Exterminate! EXTERMINATE!!!... Seriously, Dalekbuster, for the love of the brick, either contribute appropriately or please just stop. It's ruining the thread.

A billion times yes, in fact any Futurama sets. Sadly, the licence is with MegaConstrux and I recently saw Brickheadz-type efforts (ugh) in a discount bin. Bender looked half decent (on the side of the box, they didn't have him) but Fry was awful.

I've memory-wiped that particular outing from my brain. Quite. I can't believe they'd be that spectacularly stupid given the pre-planned retweets from both 007/Eon and Aston Martin.

Extremely unlikely given the high cost of making individual moulded heads. That Lego actually produced a second CMF series was a surprise, and let's be honest it didn't sell very well. Sorry but I think the theme is done, over etc.

That teaser quoting Goldfinger pretty much confirms it's a DB5. It has to be, right? The only slight remaining doubt in my mind is that the DB10 in Spectre also had an ejector seat, in a nod to the DB5.

So S@H now confirms Venkman & Slimer release date on July 1 not August as previously reported. *edit* in Europe

Possible that something happened during transit rather than an actual build fault?

Delusional. Half the world's population have seen a Bond film, and it's a global event whenever a new movie (24 and counting) comes out or there's an actor change. They make BILLIONS. That's why Lego have secured the licence. I doubt even half your street has seen a Dr Who episode or even cares. Outside of the UK, those figures drop off the cliff entirely. Look I personally have no interest in Harry Potter, books or Lego sets, yet the fact they're being exhum...err sorry rereleased doesn't mean I repeatedly spam those threads with complaints above how, say, the Twilight series would be more popular and make more money for Lego. Because 1) it's patently not true, 2) I have respect for fellow bricksters who absolutely love HP Think you'd be better off spending your time on other forums amongst fellow Whovians. (sorry mods) ... Back on Aston Martin then, and with Bond 25 soon to start filming, it seems we may already know what his next ride is... *WARNING! MAY CAUSE EXCESSIVE DROOLING* The rear definitely has some DB5 in it.

Creator Expert Cars - Rumors, Discussion, and Speculation
Lucarex replied to SheldonF's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Even leaving aside the obvious Bond appeal, the harder lines of the beautiful DB5 would also be easier to create as a more distinctive and accurate build in brick form, compared to the more generic and curvaceous lines of its modern descendants like the DB9/DBS/Vanquish. I guess we'll find out soon enough. Preparing to be disappointed, hoping to be pleasantly surprised -
Creator Expert Cars - Rumors, Discussion, and Speculation
Lucarex replied to SheldonF's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Someone posted in the Licensed James Bond thread...apparently reads "Limited Model - Coming Soon" I really hope the silhouette is just a placeholder but I doubt it. Given the licensing agreement, to then use it for something other than the iconic DB5 from Goldfinger (reappearing for more than a cameo 50-odd years later in Skyfall) would be an epic fail and a massive missed commercial opportunity. -
Yep. Eon Productions is about as British as it gets in the filmmaking industry, not sure why Digger believes Bond is an American franchise.
-
Assume the hyphen means that the Chinese text reads "Aston-Martin"? I know they're still current sets, but the juxtaposition of those older utility vehicles alongside the Vanquish looks a bit odd. It needs the retired F40 in there. Quite. Seems a bit of a p-tease and letdown now, if that proves to be the case. Oh and looking at the Mini and Routemaster, with an Aston on the way, the obvious gap is there for an old-style London black taxi. I'm calling it now for 2019 release
-
At a quick first glance, I also assumed it was a DB10 (first revealed by AM in Spectre) but on closer look (front skirt and curves) it looks more like an older Vanquish. That it's placed in the Creator line alongside the VW Camper, Mini et al means there'll be no minifig. So I wonder why they needed/tweeted/promoted the Bond license in that case?
-
Anyway, back on topic...sadly from the leaked silhouette, it seems it's not a Bond DB5 but a Creator-scale Vanquish

I assumed it was a Spectre DB10 at very first glance given the 007 Twitter stuff. But yeah, you're right..the front skirt suggests a Vanquish. Disappointing. -

Not this again, jeez You got a great Ideas set (which like others I bought despite not being a "Whovian") and a couple of Dimensions packs. That's it, theme over. Suggest you accept it.

LEGO Star Wars 2018 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!
Lucarex replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I don't mind (gritted teeth) paying a reasonable SW licence "tax" even above other licensed Lego, but these latest set prices are now becoming extremely difficult to justify. -
Digger, just replied above you... Being serious though, I agree a reboot and redirection is needed. And I'd love to see more medieval sets along the lines of the Airjitzu Temple.

Considering the VAG licence seems robust, I'm also adding to the calls for some Lamborghini love. I'd also like to see some classic vintage models (similar to the Ferraris we've seen in Shell promos and Racer series).
