  1. Hoexbroe, eventhough I had seen your work in progress, I am astonished by your display All the different elements work perfectly together, there is a real harmony even though the styles are quite different, i.e Ladies District v.s train station v.s gas station... By the way, the roof of the gas station is splendid! What I especially like is the transition between the residential district and city downtown. There are so many details, just to highlight one, the doloreane that are masterpieces by themselves and yet your eye do not focus on a particular element, they just go from left to right and back and front discovering new elements every time... I love the police car, the VW Camper, Coke truck, yellow cab, shool bus...the movie theatre (mhmmm hope we'll get a nice compromise between yours, galaxy dinner and cinema and Lego restrictions for the new Palace Cinema ), and above all the dark red house with the barrel on top It really has the USA 50/60's look I imagined! Thanks a lot for sharing and BRAVO!!!!
  2. Thanks Grogall!!! I loooooove the helicopter arrest, and for once I also like the smaller sets ! Is it me or does the quality of the details and accessories seem better than previous year's ones? As I said yesterday, no source is more efficient than you have been: "Has this been confirmed? Did I miss something? A LOT of people know a LOT of things... My only trust: Grogall! There has never been a news from him that hasn't been confirmed, at least not that I'd know of..: "The next Modular Building is 10232 Palace Cinema! No word on availability, price or piece count yet, nor are there any pics available yet will update when I get more news! Title can be changed!" So ok, there is no picture and no confirmation by TLC but if Grogall confirms it, I do believe he's right. And this on top of all the others mentioning the Palace Cinema as the new Modular Building, I recall it all started with 1000steine.de. So to answer your question: No, but yes "

  4. Dear Kristel, I am absolutely fond of your building. Even if it is not, it looks very "simple" but yet very sophisticated..that's what I love about it... I believe it is because of the grey facade that is unicolor. The green window frame and door just adds the subtle and perfect contrast that makes it so effective in terms of design. The color scheme and the facade details really made me think of a bank...! (I live in switzerland, I know what I talk about...) At first I did not read the text and saw you were from Australia, as I have never been there, my first thought was like, mhhhmmm, this looks quite european, and actually has the sober, classy, imposing, secure look of a bank... But it definitely works great for a psychiatrist office. Some of the interior is brilliant as well, just to mention a few, the arch and coffee machine behind the reception. I am in love with your building, if TLC had to release 16 wide modulars (or expert creator..), I would definitely buy one! Did you put in on Cusooo? As for the back, I would personally replace the tree with... what would you expect... or not... to see in a psychiatrist garden??? Excellent, Brilliant, Classy, Sophisticated, Imposing, Sober, Subtle... All is in to fit my tastes, thanks for sharing Kristel!!
  5. Excellent, very realistic and yet making the x- mas feeling getting closer and magical! Well done, and approved by a swiss mountain specialist :-)
  6. It seems like your town grows very fast castor-troy, almost a modular per week... You have very nicely combined green and yellow, which I think is hard to do, and you added the perfect tan blue- white floor, excellent! I'd love to see your city growing with each new masterpiece you build, any chance to have updated pics? Thanks for sharing and inspiring, A+
  7. Euh, I don't know how to be constructive and bring a useful comment.... I am moving place at the moment and plan to have my new basement to be dedicated to our common passion, but gee, it will never, ever, look like what you have been / are building, in a near or mid-term future!!! As Tiger uses to say: just "brick on" and make some of us dream! Alright, one suggestion, I'd like to see more "brick" bricks on the wall, that's my only possible contribution. Thanks a lot for sharing, I'll follow up the future updates with great pleasure!

  11. Yeah I was surprised by the simple “six out of ten” rather than 61.2%. Especially since the majority of people that responded were in the “computer/engineer/technical” category I sometime run surveys, analyze and share results with my "user" (1'500+) community, and I can tell you that the "6 out of ten of you" approach is much more talking to people than the 61.2% one I was surprised by the tone, but liked it very much, from a user perspective..! Well done TLG, thanks for sharing the results and taking the time to elaborate such an answer
  12. I too agree with both of you... And I am very happy to see that the designer took the time to make this answer, thank you! That's what I call "Customer Orientation"!!!
  13. One last comment regarding the "sub"-topic... I pointed out that it looked similar to Badsneaker's haunted mansions and I have been astonished when I saw John's creation the NILTC Haunted House... Personally, I definitely believe that the TLG designer has been inspired by both creations and, for the details that he was "greatly" inspired, by John's one the NILTC Haunted House... I would be proud if TLG released a product based on my creation (it will never happen though...) and I am glad that TLG created such a product as it is definitely easier for me to buy it, than getting the bricks and trying to copy a great MOC... Anyhow, TLG will know about this issue by now... and I am sure that if "work" has been copied or saved days of creation/thinking/building process they will acknowledge it and get in touch with the creator of the NILTC Haunted House. At least to say thank you!!! or at most to offer him/her a designer job...
