  1. Just wanted to say I'm following your work with great interest and hope all problems are solved resulting in a digital file from dunes so I can replicate before it is October as I intend to show this at Lego World in Utrecht the whole week (so has to be reliable). With almost 100.000 visitors in one week it is the biggest LEGO event in the world. Really appreciate it. I will try to fit it in the setup I have with combined lift and rotator.
  2. @McWaffel Thanks. The LEDs are running on 3V and don't get hot. I have them all in parallel with one resistor after the 9V plug that lights all LEDs
  3. It looks like a lot of work to build and seems to work nice. If you take it apart sell the android wheels and buy a new car :)
  4. Well noticed, I didn't see it :) It runs great though, no problems in three days running at an event. I have put the 'display' meanwhile 45 degrees up so it's more natural to look at at that angle when standing in front of it. It totally missed Brothers Bricks had a nice article on it, my apologies to them.
  5. @RohanBeckett, thanks, fixed the link and also made a screenshot to capture the moment :)
  6. Very proud, LEGO Technic made a video of my Ball Counter and featured it on FB Good promotion for GBC I hope.
  7. Very proud, LEGO Technic made a video of my Ball Counter and shared it on FaceBook I've also captured the moment :) And I totally missed Brothers Brick also shared it in a nice article, my apologies to them.
  8. I also have bad experience with silicone spray, they break the 24t gears in my GBCs. That's because the silicone carrier dissolves the impact resistance improvers in ABS making the ABS more brittle. I now use PTFE spray from WD40 (so NOT the WD40 spray itself), is works without problems. With pneumatic cilinders I have no experience yet but will have when I have build my first GBC with pneumatics :)
  9. @colin different formats are possible, most likely the list is already in Bricklink XML format: https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=207 On Bricklink click Wanted List > Upload > Upload Bricklink XML Format > Paste XML text from your source file into the text box After that choose new list wanted and give wanted list name and validate the list.
  10. @colin The parts list you can load into a Bricklink.com Wanted List where you can also order the parts from thousands of private and commercial sellers.
  11. Looks like the European Swing only the Swing needs own work, can't lay back lazy :) But good opportunity to show off your strength to the girlfriend next to you :) BTW, judging on your prototype it will be BIG. Good luck.
  12. I wire these through the 3mm tubes to the back of the modular. Mostly there is enough room to the ceiling on ground floors for this but I decide per Modular what is best. For other floors I try to be as 'natural' as possible and e.g. add light on cabinets or on walls like with the Diner. I wire everything in parallel. With the 9V train power supply I used 100 Ohm on the plus of a cut 9V plug to the rest of the house. This results in almost 3V. If you want the LEDs to be brighter choose less Ohms but lifespan of LEDs will decrease. Thanks for the positive comments, very helpful!
  13. Diner is finished and has 15 lights, here's a video: And some pictures.
  14. Ground floor of my Diner (without turquoise and pink) is finished. I added 9 LEDs including LEDs in the juke box and chimney above the stove. Also LEDs above counter and table. I really like how it looks. The camera does not do justice, it looks better with the human eye. With lessons learned from the Market Street I now designed a cleaner backside with power lifeline (fingerprints meanwhile wiped off):
  15. That was also my intention if I would ever build it again, it would overcome the issue of dropped balls messing up the timing. Curious to see what you make of it.
  16. I like the design of the Diner, some nice techniques in there. But really don't like the turquoise and pink. So I replaced these colors with gray/black and changed the Diner characters. Now it has deserved a spot in my street with all modulars. The observant parts connaisseur may have noticed there are two modified bricks in here as they do not exist yet. I will replace them as soon as they drop out of a TLG molding machine.
  17. I don't have V1 but V2 I have ran for 10 days at events without real problems and minimum attention. I use modified switches that have less resistance.
  18. Nice interview with good questions. Only question that was a bit daft was 'Do you test at home a lot before you go to a show'? Duh. Can't believe the translation of the answer was he is organizer of the show and they test at the show and he decides what modules are displayed. Not a real answer to the question and any GBC builder tests a lot at home and even at a show. May be that was the real answer, shows are are a test too. May be @Ankoku can confirm. He has a lot of pens in his shirt pocket :) For sure I will have a look at building the Basket Shooter now. And when you make the effort to travel to Japan I would suggest to address him with Akiyuki-san.
  19. Thanks for your encouraging comments, I need it because this is a lot of work, especially to finish all modulars. If others read this, feel free to encourage if you like it because I need it for motivation. If the Diner will light up as I envisioned it in my head it will be awesome, I hope to post some pictures with lights soon.
  20. Here the back of the ground floor of the Diner with wiring for 9 LEDs. No wires visible on the inside and trying to arrange wires at the back as neatly as possible. As you can see no ugly turquoise in this Diner. Next step is to solder all wires to the vertical 'lifeline'.
  21. @dunes and @Doug72, thanks for you efforts and very much looking forward to the finished LXF file!
  22. @dylanfarrow, it happens to be I'm working on the Diner after a pauze. Ground floor has 9 LEDs with lighted jukebox and chimney above stove. Since I really don't like the turquoise and pink colors, I've replaced these colors to also fit better with the other Modulars. Still waiting for parts but hope to have some pictures by the end of the week. I also have almost all 27.000 bricks for the 8 Brickative modulars and plan to build in LEDs right from the start.
  23. I've made my design of the vertical exit of the Invisible Lift transparant, goes well with the transparant antennas I think. In the previous design with axles on rare occasion a ball would get stuck, the design with transparant panels is much smoother on the inside.
  24. Take the switches apart and veil away the notches or use very old switches which do not have notches.
