  1. Thanks for the link ANTP! Here is what I can translate: The set will be presented on Monday, it contains 2380 pieces and MSRP in France will be 150-160 Euros It is a corner building, mainly white and grey with sand green windows with a lot of ornaments/details on the facade. It is a Bank with a laundromat next to it. Inside there is a counter/desk, a safe, offices and a ventilation shaft (useful for robberies..) There is a lot of detail, looks massive and might look a bit austere/stern There are 2 levels: Ground floor, a nice entrance (8 wide) with windows and has superb ornaments on top (Angel wings, micro fig, wolverines claws..). There are some "shop" windows on the left and right of the entrance. The posts are with grey steel bars, to look like a stone facade. There are lamps on the walls and flowers in front of the "shop" windows and a tree not looking ridiculous on the walkway. On the other side (90 degrees from the 1st one), there are 2 "shop" windows (4 wide each, plus 3 pillars 2 wide, so 14 wide), the rest of the length is used for the laundromat. There is a bench and a street lamp on this part of the walkway. The higher floor has big columns (2x2 rounded and striped), big sand green windows, rounded on the top with the new rounded windows - 4 wide. The top of the floor moulding is very detailed and nice On the roof, there is a veranda in bow window style like on Green Grocer where you can see inside the bank. There is a standard office (lamp, writing machine..), and the director's office, much more detailed (Paintings, dark green walls, nice desk..) A bit like the billiard room in the DO. Note: The use of Nexo Knights shields to make the tiled floor more detailed (45 degrees points) That's all but we should start seeing pictures soon, latest on Monday, the guy could not share them..
  2. I confirm, the Temple of Airjitzu is a great build! Me too was awaiting the announcement of the next modular impatiently, and had to keep my hands busy.. The temple will nicely fit my city in a corner of a big park, keep you posted
  3. Love them too, very clever idea to use these bricks! The minifigs you used fit very well in the NYC 70's scene! Wonder what that prison like door is on the ground floor Thanks for sharing!
  4. At first sight I thought this was an inverted corner.. Very nicely done, I especially like the veranda and the shutters. It reminds me of the late 1920's villas of my town, very realistic!
  5. No buy for me, it will be the first time that I will skip a model aimed at AFOLs/TFOLs/Creator Expert line...
  6. Hi Tombacus, actually this is exactly what I am looking for.. I bought some of Brian Lyles instructions, only the ones that are alternate builds of existing modulars - meaning I can buy the pieces at once.. I also got some of Kristel's instructions, mostly because I loved her buildings and wanted to encourage her at the beginning, but never brinklinked them, no time for that.. So if you have complete sets, contact me, I'd be more than happy to buy them and also buy instructions from the original designer! As long as the purchaser of your bricks has to buy the original builder's instructions there is no harm, everyone wins.. Also I was discussing it with members in private a long time ago, I think there is a business model there... Get partnership with model designers, gather the pieces and sell kits in a larger scale than only a few like on Brick city depot.. Would anyone else be interested in buying custom designed modulars instructions and all pieces together? Thanks for your post and please contact me
  7. I'd love a video tape rental store, really vintage
  8. No, you're not, I don't bother either.. Actually I liked building this set a lot, it was a lot of fun, much more than PC or TH. I was annoyed by all the inside details and storyline prior to build but at the end, the set provides a lot of building pleasure - OK too bad it needs 2 IMO to look nice next to other modulars, even with one you will get worth your money.. The design itself looks more cartoonish than previous one, after building the feeling is not that strong anymore. Actually I would place this as the 4th best modular to build: CC, GG, FB, DO, PR, PS, GE, TH, PC Note that it surpasses the PR, I would never had imagined that when I first saw the pics.. One thing I noticed since PR, it is easier to build than previous ones... You don't look for pieces for ages, the bags are filled in a way that you never spend more than 20 sec to find a piece. Not sure it is good, as the pleasure lasts less... Anyhow, a must buy!
