  1. Alright, finally my parts arrived and I could commence construction :) This is as far as I've gotten so far, the trees are still missing and I'll order some more green parts, but it's coming together and I'm quite pleased so far, but unfortunately the corners already started to curl up on 2 sides :/ So if anyone has any ideas how to remedy that, I'd be more than thankful..
  2. yes, that's the TIE Reaper...I would think my photo tells the whole story ... :D
  3. It looks like these smaller sets have a longer lifecycle... I disagree on the troop transports however, to me both are pretty dull, not flaming the LEGO set, because those looked pretty faithful to the source, but the general design of the crafts.
  4. Yes, the lack of AT-ACT is interesting, maybe they will release it sometime in the near future, but if not these waves, I'm not sure they will take away a slot from the bigger sets related to TLJ.. I think it's very likely, we can probably expect to see it in the future movies too, so tying in to my previous reply, that is probably going to be another big set in the next few waves...I hope.
  5. In-game this rotates in 360, just around the horizontal axle. So you can kind of see the back, it's not perfect though, since the back panel covers a lot of the top of it.
  6. Um...not trying to mod here, but you might want to edit your comments a bit more comprehensively. Might be just my problem but I found it hard to follow, with even spaces missing at places. So to your question: although the first one is not about UCS, that set was retired at the end of last year. Check rebelscum for the photos on the june sets, on the linked instagram there's the Lando minifig. I think it's a custom though. I believe that stormie next to it is a CW-trooper with blue vents on the helmet.
  7. While it would make sense, this set was long rumored from TFA, and this particular vehicle was destroyed on screen in the film. I know it's not necessarily final, but actually most of the leaked sets right now look like they are very close to production sets. And honestly, I would rather have that ol' hunk of junk be the big thing still, than a ship like this. It's just not a memorable vehicle. But TFA had very few original designs (and even some of those wasn't in the final cut), so they have this. Btw, they usually don't churn out every possible set in the first 2 waves, this way they can milk it better. Just with this quad-thingy it's a bit more forced than usual.
  8. I don't know if you play Galaxy of Heroes on mobile (if you don't you should, it's great), but there was an update just over the last week, which added the Reaper to the vehicle roster. Unfortunately you can't see the underside of the ship properly, but it's the best reference I've seen so far.
  9. I'm sorry but what is a "maintenance" A-wing?
  10. The bounty hunter battle pack looks cool, although the figures are hard to see, I'll probably pick that one up. Otherwise the one really good set seems to be the scout trooper with the bike, that looks splendid, too bad I picked up a black series hasbro figure of the same for 20 bucks just now... The FO battle pack is nice too for army builders, but all the other sets are... meh for me. THe Vader transformation is an iconic scene at least, and will be a good opportunity to snag Vader and the Emperor for the ones who didn't pick up the Death Star throne room so far I guess. The rathtar thing is just a mess, doesn't look good at all, and seems to be a bigger set, so the price will most likely put off even the people who are interested in it. The quadjumper seems to be a nice model, but I couldn't care less about that craft, same goes for the republic tank, and the minifig selection doesn't seem to be all that good either. Oh well, I guess my fiancee won't mind me not spending so much on lego until fall anyway... Then why does it have minifigs from TFA?
  11. Really nice, well captured, like VaderFan mentioned, maybe a bit more space would be beneficial, but it's great as is.
  12. Sorry for the off, but is that a fact already? I haven't seen any official info about that.
  13. Really nice tower, looks great, but to me a structure where the TIE-s are hung makes more sense, this way the pilots can't really climb in unless they force-jump can they? :D
  14. Looks nice from this angle, could you provide some more pictures though? Mine arrived today, and I already know that I will want to mod it too..the top of the nose is kind of awkward in this set.
  15. Well the parts relative to each other. Either the wings are too small (but those couldn't be much longer tbh), or the body is too big (that couldn't be much smaller because then nothing would fit inside). So ultimately they made the decision to sacrifice faithful proportions to playability, which is totally understandable.
  16. It's a little off yes, but I don't think relative to other sets it is worse. The Krennic shuttle's proportions are way off, Kylo's has the wrong color, the U-wing's troop transport part is too chubby, and the T-70 X-wings are also wrong on so many parts. Honestly, I don't get why the AT-ST gets so much hate lately, it's a pretty fine set IMO. Yes, maybe the legs might be a bit too long (I think next to the hovertank it doesn't look that bad anyway), but let's face it, those slopes are next to impossible to recreate as it was on the studio models...
  17. We're going a little off-topic here, but agreed, it's not much of a shooter, that's why I never got really into it, but you have to give it to the team, they did a damn good job with recreating the iconic locations and vehicles. The reason it's so accurate in models, is because they were actually using original models to render from the Lucasfilm archives, and they visited the original locations. Not sure how much time they've spent on the Scarif DLC though.
  18. Ellisss_2 already posted this
  19. Hey, I just saw this article on /Film where they have concept arts from the movie, I don't know how much different this one is from the final model but it's the best picture I've seen of the tower: Edit: ok, it's pretty different..
  20. Nice! This might be the best rendition of this craft so far.
  21. To be clear: I'm not exactly trying to recreate the docking bay seen on the Finalizer, compared to that, mine is 100% wrong. I was trying to create just a shallower bay, to compliment the setup in my restrained space, still showing as much as possible from the vehicle itself. You're right, this technique would be more in line with that design, but I frankly don't like these solutions, because there will always be a gap between these plates and the sloped bricks. I wanted to create something really wall-like, and sturdy, now my only concern is if the beams will support the TIE sufficiently, I don't want the whole thing to fall over. That's why the upper sections of the wall are hollow, to put the center of weight a bit lower, but I'm still skeptical about it...
  22. Alright, so I've finished the model (more or less) managed to sneak in a bit of trans blue but I'm not so sure about that. It looks like this now: And now that I looked at the topic I realised I forgot the restraining cable....Anyhow, I'd love to see your feedback guys! Edit: Added a chain element to simulate the cable, although on the wrong side, but you get the idea.. No gonna screenshot again, but the model is updated: http://mecabricks.com/en/models/xGejeR9lvKX
  23. I bought a 75165 Imperial trooper battle pack just to feed my addiction until my S@H order arrives, that's going to be the 75175 A-wing, and some pieces for my Endor diorama.
  24. Well I just purchased my first battle pack -the new imperial troopers. What I immediately did was I beefed up the mini walker from the spare parts and some that I had lying around. What you all posted already are great alternatives if I get some more though, the troop transports look great.
