind at all getting 2/year... I have to feed my Lego need by buying smaller sets not designed for AFOLs... As for the next ones, I could easily see a museum, bakery/butcher combined, post office, hospital, fitness centre, video rental (that's definitely old school and would be very nice in a Lego city... ) + appartments,... IMO, more appartments/residentials would fit to the "realism" that AFOLs expect (i think), not only in the building, in the way they fit together but also accuracy with what you really see in a city. Anyhow, can't wait for the rumors about the next one..!
  24. C'est juste la grande classe... rien à dire! Again, your city gains a new dimension with this historic area, and as for the rest of your town, great job!!! All your buildings are fabulous, they go great together, the town is varied with different atmospheres and yet homogenuous, a lot of details... You tried different styles, you tried different types of builds (i.e boat), and got it all! Thanks for sharing! PS: Ce que "j'adore le moins" c'est les façades arrières des deux bâtiments blanc et bleu, les pointus, mais bon je dis ça, je ferai certainement jamais mieux...
  25. Hi dgoodfellow, I was curious about the road and am definitely impressed! Eventhough it does bring complexity as you have to push up your buildings, the result definitely makes it worth! In Europe we don't have (at least not that I know of) streets with yellow stripes in the middle, but the 3 colors together (black, white and yellow) really makes an interesting contrast, absolutely gorgeous! Thanks for sharing, looking forward to see your next video! Kind regards from Switzerland
