Thanks for all the great comments everyone!, I must admit I did have a lot of fun building the face - though at first I was just going to do a big J or something. eww. @LT - Oh something tells me Joker has better tastes in music than Batman.... but I'll leave it up to the viewer's decision on what is being played :P @Penguin - I've never seen that! Awww and here I was thinking I was so clever coming up with a blimp with his face on the side. Heh I guess it did seem appropriate / obvious :P @K-Nut - Wow! High praise! Thanks so much. @Jack - I'll take one at Brickworld... these are actually um... quite big, and it's hard to photograph both together

Joker - Full of Hot air by Si-MOCs, on Flickr "Where does he get all those wonderful TOYS?" After seeing all of Batman's assortment of awesomeness, the Joker decided to get his own ride. Times being tough, he opted for a discarded blimp.... -- After building the BAT-Rotor: , I knew I would eventually need something to display with it at Brickworld... (I hope there isn't a wings of inJustice contest...)

Thanks for all the comments everyone! I actually got into Round 2 of voting Everyone should go check out the final five: http://www.fbtb.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=7828 Thanks! I really wanted to do a classic-retro build... Everyone keeps building everything black! Thankfully I was able to scrounge enough dark blue

de Gothia, I think you just won the "best use of brick-brick" Brilliant. ... and I guess the rest of your build is pretty nice too.
-
Flying carpets aside... there should really be some chairs too ! Then again... if it is a flying carpet... would be nice to lay down...
-
I haven't seen the show... but that's definately a cool ship. As mentioned above the retractable engines are neato! Do they just slide out on tiles?

Thanks for all the comments everyone! Then my good deed for the day is done! Hmmmm... It'd be an interesting carnival build... that's for sure.. It's one of his short stories, so that's why you might not have heard of it ... but It's definitely worth a read (and it's short!). I'd highly recommend it.

"Picture heavy?" It's only one picture Very well done. The smoke and exhaust really sells this entire build for me.

Meat lovers! Sausage, Pepperoni, Bacon, double bacon, smoked bacon etc! Very cool of you Dale, I'll be certain to come find you by the giant ... wait did you say _DARK_ blue? -
With great sadness I post this MOC I created about two months ago. I dedicate this to Mr Bradbury, a titan of Science Fiction. He passed away June 6th. Thank you for letting us into your worlds. Time Travel Safari takes you anywhere and anytime. Join us on safari as we hunt all of the most exotic animals that ever existed. From Wooly Mammoths to Dinosaurs! On special now, hunt the Tyrannosaurus Rex! Just stay on the path and don't touch anything! MOC based on Ray Bradbruy's A Sound of Thunder, the chilling short story about literally the butterfly effect. And a bonus Bradbury tribute MOC: Fahrenheit 451

I agree with your assessment - the bionicle works great for posability - but increases the challenge by hiding it... Though you could always argue the lime green is the ent water flowing through his "veins" The face/beard are I thought was particularly well done. This isn't directed directly towards you - but I always found the movie ents to be so skinny. When I read the book I imagined these monstrously fat rain forest type trees...

Really fantastic build. The details are tremendous. I think the use of the fiery bionical (sword?) is inspired. It's utterly brilliant and gives the ship a whole 'hot rod' feel to it - if that's even possible for a capital ship I must also point out the great colour blocking usage. Lots of great flat smooth red areas with interesting black - not to mention you photographed the black well too - not an easy task! My biggest complaint is the bridge. It feels so small... compare it to the size of your various cannons - I would have expected it to be somewhat larger. /shrug but that's just me.
-
Great fold out leg action. The arms are really nice too. It's really interesting how you built the entire top to lift up like that. It's different - I like. Though for the shot from the front, you should probably use a brighter light - you can hardly see through the dark blue cockpit.

Mark 2 rocks my socks! Nice work with those sloped bricks! No new comments :P

... I'm not taking your stuff down... (serious - my car is full). I'll be driving in hopefully for opening ceremonies on Wed. Do I have any Town/CITYSci-Fi compatriots in here? -
I already picked these out for you I know I'm not as awesome as Rufus, but still
-
I feel special! I will wear... let's see. Oh! I'll wear my cookie monster shirt. Should be easy to spot. AND hopefully people give me free cookies. Win-win!

It might be harder to find than you think... unless you're feeling frisky Z - do we have enough room for Umbro Stormborn ? I'm sure we can make some room. I was going to bring a little 32x32 (ish) Micro backdrop I did awhile back... The Royal Tour - backdrop by Si-MOCs, on Flickr Though I could always move this to my LUG table to make a bit more room for you guys and gals. @ Hyler - holy crap that's tall. rougeang and DD - good to hear you're making progress... and you have what you need!
-
WOW. These are awesome! Really unique and really well done! The joint structures on them are fantastic - incredibly poseable. My only question is the proportions - did you intend to make them so short / with long arms? Also the presentation/bases are top notch. I hope to see more cool builds from you!
-
HAHA Really clever! This made me laugh. I love the face on the second Astronaut! Simple and fun! good job!
