  1. Oh wow Thanks! I will check out these extra settings.
  2. HI, i made a personal tweak to version 1.6b to allow multiple instalces of LDCAD to run with multiple instances on the same computer either sharing the same file (but different submodels for example) between instances, or having different files in each instance, and to also have ctrl+a support in the parts search dialog box. Maybe you could include these two features in the latest verion (which is 1.6c at this time)
  3. Hi, At the stopper end of the axle there is a pin hole, the axle slides through that and does not get pushed out because of the connectors. I don't know how to explain this in engineering terms but for some reason, the connectors can be static but still have pendular motion, where as if I add pivoting spring mounts the springs don't really compress at all. edit, I couldnt compress the springs in LDCAD so they overlap the connectors a bit. In the real model they are pre-compressed a little. I've tested this system out before on my mack anthem B model MOD and it works just fine. I'm thinking about putting the gear racks where the side struts would be for the upper decks because that leaves more space for steering, suspention, etc.
  4. How about adding a sequential gearbox like the porsche 911 RS (With paddles of course)
  5. Normal wheels should work fine too :) here is the MPD file. I am aware that the mini turntables are touching the gear rack holder, need to test that out in real life.
  6. @jb70 Maybe we can fit this mod into pimp my bugatti v1.6 ? It's an RC mod but does not replace the engine or gearbox (which is exactually what I want) It does not have RC shifting yet (I still think manual shifting should be left in by having an "OR latch" like in the gearbox of the lego 9396) so that the paddles do not try to turn the shifter motor shaft even though the shifter motor is not running) https://shoptly.com/i/hgs I have not got around to making adjudtable ride height yet but there is only really one way I've seen to do it (with worm gears) so I'll just copy that. RC spoiler, RC shifting and RC ride height will probably be in version 1.7 or higher I know that the Lego technic mclaren P1 MOC has all of the above things except for AWD, gearbox, shifters and large scale engine so I think it is definetley possible but maybe we should also be re-designing a lot of the chassis for future mods when the full range of new technic parts come out: 28 tooth gear 7 x 11 x 1 frame 11 x 15 x 1 frame Technic baseplate 11 x 19 x 1 Biscuit connector 3 x 3 x 1 Linear clutch New CV joints Wire clips Maybe Control+ and/or Spike prime electronics Buwizz-es
  7. Hi, I thought I'd start a topic which would be a compilation of MODs to the Lego 42098 Car Transporter set. Here Is one of my MODs in progress: I added steering, drive (with a differential) and pendular suspention to this axle and will do the same for all axles. better wheels and more panelling around the wheels and sides will also be added To add differentials to each axle I must raise the trailers lower deck to the same height as the main cabs lower deck. I did this using the same tyres above for every axle and just moving some beams up. Current part count of above: 196 More MODs soon.
  8. I was watching sariels review and noticed that the outrigger rotation can easily be altered by accidentally knocking them. So a mod id like to see is to have the mini turntables driven by worm gears not by bevel gears. That way they are locked in place if knocked. Also to make the jib unfolding less of a co-incidenal feature and more of a reliable feature
  9. busy modding this set: I added steering drive (with a differential) and pendular suspention to this axle and will do the same for all axles. Better wheels and more panels around the wheels and sides. To add differentials to each axle I must raise the trailers lower deck to the same height as the main cabs lower platform. I did this using the same wheels as above for every axle and just moving some beams up. Current part count of above: 196
  10. Hmm it says that spike prime is shipping in early 2020, not in early august as previoustly stated :( https://education.lego.com/en-us/products/lego-education-spike-prime-set/45678
  11. Stud.io can export to ldraw file format (.ldr / .mpd / .dat). See the chapter named 'Import/export' here: https://rebrickable.com/help/guide-to-stud-io/ The above file extentions can be opned in LDCAD which along with the LDRAW tools such as LDSYNTH can flex parts but it's not easy. I'd love to see instructions or a ldr file, I think I can reduce the weight a lot and wanna build this baby too. It would be cool to have the doors and any other functions that use the old air shocks re-done using linear actuators and motors because the rest of the model is already RC/motorized.
  12. Maybe but I don't think so that much. and they will be covered up anyhow. I will try it anyhow by just buying the parts from bricklink. On the upside, there can be even more functions and electronics put in place since its larger than 1:8 which means more advanced models.
  13. I wonder if we can use those rear tires and rims to make a technic supercar that is built at an even larger scale than 1:8. Anyhow, thanks for the review of this excellant set.
  14. I know what you mean. I only really moan if a part design could be better. If theres a set I'm not interested in such as a pullback set (btw I'm buying all of the 2h and 3h technic sets this year so this is not a specific example) I simply just don't buy it, but I understand why they are there. Part design is what makes Lego Lego though so yeah, the number one rule is compatability with other parts. That is the Lego system. With the new CV joints it is not so bad because it still has a better type of axle hole on the female half, So while they are not compatible with regular technic ball joints they are still fairly compabable and also stronger than the old CV joints. I hope it is not too off topic to talk about the new parts in this thread.
  15. I am talking about the female part of the new CV joint. which is not a ball, it is a socket. Therefore maybe a technic ball may fit into it
  16. Have you tried actually connecting the real parts together...
  17. Yup this thing has 10 dials and one crank. I wonder if @efferman will make a longer trailer like he did for the mack anthem
  18. I wonder if the new female CV joint also accepts a technic ball joint. Maybe by design or just co-incidentally. Only @Zerobricks can tell us
  19. @rm8 did a video showing that control+ motors work with the powered up battery box and controller He also shows the new planetary hubs working with the thin technic rims from the 42009.
  20. I wonder if it is better to use spike prime hub(s) in a MOC or a real set if there is more than 4 independently controlled motors and there is not enough space for an extra control+ hub. I say this becasue the spike prime hub has 6 ports which can be Inputs or Outputs. where as the control+ hub has 4 ports that are outputs but may be made to work with new sensors in the future (???) Assuming you can use control+ motors with the spike prime (and we all pray we will be able to). LEGO are certainly considering the best solution as referenced in this video:
  21. Aww maan, so we cant use the bugatti disk brake inner hubs with the new planetary hubs. Maybe the new CV joints wouldnt work with them anyhow I wonder if the porsche rims will fit onto the pins of the new planetary hubs ok? The bugatti rims will as long as you use two 0.5 x 3 x 3 '6 hole pulley wheels' as an adapter. Also how about the same rims from the 42029? Maybe using the new linear clutch with the new 28T gear to make a strong differential would be a good idea. (unless the motors cut out for some reason before the clutch kicks in, in which case, why have a clutch in the 42100 :S)
  22. I can't wait for this review :)))))))))))))))))))))))
  23. Yes, this would indeed need addressing (after looking carefully at the model). I would either have to just support the body with more springs which are used for the pendular mechanism. or I would have to make just the axles pendular, not the entire motor as well. Anyone know why the rear axle has a 9L ball socket link when there is no steering?
  24. One mod I wanna do is make the rear wheels pendular and steered just tlike the front wheels. Just noticed the body is designed to be easily removable:
