Whilst the price is high re. PPR, it's such a clean looking set design that will probably be an impulse purchase for any AFOL/sci-fi fan. Congrats again to Devon-based BrickBros for their submission - should earn them a quid or two.

Huh? Ship in Bottle is 962 pieces and 89.99 CAD....

Contrary to Falctron's post above, personally I think the magazine is done after this comic special. The story ending says it all. It's being replaced on the shelf by a new Jurassic World monthly.

Yes there is. Large snowmobile on caterpillar tracks, cave with new polar bear, driller and trapper with husky. Definitely too big for a rat. What with the (Manny) mammoth and (Diego) sabre tooth tiger also appearing, I'm guessing they couldn't officially negotiate the licence!

Just hoping that any potential massive disappointment at the lack of narwhal shark army thug (surely they can't?) is outweighed by the awesomness of connecting this modular set up to Ninjago City.

Sharp focussed pics look great but no sign of the large set with new orca as yet...

[MOC] Nexo Knights -- Ava's Stone Embassy
Lucarex replied to Grey Magistrate's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Love it. You can always tell the MOCs that their creators have had a huge amount of fun putting together. This deserves a showing to my very creative NK-loving offspring, and I can guarantee the response will be along the lines of wide-eyed awesomeness. God help me if he says "can we please build something similar!" -
This polybag sums up Hamleys itself. Almost no differentiation whatsoever yet always reliably overpriced Their "finest toy shop in the world" tag is a joke. The original London store is a place to be avoided at all costs and the Dublin store (where stock turnover was so low, you used to be able to find some really nice retired sets) is worse...now an empty depressing soul-sucking experience. Wouldn't give them a penny for this "exclusive", better to save your £6 and spend it on the far superior minifig of Lester in the Leics Sq Lego Store.

The ridiculously quick mothballing/retirement of Phasma (20) and the general convention exclusives farce that leaves all but the most persistent collectors frustrated (god I wish I didn't love Frozen Han 28), has left a bit of a bad taste. Suspect I'm not the only one who has lost interest in the line purely as a result of TLG's questionable marketing decisions.

Pretty sure he means "add-on" (to Ninjago City) which we know is the Docks 70657 set.

In Memoriam: Remembering Nexo Knights
Lucarex replied to Robert8's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Was in a TRU last night picking among the carcass of the closing down sale. Aside from rolling my eyes at the massive 10% off all Lego (which clearly isn't going to shift unwanted stock anytime soon ) I noticed Jestro's Volcanic Lair assembled in a display case. Whilst I passed on that particular set at the time, probably moved by the soulless atmosphere in there (something TRU always maintained even before going into bankruptcy/administration) seeing it there forlornly amongst boxes of seemingly generic Star Wars vehicles and shelves full of Ninjago stuff and ubiquitous City police sets, it struck me how creative and well, fun, some of the NK sets were. Especially the villains. And that, the retiring TLNM sets aside, there's now a big vacuum to fill. -
There had also better be that balloon-popping Narwhal shark army thug in that lot! Where did you see that updated info on Ninjago Docks btw?

Yep, that's what I was referring to! Checked the usual insta and twitter pages but can't see anything...?

We should start to see hi-res Arctic preview pics soon, no? The frozen prehistoric animals, rumoured orca and mystery large exclusive set.

LEGO Ninjago 2017 Discussion
Lucarex replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Can't wait to see a higher res preview of the Docks. Picked up NC finally this week (impossible not to at under 200 notes!) -
Is it though? Too early to tell if this year's sets will cut the mustard amidst a dip in TLG sales overall. All I know is that my boys have shown almost zero interest in the SOG/biker fan/mask subtheme, after being all over TLNM and the admittedly fantastic Shark Army. Given they and their schoolmates are the main target demographic, I'd say that Ninjago isn't bulletproof by any means, Yikes, that godawful minifig looks like something left by a 5 year old on top of the instore build-a-fig station

Finally picked up Lord Krakenskull (and his trusty Krakenbeast) along with the Stone Colossus. A real shame we will never see human Monstrox and all the other concept foresty/wood/watery villains from the first wave BOM. What appears to be the last NK magazine is just out. Called a "comic special". Usual meh minifig but notably no mention of next issue. Storyline seems to conclude with a final battle against Cloud Monstrox, Garg and Jestro.

Hands down one of the most elegantly designed brick-built space vehicles I've seen
-
That selfie kit looks fun, wonder what it'll cost. Interesting to see they're continuing to push the theme, as literally everywhere I see shelves full of them, unloved and unsold. Back in the land of licensed 'Headz, I'm still fuming about the ridiculous number of CC exclusives in this line. If they're releasing a Boba as a regular, why not Carbonite-Frozen Han? Literally the only BH that sets off my inner "I want it now!" impulse.

The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion
Lucarex replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
Built Egghead Mech with the sidekick. Just such a great set in every way. -
Finally picked up Lord Krakenskull (and his trusty Krakenbeast). No interest in Aaron's "climber" vehicle from the set. Hopefully the world of custom MFs will at some point soon bring us a human Monstrox and all the other concept foresty/wood/watery villains.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Lucarex replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Every time I see those microscale cityscapes from Jeff Works (he's done more) my brick-built heart skips a beat. The pure aesthetic of them is just exquisite
