  1. Edit, I was wrong, the new color called dark yellow, not medium orange: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C7bGdg7czcI Howver, since it is an existing color, on bricklink it looks more of a brown-yellow: https://www.bricklink.com/catalogColors.asp And this color was only released for DUPLO lol Maybe the designer is just saying "oh its a dark yellow" not "it is the color 'dark yellow' so therefore it's actual color name is not known yet. Edit 2, I'm going back to my original theory of 'bright orange' :PInsert other media
  2. I would also say lengthwise like in the mack because its much easier to connect to the drive shaft, gearbox, etc
  3. Since it is a sequential gearbox, I wonder if it will have flappy paddles as many land rovers do. That would be awesome because this set is actually quite small compared to the 42083 for example so its harder to have such a complex drivetrain.
  4. Yes, it is very impressive that LEGO have made a 5th set (this one), where normally there is only 4 sets for 2h. Not only that but the CONTROL+, all of the new parts and recolors, the size and complexity of the models themselves AND they are also bringing out spike prime. I would say that this year has been almost as incremental as when technic became studless itself, kind of like a third generation of technic because of the new possibilities that the new parts allow for. So I'm fine with waiting until october now for the Land Rover and 42100. I think the color choice is not so ugly, it is olive green but has a hint of tan in the shade, so it makes it look more sporty along with the shape as opposed to a "super heavy duty off roader". This color will be useful anyhow. for example in Tanks and the likes.
  5. I've heard rumors it has adjustable suspention? Is this still correct or not?. How about the 4 wheel steering? It would be nice to see a community driven "ultimate 42110" page. Maybe give it a full gearbox, porche 911 gt3 RS wheels (since its a sports jeep, not a "super offroader") As most RC integration as possible (for example drive, steering, gear shanges)
  6. The new wheel arch will be brilliant when used as a front/rear top or bottom bumper. or as a car roof panel
  7. Lego have blew me away several times this year. normally they do this every year but this year has and will top the rest. So I will be buying every 2h technic set as well as spike prime. It's gonna be at least £1200 total which is a LOT but heh. I think it's worth it
  8. YEY the new 28 tooth gear comes in this set. I wonder if the largest medium blue spike prime technic frames come with the 42100 too. and if the bugatti disk bakes are compatible with the new hubs. I think the new color is Medium Orange edit: OH WOW NEW CV JOINTS TOO
  9. You could try to use the larger porsche wheels but move the suspention on the wishbone end up 1 hole. This will increase the ride height but allow for more room under the wheel arch.
  10. I might be able to do that, my idea however was to also use corner slopes however, but I dont want a 45 degree angle (basically, it's gonna be hard). Tn the mean time, I could just use a 1x4 tile with 2 studs with either two 1x6 thin beams, or two 1x2 thick beam on top,its slightly illegal but heh.
  11. Hi, I am busy trying to get smooth slopes, since annoyingly, almost all Lego slope pieces have the stupid lip on them :hmpf: This is just not perfect enough for my eyes, so I came up with the idea of stacking certain compatible slopes up using advanced techniques. In this case, Technic 1X1 beams do the trick perfectly although I still need to test it in real life. My question is, is there a way to connect the yellow 1x1 beams at their tops?. Currently some of the slopes just rest on top of them. If not, Is there a better solution than using 1x1 beams?. I would like to have the sides filled in too so that the sides look perfectly solid (hence why I have a 1L gap either side for me to fill in later). But if this is not possible just ignore the sides. As long as nothing protrudes out of the sides. Here is the LDR file
  12. Great work, I also like compact building like in your model. Heres a tip for making small suspention/drive/steering units: you can suport a CV joint using the following part: 41680 it allows the CV joint to smoothly be driven while still being supported. Only downside is that it has a 0.5L lip under the pin so its a little hard to mount. Regards, Snipe
  13. OK, I will use the rotation dialog. can't the arrow keys apply to one matrix mutation though?
  14. Hi, I am trying to use fine roate by going to prefs > editing > grid stepping.. However if I type anything less than 1,and click ok, it defaults back to 1 again. The problem is that 1 degree is not always fine enough for advanced building when using the keyboard arrow keys to rotate a part.. So I have to awkwardly use the right click 'rotate' option when selecting a part. Is there a fix or better way to do this?