  9. but oh well, just for comparison: IMG_2463 by SwissBrick, on Flickr IMG_2462 by SwissBrick, on Flickr IMG_2461 by SwissBrick, on Flickr
  10. My cats have ruined my layout (true) so i 'm in the process or rebuilding, will post once done
  11. Hi! Here are a few pics of double DO: unnamed (3) by SwissBrick, on Flickr unnamed (1) by SwissBrick, on Flickr unnamed by SwissBrick, on Flickr IMG_2456 by SwissBrick, on Flickr IMG_2460 by SwissBrick, on Flickr IMG_2460 by SwissBrick, on Flickr
  12. Received an email saying my first order was shipped! The one with the VIP points and the express delivery... I was afraid they were not going to take my VIP points.. Especially after I had received 1500 points for free after a misunderstanding with the shop from my last order. They have a great customer support/service!!! + I should get 2 flower carts with this order : Before it was available on Swiss S@H, I checked the DO on the american site and clicked on add to basket and proceed to checkout to see what would happen.. It went to the swiss site and warned me that the DO was not available and asked me if I wanted to remove the item from the basket, which I did. But the flower cart was also there and I didn't remove it from the basket.. When I ordered the DO from the swiss site, the flower cart came along again, and then I had 2 in the basket, one for free and the other for 0.01 swiss franc... In the email saying the order had been shipped, both still appeared! Also the site is not working from here either since approx. 2 hours..
  13. Did the same, ordered 2 in 2 separate orders, the first using my VIP points and express shipping, and the second, using standard delivery. Only received the confirmation for the second order via email even if both appear in my order status.. grrr of course the system picked up the standard delivery order without VIP points..
  14. Will definitely buy multiple copies, i really enjoy the set, probably because I am a modular addict, liked it at first sight, not like PC for instance.. but you're right.. Looks like spiderman could "fly" around... It is not an exclusively adult destinated model like CC or GG were. Looks like the modular line is going "story telling" instead of pure building fantasy. Nevertheless I like it and will certainly enjoy it!
  15. Dear GarryTheMinifig and Zblj, yeah you are right, you get 2000+ sets for 200 USD... Anyhow I was surprised when I saw it in the shop@home.. Maybe it can be interesting for businesses to teach some methods to employees, team building activities... but not for me as an AFOL.. But sill curious about these activities, how TLG helps businesses to improve Thanks for your responses!
  16. Dear Fellow AFOLs, did you hear about this before? Serious Play... OK but expensive... Serious play by SwissBrick, on Flickr Any thoughts?
  17. My first MoC was done using only the pieces of FB (not really outstanding though..)and I also have built the one from Brick City Depot, much much better! Here you can see both in the same row:
  18. I love the extra height!!! Might give it a try too, thanks for sharing SvandeW! Did it with PR as well: IMG_0470 par SwissBrick IMG_0468 par SwissBrick
  19. Thank you for your response LEGO Gui Bri! mhmm, no airport, but yes let's try to connect to 7937 and have a big station at the border of downtown and suburbs...(upper level was what I had in mind too), not sure yet if it will be a circle line or straight back and forth one.. Will post pics when building
  20. Finally found a 6399 airport shuttle!!!! It was sold used on swiss kind of ebay, with every single piece and it's working... 320 USD approx. was it a good deal? Now should I use it and display it like it in my city or should I "merge" it with the 8404 Tramway, what do you think? How to integrate it in the city, along with the trains...mhmm probably not, removing the trains from downtown and only use the monorail... combine it with the 7937 train station (2X) and have a big "station" in the city center... what would you do? Thanks a lot in advance for your advice and thoughts
  21. Fantastic Job Esben, definitely realistic but more important, just beautiful, all goes so well together and there is really harmony. It looks like a homogenuous block even if all buildings are different. I believe you have a great sense of details and all contributes to a magnificient and realistic scene.. Love the street lamps, the vehicles and the "movie" kind of rendering of the pictures! Well done and thanks a lot for inspiring!
  22. Just changed location of PR, let's have a café next to the town hall... IMG_0663 IMG_0648 IMG_0656 IMG_0662 IMG_0654
  23. Correct @LegoSjaak You're right about the color, might change but put it next to GG because of the height... Will also mod the upper middle window... Great double-width mod!
  24. Just to share the "thin" version next to others: photo (44) photo (46) photo (47)
  25. Thanks Wodanis, was a real pleasure to build! Here you go: IMG_0472 IMG_0471 Kristel, I am sooooooo jealous of your creativity and high end custom modulars, we can exchange if you want, you give me your skills and I sent you 2 PRs in express As stated by Zed_43 and yourself, I might think of moding it to a normal window... Definitely saves room on the table and bricks.. Me too! You're right Zed_43, will try to mod it. Thanks!
