That would be CRAZY. Let's do it. Sci-fi will mop the floor with the other so call forums. Win and we can chat about that.
-
I explicitly said no additional tags. I just pointed there is an awesome contest that you _could_ win flags and that Sci-Fi is going to win Category 3. Other forums can try. But I have faith in Sci-Fi! OMG! YES! Do it!

Summer of Friends is upon us. And like a zerg rush we shall invade and decimate the competition. I want Sci-Fi forum to strut its stuff and show the other forums what we are made of. And of course there are _tons_ of prizes to be won and some awesome Friends tags... While I can't officially offer Sci-Fi tags... Having a Sci-Fi moc winning category 3 would make me happy. And a happy Reg is a fun and generous Reg. Just saying. Come on guys let's kick some butt in Category 3: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=71111

Attention other forums. SCI-FI forum shall win category 3. Bring it. That is all. Cheers, Sci-fi forum.

We were looking at this on someone's phone @ BW. and I believe our reaction was: woh. Jake's getting freak'n amazing these days. Not much to add... The wing and tail structure is fantastically interesting. Only suggestion I have is replace that 1x4 plate you have at the cockpit with maybe that 1x3 sloped curve? would smooth out that area ever so slightly.

Holy smokes! That's brilliant. I love the studless wings. So pretty I really liked the flag shaping on the canopy - neat trick! The arch/span in the wings are super cool... but have you considered adding something in there? like some white greeble or something? It looks like it could add a little something? BTW it's Lego Knight ;)

Wow. This looks GREAT. The LDD was nice, but something about being actually built out of bricks makes me go
-
I had to do a double take when I realized this wasn't a starfighre Really nice build again. The face is pure awesome. Though the arms looks a bit wimpy... he needs to go to the gym!
-
The folding wings are cool... you should have a posted a picture of that functionality here. Nice little build. But that poor guy should have a space helmet! Just in case!
-
Brilliant work. I love the flickfire missile usage, it creates a fantastic shape. The rest of the ship has a great feel to it, you can definitely feel that they are on the bad side... and probably wouldn't want to be caught anywhere near them.

Very nice. Instantly recognizable. The snot construction is quite nice and the trans clear is just PERFECT. That last shot is perfect! The fingers reaching out - gah. Awesome ! Have you considered building more closed eggs? it would look REALLLY cool on a table with lots of eggs and this one opening up.

Okay we suck at remembering award winners. CopMike got the awesome sponsor award for all the things he donated to charity raffle/auction. Way to go Mike! And we thought McLovin was slow... WOW That should have gotten nominated instead of me... Wowza Brilliant job QM!

Absolutely stunning work... This would have been absolutely a fantastic set. I'm glad you guys at least have fun... But you never know... There's always hope... Or make and sell your own sets! I'd buy one!

Hey everyone... Apologies on not getting to this sooner - I was at brickworld and had limited connectivity. While I applaud your initiate -but now isn't the greatest time, we have the SW astro mech contest right now, and something else soon that sci-fi builders may be interested in partaking...(Hint Hint) Though if the building bug has bit you (and it happens) you can take this as a personal challenge from Draik. Cheers, Simon

I was so busy tearing down after the awards ceremony I forgot to get the group EB trophy shot so here's a single shot: :S by Si-MOCs, on Flickr

We forgot Hyler Talliwell ! He won for best creature. Though he was displaying it as part of Virtulug... -- Congrats on everyone that contributed to the build... it was incredible to see it come together. I basically came in to the wrong and was like - OMG - it's *THAT* big? But we got it done, took two full days but I must say it was absolutely incredible. And congrats Rufus and Pandora - the inn was definitely the coolest corner of the layout. And thanks for everyone for their nice comments... ... Next year: Repeat win. Normally the theme is usually decided at BW (I think?). We have a few ideas, but the front runner involves some discussions first... so we'll see.

Planning a massive erection - By QuarryMan - During early planning for next year's BrickWorld EB Build - It looks like we will need to erect some serious supports to make the layout work.

First off, big welcome to Eurobricks! Great first post. Not everyone's first post is as awesome as this. Brilliantly clean build. I love the canopy usage... really unique and well executed. And the box art/photoshopping is top notch. Though for some reason the white rocket boasters just don't work for me. The seem slightly out of place / too high for the wings... usually it's under or 1/2 way into the wings not above... but really I'm nit picking. you did a fantastic job!
-
It's a really interesting design... and you got some great play features. I dig it. I really like how you integrated those windscreens up front! Good job!
-
Please tell me you won! (I forgot to vote). Cause this is an absolutely beauty. As a lover of all things greeble - this is utterly fantastic. Beautiful shape, fantastic detailing, the light is a huge plus. This is probably up probably top 3 SHIP I've seen this year... WOW. What do you have planned next?

It's still around and perfectly valid as far as I'm concerned. It's just not used as much... Though I would definitely go to that standard if I was creating a large moon layout to bring somewhere with other collaborators. I think part of the reason it's losing market share, is that collaborators are starting to build bigger and in smaller teams, thus a rigid standard isn't as necessary. With today's fancy technology it's easy to work with people far apart on building a uniform interlocked build - look at Tyler and Nannan - I have no idea where who starts and who ends... That being said, I do kinda miss the "United Nations" feel to moon bases being different modules that are placed on the moon.... Oh and and someday I _WILL_ build a moonbase ... I already have a bunch of modules planned out... just need to get enough interested party to join with me...or I'll build it all myself.