  15. This is absolutley masterful!. I love the overall shaping and clever techniques such as the rubber tire used for the steering wheel, and the way the headlights go through the panel piece with square hole. And it has movable features on top of that This totally should be a creator expert set. I wouldn't even mind that it is not a "model for play" i'd just look at it all day. Looking forward to more Regards, Snipe
  16. Here are some more cool ideas which you could put in your videos: Reards, Snipe
  17. They can be used when you only want a certain rotation that is not 360 degrees I guess using its axle as a limiter.
  18. Here are the colors for the required technic body panels in order to recolor the Chiron in a single color, or in two tone. https://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?P=24118 https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=18944 https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=24119 https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=62531 https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=24116 https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=87080 https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=87086 https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=64683 https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=64391 https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=64681 https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=64393 https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=64394 https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=64680 https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=64392 https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=64682 https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=11946 https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=11947 https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=15458 Others: (I dont think these are used for the bodywork): https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=64782 https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=18945 https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=11954 https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=42545pb002L#T=C&C=1 https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=42545pb002R#T=C&C=1 https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=42545pb001L#T=C&C=1 https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=42545pb001R#T=C&C=1 NOTE that some other technic and system parts that are used for the bodywork will also need to be in the right color too So the closest colors would be white, orange, dark blue, or dark azure. White, with red accents would be possible if you used the Porsche 911 RSR wheel rims. EDIT: I did a quick recolor I'd use the Porsche wheels and the wheel-disk-brake adapter trick found here or just dont use the bugatti disk brakes with the porsche wheels
  19. It would be cooland not so hard to add a two stage ride height option just like the real chiron has, to get to the top speed the car has an option in the cabin that lowers the car down along with the spoiler.
  20. Here is one way that I think will work, The trick is to lower the old worm gear down by half in order for it to work with any double bevel gear. or turntable (does not work with single bevel gears) LXF file
  21. I have just had a very good idea for a system to support designers and also for 'freelance' designing. It guarantees supporting the lego MOC designers but the small catch is, it requires some work to the eurobricks forum. The implementation specifics of which I will leave to staff such as @Jim. It could technically be a standalone service, not part of the forum, but the forum is a better option because: We are mostly made up of lego fans who are supportive, not "business types" who want to steal lego ideas. We have lots of members to support the designers. Both verbally, though part donations, though freelancing, and through physical cash donations. The way it works is there will be a feature of the forum for members to donate money or just parts in order for the designer to design and update the MOC however if people just want to do a 'generic' donation they still can, say after some MOC progress has been submitted. This also means that members who lack the money, time, parts, or technical skills needed but want to own something awesome still can have that. It can also be used to complete somebody's MOC that is not fully finished. The progress of the MOC is discussed between the designer and the member. They would simply submit an idea and work with the designer. This can be done via the forum or via a PM if somebody is afraid of the actual progress being copied, though the designer will still get paid because the payments are incremental to the submitted MOCs progress. Note that anybody can donate a publicly freelanced idea not just the 'customer member', Maybe they will get discount on the instructions price in return for donating. Any questions, Highlight me. :)
  22. I found a way to use the Porsche and Bugatti hubs/wheels with each other: Here is how to use the Porche wheels with the Bugatti disk brakes: As you can see, I just used x3 lego technic handle pieces on x3 black 3L pins ( I forgot good those pins looked in black ) And presto, the pins shapped in exactually in the wheels pin holes, not sticking out or in at all like previous solutions. More photos here Here is how to use the bugatti wheels with the normal 3 pin hubs: More photos here Here is a slight alternative if you want a fatter looking disk brake/drum: Regards, Snipe
  23. Hi, Welcome to the forum! I was actually watching your video a few days ago, great work. Regards Snipe.
  24. Very Cool. Is it possible to make it a 7 speed like the real car?
  25. Cool, to make it sequential I just need to swap some gears on some axles. shouldnt be a problem much. I'm glad that the speeds are all unique becayse lego (non function) gearboxes are my weak point. Here is the smaller version, however connecting up the two shifter axles is harder here: Here are the photos of the even smaller gearbox Note that I am missing a second yellow drive ring extension, so am using the old one in light bluish gray. The hard part about putting the centre differential inside the power train is that there must be a gear on a seperate shaft which meshes with the 18 or 24 teeth on the differential. I'll have a look to see if I can do it soon :)
