Very pretty and realistic design. It certainly has a warm relaxing feel to it. Great details and the South East Asia feel is present throughout. Fantastic MOC! Is there a physical size limit? I've read (in the Ideas thread) that there is a piece-count limit.

Where should the next People at the ____ take place?
koalayummies replied to legoman19892's topic in LEGO Town
Fun at the chemical weapons disposal facility. Fun at the adult film convention. Fun at the gun show. Fun at the G7 Summit. Fun at the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. ...great MOC potential. -

Ooof, this was a tough call, they're all great so its an unfortunate matchup for the eventual losers (excluding the 3rd poll, thats an easy call).

Wow that is a great find. Those printed tiles, the castle pieces and minifigures. Blue wizzard, complete classic dragon. Super jelly.

I'll avenge you with an MOC of Universal City crumbled to the ground and you as a minifigure driving around in a Jurassic Park Jeep laughing maniacally. Very cool how the company carved out a 415 acre unincorporated zone to avoid Los Angeles business taxes and city regulations but screw this one individual making little Lego vehicles inspired by our film that they enjoy and making exactly $0 off of said toy cars, we make four billion dollars a year so make them take it down now!!!

The OP provided the LDD files free of charge. Simply download: Lego Digital Designer (also free), download the files Imanol BB provided in their posts, open the file and you can see the entire built model, modify it to your liking and create instructions. You can build it straight from the file.

Nooo! 6 hours ago gorilla suit was still hanging on and now sea captain is pulling away. But at least the curse may be waning as bagpiper is nearly assured victory. Or is the strength of the curse inversely proportional to the minifigure preference, so a BrickHat hard choice means a weaker curse?

Survey: New parts and new colors

Hahaha, the two less than correct terms when used together compliment each other quite nicely. Can never have enough bley legos. -
Survey: New parts and new colors
koalayummies replied to Bonaparte's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Always been contradictory/hypocritical to say that it has to be 'Lego' and never 'Legos' with certain sticklers going out of their way to lecture others as to why, yet when it comes to colors those same people lecturing others on official Lego terminology can't be bothered to use the official Lego-designated color names. There is no 'bley'. Medium Stone Grey, Dark Stone Grey, New Dark Red, Reddish Brown, Sand Yellow, Brick Yellow... its pretty simple stuff, Legos. -
I'm not sure if its pre or post quarterly refresh. I go every couple of months and I know some of those were there for a while from previous visits while some were new. The white 1x2 'cheese slopes', 1x2 red brown bricks and black 1x1 cones have been around a while but the 1x1 trans clear cheese slopes and 1x6 yellow plates were new.

Those 1x1 eye prints are always available, they wind up everywhere and also appear to be capable of self-replication/reproduction. The stores local to me have an abundance of 2x4 bricks to the point where even the employees were a bit disappointed in the selection. Recent selection from two CA stores, one large cup from each (contents shown together):

LEGO Ideas: 21310 Old Fishing Store (Fall 2017)

Best pictures so far. Theres a ladder in the image quoted above mounted above one of the window frames of the tower part. As far as how they get into the tower or out onto the balcony... -

Just had a look at the Brothers Brick review and the build process, this is a must buy for the very unorthodox SNOT techniques alone (in addition to being simply awesome subject matter). -

[MOD] Modular-ized Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters
koalayummies replied to koalayummies's topic in LEGO Town
Thanks Carebear appreciate it. Will never be as cool as your huge dormitory! Thanks Chilis! Thanks Actor Builder. Yeah I don't connect them because I use each one as Minifigure storage (CMF line), it spaces out the shelves a little better and I like to take them down periodically to dust them off, look at them for inspiration and otherwise mess with them. -
[MOD] Modular-ized Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters
koalayummies replied to koalayummies's topic in LEGO Town
Not that many. The main concerns were having enough of the supplied large plates (6x16) as I have no extras in the reddish brown, sufficient 1 by "xx" plates and having enough new dark red bricks as I also have almost none of those to spare. The floors of the building are 32x22, using up all of the 6x16 plates supplied and utilizing the building style of the original set of not placing the outer wall bricks on the floor plates (since the set has a lot of 2 by "xx" plates) which is unlike the modular building sets. So the lowest layer of the upper floors are 2 by 'xx' plates but the brown floor plates are all set one-stud inward. Obvious extras are the dual-molded brown doors (three extras) and some black 2x2 window frames since the large window pieces were not used. -
Been wanting to do this for a while. The goals were to turn the GB Firehouse Headquarters set into the Modular style buildings and away from the dollhouse style in the original set using mostly the pieces in the original set with as few additions as possible. I tried several different combinations and hours spent trying different styles and then scrapping those builds including keeping all the floors their original height which didn't work as its out of scale with the other modulars and there aren't enough New Dark Red bricks. Finally settled on a design in keeping with the original style and Modular building style. Exterior: All the floors: Ground floor, might try to include the Earth Green and White striped walls from the original but will need some more pieces. Second floor: Bathroom with Slimer's ectoplasm omitted: Third floor: Roof, not much to see besides the roof access: Happy to be with the other modulars now:

Definitely recommend using LDD, at the very least trying it. Its free, you can build endlessly, change colors on the fly and you have the entire range of Lego pieces to work with. Its simple, easy to learn and the way the pieces snap-together and follow Lego legal/illegal connection rules (with a few exceptions) can be mind-opening and very freeing. Placing self-imposed restrictions can sometimes spur creativity but so can having a huge range of pieces one is not familiar with or have enough of. Build, test, try and design to your hearts content. Then you can get part lists off of the file, use it alongside Brickset and Bricklink and see what parts are available in what colors and make orders from that. A lot of the master builders around here have huge and wide ranging collections of parts, dedicated Lego rooms in their residence, but if you don't have a large and varied collection then designing digitally and acquiring what you need from that is the next best way.

I second that thought. Everyone just close your eyes and click randomly. Something will happen.

Beautiful MOC, brilliant use of a plethora of different pieces, its brick and plate harmony. Packed with detail all over. Spectacular!
