Dear Both, thanks a lot for your advises! It will definitely help me make a better and more harmonious layout. For the Log Cabin v.s Surfer House, you got a point! and for the Haunted House, good advise for the current state. In the future, I'd love to put it on a hill, with a creepy road/path leading to it... I saw a great example on EB but can't find it anymore. Thanks again!

Thanks gazumpty! I will take your comment into consideration, you're right, most public/official facilities do have a small public space in front of them! With a statue in the center maybe.. Thanks again, will post pictures when realized.

Very nice city! I really like your road, is it at the same level than the sidewalk of the modular buildings? Or will you have to adapt them to match the heigth of the road? It also really makes me want to get another TH to make the Consulate from Brick City Depot Thanks for sharing, it also must be great to share with your child! Greetings from Switzerland and waiting to see the rest of the road

Just love it!!! Great job EROL and thanks for sharing! -
Funny thing, when I received mine, there also was only one sealing "white stripe" on the brown box, instead of two, thought it had been gone loose during the delivery process, apparently not... Are they dowing LEAN Manufacturing at LEGO?? Anyhow, thanks for the great review, very well done so far!!!

Hi Kristel! Thanks for your suggestion, I tried to sketch the layout you had in mind, I think it would work well! Just forgot the parking lot... Maybe I could put parking spaces in front of the Town Hall on the other side of the road right behind the modular row, which would be facing the other side (same direction as TH)... Also I would put the creator houses like two facing the top road and two the bottom road and have green stuff between them in alternance. Anyhow, here is a basic sketch.. I am currently moving and will have a big basement in which I will be able to put a big table.. I am very excited Thanks again!

Thanks LT! The amount of cross-walks is certainly related to the fact that I am a pedestrian myself and don't drive... Hi Bighappysmiles, thanks for your comment! I agree, the park definitely needs some level variation, maybe a fence, more scenery, you're right! For the pics, I will upload new ones when I have redone my layout... and integrated the Haunted House & Horizon Express in a better way... Any suggestions? Have a nice sunday!

Dear All, just added Cinema Palace to my town, I was pretty happy with the build I will change the layout soon, would you have any suggestion for a layout with all modulars (except MS) and 2X16 wide MOCs? And how would you liaise with suburban area (creator series..)? Thanks for your ideas! PC_5 par SwissBrick, sur Flickr

Couldn't wait to order, especially since shipping was offered... it kind of makes it even cheaper than double vip points.. (at least in switzerland..), I'll just have to count the days until delivery...

Dear All, Are we sure that there will be double VIP points in march? Humm shall I wait? Since I am new to the VIP program, how much does that represent, if I get double VIP on the Palace Cinema, how much cheaper would I get the next purchase, would it be around 10 dollars or less? Thanks a lot for your help!

Dear Kristel, again, let me express my admiration, I fell in love with this one at first sight again ... I love the pure and yet detailed and sophisticated aspect of your building (like your psychiatrist office that was inspired by a bank...). The color scheme is brilliant again and I have to say that I love the top floor windows as much as the second floor ones... your inside design is just perfect and the use of "room" is very appropriate. The thing that just summarizes my admiration towards your creations is "subtility", everything is just subtle and classy and pure and yet expresses a high level of sophistication. We already had a discussion about Cusooo, but did you think about selling instructions of your sets, or let a group like brick city depot do it for you? I am sure that it would be a success... If TLG released a set like this one or the psychiatrist office, I believe that a bunch of us would go for it...especially if they are 16 wide ones and a little cheaper than let's say uhh Town Hall... How many parts did you use, any idea? Again, thanks for sharing, I'll be watching out for the next one with more imaptience than for official modulars.. Cheers from Switzerland

I totally agree! My first reaction when I saw Gogall's picture of the Palace Cinema was like, ooohhhh this does not look good at all, I was very disappointed, mostly because (and someone said) it didn't look like sonicstarlight's creation... or wasn't even close to the idea I had of a cinema, especially since the rumor said it would be art deco... This reaction occured every time since CC and GG. At the time I discovered both at the same time and saw CC at a shop, my eyes couldn't believe what I was seeing, a huuuuge and perfect looking lego building, wow I thought I was dreaming... Then I got out of my dark ages and started looking around on the web and discovered wonderful MOCs (like Jesse Jasper Jones' ones) When FB came out I was disapointed when I saw the pictures, even more with GE and also with PS and TH, because they were not matching my expectations... as with CC and GG I had NO expectations... But when I got the sets at home I was just amazed, with every single one of them... The same occured with Palace Cinema, but when I photoshoped it next to the others, I went like, oh yes, this looks very good! Because at first I couldn't see it fit next to the others without looking weird. With all sets together, I was much more happy, because I had expectations of the building alone but not of them together, it helped me see it in another angle, and allowed me to appreciate it and forget what I had expected. As mentionned as well by someone, I now think it's best that Lego surprises us every time with something that does not conform with our expectations and yet goes well with the whole lineup. In comparison, I was in love at first sight with the Haunted House, but it's more difficult to make it fit with the lineup... ( and remember, this one looked too much like our expectations, and some of us had a long debate whether or not it was a copy of someone's MOC)... I aslo think that even if Lego had produced sets in the exact same "tone" than CC and GG, we would still have been disapointed (the expectations thing..) and less surprised. Can't wait to see more pics and details (Grogall this is directly meant for you ) And let's remenber how lucky we are to get sets like this, every year or more and that if we really don't like one, we can just not buy it and bricklink the one we dream of!

Thanks Grogall! March 1st, great!!! As "almost" usual for modulars release date. I think I'll be able to wait until then, thanks horizon express... EDIT: But for the URL, I am kind of disappointed, just add Name-Surname-Set# at the end isn't surprising as it is the case for all shop items... if you Photoshoped the image in the shop @ home context, I am a bit disappointed again, no trick elsewhere,.. and you did not mention the psd edition... What I now hope is that the march 1st date isn't a guess and that you really have this info...

And here it is, shorter, right, with its price, it can't be that "massive". It also looks better in "brick size" comparison. Modular_Steet_Palace_Cinema_modifié-4 par SwissBrick, sur Flickr

Thanks sgeureka! And of course, my Hero Grogall!!! Here is also an attempt to place Cinema Palace next to other Modulars... Spent a couple of minutes so the result is not that good. For the scale I looked at minifigs.. And here a little bigger.. Wasn't that enthusiastic at first glance, like everytime since GE... but now that I photoshoped it, I like it a lot more

Hi Xyver, great addition with the blue 32_16 building! And thanks for your answer and tipp with the Log Cabin pieces, I have one and have seen it still is in some shops here for a good price. I am not an advanced builder, so take it as it is, an unexperimented advice, I agree with Vincent's comment, and actually I would get rid of the blue pillars on the first floor and leave the entire window frame in beige. Again, very inspiring!!! Thanks a lot for the update!

Amazing! I can feel the drop of sweat threating to fall down CatWoman's assistant's head, up in the ceiling... Brilliant and thanks for sharing!

Dear Xyver, you've done an excellent job, I really like the "inside" corner you did!!! It's been a long time that I was looking for such a technique, very well done! Question: Did you only use parts of 2 pet shop sets or did use additional ones? Anyhow, thanks a lot for sharing, it's very inspiring! PS: To all of you experienced MOCers, with the other blue building, if you had two of them, would you make one big building or two? If two, what would you do with the snot signs? And if one..? Any examples I might have missed? Thanks to all and let's get our hands on some bricks!