  14. Like everyone..or almost..: Brilliant and a must have... Again, it reminds me of Badsneaker's work (everything is there, the chimney, porch, fence, windows and wood stripes...... you should have copyrighted it Badsneaker...): http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=37078&st=0&p=650893&fromsearch=1entry650893 http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=64696&st=0&p=1169153&fromsearch=1entry1169153 None of the pics yet released show the left side of the house with the chimney doing the angle... I am sure it will fit in my layout...
  15. GREAT! Finally a tree kit! Since years I am looking for elaborated trees, and having a small set like that, offering multiple declinations, is just perfect! Could not dream of better to fit with city landscapes, to add more reality and greenery. Plus, TLG could really make a good deal with such a line, doing different types of trees, different seasons, having the same tree as stand alone or in a bigger set (3 different trees)... Cuusooed it at the second I saw it... Thanks!
  16. Hi Johan the Yellowhead, As LT just commented, when you said you would buy streets, I thought, mhmhmmm, I have bought streets and it does not look that good (see here)... At contrario, LT's street just looks fabulous with his own designed street with tiles (see here), I think it would really render good with your layout!. The park idea in the middle when the modulars circle up (at some time I hope) is also great, you might want to start before the modular line gets so far though... Thanks for the pictures. Cheers, SB
  17. I would definitely send all my town to get some of your 5$ pumpkin juice... Actually, I really like your fountain , it is very inspiring, even if it could be more in value (as mentioned, if there was more place around it), I would definitely also send a few minifigs to steal it... while others are distracting by getting your beverage Euh did I mention that your elevator is brilliant I believe that TLG could take a new market by providing extra accessories for modular buildings: like having a basic set like Cafe Corner and then sell - interiors modules - additional floors (the easiest to produce) - additional accessories like a fountain for the Town Hall or even a entire park to surround it - a luxury package like automated elevator for the Town Hall or automated escalators for the Grand Emporium Thanks RoxYourBlox!
  18. Thanks Legocrazy81, I saw the CC interior thread and all Modulars look good next to another, but I don't think it has a "town" spirit when all in a line. You're right a fountain from 10184 Town Plan would look good, might try to copy it (don't have the set) and have a park around. Cheers, SB
  19. At the opposite, mine is 1mm wider on the left side junction between the two first floors (the second floor I mean)... and face the same problem with the second floor on the first one, it is not "flush"... I had never noticed such issues with the previous modulars...and believe the two issues are linked. Maybe the new connection type is the root cause... As we are a few highlighting these little glitches, I wonder if the TLG QA dpt. noticed it prior to production.. I personally don't mind since I can fix it as mentioned earlier (at least the flush thing) but for a set that is that price, I think it's a bit odd... Anyhow, I really like the building but don't know yet how to insert it in my town layout.. I don't want to make a single street, and don't know if it would suit as a standalone building without anything around (place with fountain, little park...) Has anyone a good layout idea, or any images of their layouts including the TH??? Thanks and regards, SB
  20. Youhouhou!!! After a struggle with TLG (ordered the set on March 1st) and after 2 phone calls with the customer services (paid on march 1st and on tuesday march 06th it was still "please contact customer services" on the order status...), I got it tonight.. Ground Floor: 1.2710 KG Total package weight: 3.750 KG with box, plastic bags and so on... As said before, no pictures are rendering modulars as well as they look like in real life... And this one is massive (even without "XLargisation") The colors are great, light grey, dark grey, slight white in the middle and dark orange, just beautiful!!! Thank you Astrid- One small question, do you think Lego Designers start with computer based software to build a model or they do use real bricks and then optimize with computer technology? Thanks Unbornchikken for your excellen review!
  21. Thanks a lot for the video RoxYourBlox, en français en plus!!! How come the set always look even much better when filmed in "real" life? Does anyone living near an official LEGO store plans to visit switzerland tomorrow afternoon??? If so, I could propose a very nice meal/visit of the french speaking part of my country, just bring a TH with you (I will pay for it of course...) Of course I was just kidding, and will have to wait for tomorrow and order the set and then count hours before it gets delivered... PS: There is a very nice lake around here and the weather is great for the moment, how about a little trip to switzerland.. mountains are still full of snow, chocolate is just waiting for you...
  22. Definitely Mind Blowing I believe the next step in giantism would be to build this in real life size... Seriously, I wish I'd be mini-scaled to be able to visit this huge and yet only started construction. BRILLIANT & BRAVO
  23. Very Nice Build! You did a great job with the custom stickers as well, it looks really "real". PS: I hope the price is for gallons and not liters...
  24. Extremely well done BrickCityDepot!!! If I were rich, I'd buy all your instructions... This one is so realistic that I cannot look at it without seeing a canal in front...it definitely reminds me my visits in the Netherlands... thanks to details like the little wooden "thing" on top of the buildings used to lift furnitures up to the upper floors..! Thanks for sharing!
