VOTING FOR "IN A GALAXY FAR, FAR AWAY..." LEGO BUILDING CONTES
Si-MOCs replied to vagrant's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Wow some increadible builds. I can certainly sign up to vote... vagrant - would it be appropriate for me to actually comment on the builds? I don't speak russian I could google translate comments I guess? tfk - I think zenn means the white/yellow one - it's based off the ship from the new Promethus movie. (Though I like the other promethus more... ) -
TR = .Tromas from Flickr Starfighter Contest by .Tromas, on Flickr (Sorry to digress from your moc discussion J4ke)

OMG that's like the best badge ever! Congrats! Well deserved.

But REAL film cameras steals the soul! Digital only takes a binary copy of it. Cool make sure you come introduce youself!

Another nice build. Really like the colour scheme you used. Rarely do I see dark red with the trans dark blue and yellow. Works REALLY well. What scale is this suppose to be? it looks like it's suppose to be a huge space station. Really liking what you've made. Though maybe turn up the brightness in the picture (either before you post it, or you an even do it in flickr now!). Keep up the good builds!

Really really nice. Totally feels plausible! And the working weapons bay are awesome. I am very much looking forward to TR's contest. Should be some fantastic ships! Oh so now you're going to choose when you want us to give out some tough love? Seriously it's really well done. Even if I wanted to be super critical there isn't much here to nit pick.

Technically I think this belongs in licensed.... BUT... since I really like Avatar, and now LoK, PLUS there's a lot of early century / steam punkesque stuff... Sci-Fi makes sense... / I'm not complaining.... Good - The the car - really evokes the feel of the cars in the show. Excellent - the facade is great! really nice details there (though the middle section seems a bit off - it should probably have a bit more tan to blend in to the other two sides) The bad - You have Metal, Rock and Fire bending. Where's the OTHER TWO!??! (Do Pro Bending next)

Very nice. You've really got the M-Tron feel down. Are you going to build more? Looks like it can connect to a much bigger base?

MOC: The Tumbler (Ultimate Play Features Edition)
Si-MOCs replied to hjmediastudios's topic in LEGO Licensed
.... I was totally with you ... but that last picture ruins the whole moc seriously the Functional Bat-pod is incredible - they couldn't even do that in the movie. ... am I the only one that wants to see this so called 6 foot drop survivability? -
Nice. I like the wing shape, and how you've continued the two tone colour through it. Though it feels like it needs a bit of white ? or maybe just a white star somewhere?
-
Woh. Some really cool designs you've got going there. I really like the white one - it's got some great an really unique shapes to it. I'm really surprised you didn't do better in the competitions - it's really well done! What are the two things in the back? Are they just micro ships in the background?

Just checking out Siegfried's pics... Great work guys! Really impressive stuff! What SW set was it?
-
Thanks all for the great comments! Oh and I have something planned for Joker too... just you watch! Takua Nui - heh. The other batman is a hologram. To fool criminals, apparently it worked! And it had nothing to do with I was too lazy to disassemble the cockpit to take the other batman out, even though he has the right coloured bat-logo. Okay you guys caught me... this is actually really big. Though when I was describing the it as larger than Batwing- I was thinking Burton movies - not the latest LEGO line. But now that I think about it ... You guys are all right. This is bigger than the other Batwings... (Be it LEGO or otherwise) (though in my defense, I didn't say you had to fly through alleys... and you could always fly through sideways) I will edit post to reflect on your excellent points!

Great shaping Jake! Really liking it. And you're right it's has that TR feel to it. That being said /puts on tough love hat/ I think you could have paneled up the area with the technic frame. For some builders - it could be exposed / greeble structure - but I know for you, you tend to go for more smooth look - and I think for this ship having that tiled up or use wedge plate or something would have been nicer. Similarly I'm surprised you didn't tile up the wings a bit more. While the dark brown stripes are nice, I feel you could have extended it down into the cock pit area (so that the big wedge sort of flows into it - right under the canopy) Lastly your photography. You're shooting from the left side of the ship, but your light source is on the right side... flip it the other way. Honestly the above is super duper nitpicky comments. I really do this this was still awesome !

The other phototip is leave a photo area (be it Photo Tent or Bristol board etc) set up all the time what I found was when I used to have to clear off table / set up the photography area, I would be lazy and not post / take pictures as much. But with the tent up all the time I take more WIP and just random photo of smaller things I might not have taken before.

The BAT-Rotor is the ideal choice for tight urban pacification missions. Larger, but slower than the BAT-Wing, faster than the Bat-chopper, the BAT-Rotor is Batman's most heavily armoured aircraft and allows Batman to infiltrate and exfiltrate with ease. Armed with Rubber Bullets (I swear), Bat-Gas and Bat-Nets the BAT-Rotor acts as a weapons platform either to punch a hole in heavy resistance or to back up Batman in autonomous flight mode. Built for FBTB Wings of Justice contest. The Tilt Rotors rotates roughly 60 degrees. 15 back, 45 forward.

Sometimes he wants to sit back... it must be uncomfortable flying all day. Really awesome VTOL. It looks sooooooo swooshable

Mmmmm Parts pack! Thanks for review!

Woh. Very cool! Certainly living up to your name sake. Really well done. That drill function is brilliant. I like the terrain you made too! My only thought is where do the two guys get to sit? they have to walk :( You should totally build more! You have a knack!

Sdair Zuuree that is an AWESOME window! really unique method. Lord Damaximus Thanks for delivering my paper! Interesting editorial read... It did provoke some debate at the Flagg household.... but I digress... Also Everlast is quite the fortress, hopefully the I.A.M.S. shall be useful in the future... Mikel and Tafik I call BS on that cheat sheet... I present Exhibit A: PAB Grenade: -
Thanks for all the great comments everyone! Though I think the pleasure has to end... with all the rising tensions around the realm... it might make sense to bring my fleet back to Barqa ... refit for ... troubling times. There's no interior.... yet. I was rushing to get it done for BW. Though I was super tempted to put in a scifi-bridge inside

The photo effect is fantastic. It has a really ominous feeling to it... As if something bigger is about to happen. Great outpost too. really able to capture some interesting features in a red block
