Definitely PR, but I would also consider buying a second Horizon Express for the sake of realism in your layout.. City Square is cool but once you are into modulars, it does not fit anymore.. the creator houses do fit somehow as a suburb though.. Enjoy!

Love at first sight, beautiful concept and execution, thanks for sharing!

It does what it is supposed to do: scare us at every new image.. Well done! And thanks for sharing :-)

Actually I tend to agree with Kepheus, there are a lot of nice details, great building techniques, a great set in a few words, but it looks more "Disney style" than the first 4-5 modulars, it is less adult and less realistic, the upper floors facade of the bakery are quite simple, the flower sign is absolutely cartoonish, you'd never find that in real life, only the café with an Italian style IMO is up to older modular standard.. One of my least favorite, Town Hall still seems much more realistic. This set is right in between BB, DO and CC, GG

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
SwissBrick replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Actually I was pretty surprised to see a 48 wide build being released, my 2 cent is that they will release a 16 wide one, maybe even this year.. This has been a long time request from the AFOL community.. And I think TLG has already had 10 years experience with the current modular trend with the same pattern so it would not surprise me if they would change their approach to it.. 2X16 wide a year, 32 + 16 a year or even only one 16 wide a year.. Let's see, and I hope for the 32 + 16 a year -
Had one missing piece as well.. the new 1 by 1 half rounded tile that I had not in stock.. Thankfully the piece was hidden and could replace it by 1 by 1 rounded piece..

I am getting scared, not only 10255 is not found on the Swiss shop at home but also the "exclusive sets menu - new items" does not display anything, I am afraid I won't be able to buy it on Jan 1st.. A few days before Christmas, to see that the Lego website is not up to date and has menu items that don't display anything is quite scary..

EB Xmas Raffle 2016 - Your ideal Snow entry thread
SwissBrick replied to CopMike's topic in LEGO Town
Love at first sight!!! Your picture does not show anymore.. So much realism, I cannot wait for this small thing to get out of the snow so that the fox can get it.. Winter Fox Hunt by Miro Dudas, sur Flickr -
Love the effect given by the green LEDs, also nice details, amazing job, congrats! And thanks for sharing!

Well, good that the waiting is over! Personally, the set does not give me the WOW factor as others have.. I think the best looking is the left building, the flower shop and bakery look kind of "friendish" "disneyish" to me.. I expected something else, something more unexpected.. I like the references to previous modulars, I will buy it, but am not that impressed by the set.. I will wait until LegoSjaak will make a grand version, or see other peoples' MOCs to see the true potential of it.. I thought this would be the centerpiece of my layout, something that would connect all modulars or something very impressive, to me it looks like we get a bit more of usual modular style buildings for a bit more money, but nothing more astonishing than buying 2 regular modulars at once, nothing "ultimate"..

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
SwissBrick replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Personally, I do think "Assembly Square" is related to the shape and function of the next modular, all modulars had "straight to the point" names, no code.. Plus, we have had Town Plan (10184), Town Square (60026) sets in the past that were also "special" editions or larger buildings combinations than usual.. I am almost certain that Assembly Square will be a combination of multiple buildings/elements that will potentially "assemble" (like previously mentioned sets) modulars around it.. Also remembering the initial rumors, potentially on several ground heights.. Let's hope this "ultimate" modular will surpass our expectations! I am sure it will -

What a great news, agree, hope ultimate does not stand for last one. Already the title sounds great, Assembly Square, whatever it will be I guess it will go beyond my expectations.. The fact that TLG will (as assumed) celebrate the 10th anniversary makes me feel pretty sure they will surprise us.. Personally, I tend to think, like said before, that it could be a U shape type of building(s) -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

Wow, actually on my side, I have never had the swiss post opening my orders from shop at home, but they always do on items bought on ebay (used items, not new) and I also had bad surprises.. Like 50 extra CHF on a custom build train passenger car to go along with emerald night.. I live also in the french part (Neuchâtel) but our FCW has a quite big selection.. Now I will give you a secret tip: Go to Toppreise.ch and enter the set number you want, i.e. Lego 10251 (Brick Bank) and you will find it even cheaper than on shop at home or the same price (available tout de suite)..: http://www.toppreise.ch/prod_439902.html There are only swiss based online shops, so no borders crossed and therefore no surprises by the Post!!! Bonne soirée and happy building! -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
SwissBrick replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Hello jus1973, I too live in Switzerland, there is no taxation issue, unlike like when you buy on eBay, and the shipping is free as of 100CHF, which is the case for modulars.. So don't hesitate to order on shop at home.. Also please note that Frank Carl Weber stores have more sets than Manor, they have some modulars and other exclusive sets like the Beetle, Simpsons and so on.. If you live in a big (euh medium, there is no "big" city here..) city there must be one FCW store.. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
SwissBrick replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
I have one for sale Actually I understood it was arcade game, not arcade, as in covered sidewalks with arches, by the time the rumor came out before BB, but maybe you're right... This is frequent in swiss cities due to frequent bad weather, I would love to see a modular with arcades but perhaps more Italian style.. -

After seeing the comments about the price difference, I checked as well. The price was "inverted" when I ordered it from Switzerland, 197 CHF instead of 179 CHF... I was so in the urge to buy it at midnight that I did not even pay attention.. also because I ordered other items such as the GBHQ.. But when I checked the order status, the price was then correct, so I believe my credit card will be charged with the correct amount. Just saw the great review by Kristel, if you haven't seen it, you can take a look here. Happy new year full of building fun!
