  1. SFS Space Fighter System by Si-MOCs, on Flickr SFS - Space Fighter System The Space Fighter System was developed as an answer to protecting the territorial outer space above the Russia-NATO alliance (RNA). After the events of the Orbital War, a new fighter was necessary to meet the stipulations of the Tomar Accord. These earthbound fighters are capable of launching and intercepting outer space threats followed by safely re-entering earth. The Space Fighter System consists of two primary components - the Jupiter Booster Rocket and a squadron of three Fighters. The Russian built and designed Jupiter booster Rocket - which was once the work horse for MoonBase One supply runs - was retrofitted to carry three Orion Class Shuttle Fighters on it's fuselage. This departs form the traditional nose mounted method of payload arrangement. The Orion Class Shuttle was the conventional Shuttle that was once the primary transport for NATO personnel to the International Space Station (ISS) and as well as longer trips to MoonBase One (MB-1). It allowed for decent sized payloads as well as manoeuvrability in orbit and reentry capabilities. It has been since redesigned to be equipped and armoured to preform orbital attack and defense missions. Armaments - The the Orion Shuttle was converted and armed with two Class V Ion Blasters and two Space Interceptor Missiles. Maneuverability was also improved with the addition of several omnidirectional thrusters. The shuttle's dorsal hull was beefed up with similar cladding as the ventral section (or reentry side). The Orbital War The Orbital War was triggered by a series of cyberterrorist attacks which compromised several nation's Orbital Defensive systems. On August 1st - 2057 the systematic orbital bombardment of capital cities launched the world in the first war in orbit. The resulting chaos and nation finger pointing resulted in numerous territorial wars and terrestrial nuclear bombardments. As the slow realisation of the source of the first strikes became apparent, nations banded together to mount an offensive to destroy all orbital weapons systems. In the months that followed - accusations of "attacks of opportunity" were rampant - traditional enemy nations accused each other of faking security breaks and falsifying records. Others declared self defense and their counter offense was justified retaliation. World travel, relations between nations and world trade plummeted as countries looked inward in a protectionist stance. Commodity prices skyrocketed as countries horded materials further hampering the world rebuilding efforts. Tomar Accord On July 2059 World Leaders held the first virtual UN conference - to attempt to settle disputes and create a new diplomatic framework in response to the aftermath of the Orbital war. The Outer Space Treaty - which was previously amended to allow for non conventional weapons in 2049 was completely dismantled and replaced wit the Tomar Accord. Stepping away from the fundamentals of the Outer Space Treaty, the Tomar Accord reverse the previous declaration that no country can claim sovereignty over outer space. Under the Tomar Accord, a nation's sovereignty is extended perpetuity into outer space. In addition, with relations at an all time low, nations failed to trust that there would not be another repeat of the Orbital War if man was left in space. By conciliation it was decided that all manned stations was to be prohibited. This resulted in the decommissioning of the ISS and MoonBase One. The moon, and other celestial bodies shall be no mans lands - and countries are not to set foot without international UN consent. -- Almost late entry to RWSF contest :D
  2. Absolutely epic build. This was my favourite part of the entire layout. It's really hard to give much useful feedback when this thing is already so incredible. The concept is brilliant. The quality is fantastic. The amount of actual details on such a large build is impressive. My only thought is maybe you could have put some sort of tunnel or secret escape hatch to the surface? I couldn't find one and it feels very ... post-apocish to have such a tunnel - at least in my mind. Though I have to ask - how did the layout come together? The completed layout was stunning, the slope and overall unified feel made it look like it was almost one person. How did you guys plan it out? Especially the angle of the slope ? did your team lay everything out exactly eg fourth row should be this height, with this angled slope ? or was it more get on site with a crazy amount of tan brick and built it along the way?
  3. Nice, I like how it totally follows the feel of your other SHIP. And those are really cool use of the baseplates as backdrops. The monorail pieces to hold up the wings are cool - though I'm surprised at how much wait it holds! Though you should probably dust before your next build :P or do a quick wash will help with the presentation factor. Nice, I like how it totally follows the feel of your other SHIP. 6. Very cool you kept it together that long... And I agree with others, brilliant build for 15 years ago. I'm eagerly awaiting what you'll come up with now
  7. Has Blood and Chrome started yet? I'm not too familiar with the latest BSG series ...but I can definitely see some of the awesome resemblances between this and the Ratptors/Vipers from the new series...Once again, love your box work. And I think I like the Viper more. The wheel intakes are great! Nice job
  8. Another great build! I love your ... bright-small-and-cute style. It really works and is extremely well built with some great parts usage. Keep up the good work.

    Lunar Taxi

I totally was thinking that. Which is awesome - cause that was a great movie / great vehicle! And this build matches. But yeah I agree with Jasbury, it'd be nice to embed the pics. You can do it easily from Flickr by hitting the "Share" button and selecting the "BBCode" option and 800 or smaller pic!.
  10. Fun to build is key ! I like the dome - it works well with the white and the grey colour blocking. Nice build.
  11. Agreed. Some nice micro going on. Despite the small size, I like how these feel much larger!
  12. Ha! Sounds like you're practicing for Iron Builder Some definitely fantastic piece usages.... The cow catchers is brilliant. Another fantastic build!
  13. Ha! I love it. Great to see friends building Friends :rolf: Love how you didn't go overboard on Friends colour like some people It really works. And even though you had to change up the display the walkie talkies are hilarious. And Nick's mech is fantastic. Great job guys. Totally a window you would be proud of!
  14. Yeah this is the way cooler than Heroica
  15. Happy birthday taz-man! All you can drinks on me tonight. Just hop onto the Concord or teleporter to get here
  16. Abdas Welcome new brother! New faces are welcome in these dire times of war... And a Tavern! We need places to rest and drink our weary bones. Rasputin - I think you have definitely built the most ... unique. and Different build ... so far. Wow. I'm frankly a loss for words... It's soooo cool. Awesome job! Sdair - Solid entry! The Air Elemental is hilarious. I love how you incorporated all four elements. And something about the water coming out of the sand was really cool. Though your images are a bit dark - you should try to brighten them, or use more light next time! Congrats Sir Damaximus ! Congrats Sir Arlindus ! Amelia Really fantastic build! I've loving the stark contrast from tan / dark orange and the black destruction and dragon. The smoke is really well done. Damaximus - poor little guy. Nice scene though - love the action shot. hehe Khamar Don't worry about it - there's plenty time to do some free builds and try for Challenge 5... assuming Revolword doesn't destroy

    Canadian Eh?

You could also hook up with: http://www.salugcalgary.com/ They're the local LUG. And enjoy your stay ! Don't party too hard
  18. Really fantastic build. I love how with a few simple pieces you were totally able to pull off a Fabuland build... I really liked the subtle use of the rounds on the top windows... adds just that little touch of detail And it looks super fun to build in Fabuland... Though difficult... I tried some tablescrapes early this year - it did not turn out well So hats off to you! Well done!
  19. I was actually thinking that too Added Imperial Throneworld. As well as cleaned it up a bit to make it more viewer friendly... it was actually nice going through it all and reading every one ... I know I'll be using some of these planets for Future MOCs
  20. Probably not for awhile... Hasbro currently has the License for Star Trek to produce Kre-o sets. Maybe some day - stranger things have happened.
  21. Awesome job Ricey! Absolutely love it. I couldn't have done it better myself! I love the funky death ray beam into the window area - all those tubes and stuff are sweet. And poor Osacr :( AHHH! some jerk is stealing the display!
  22. Hey it's the crane again! hehe. Looks fantastic in real life... but yeah... some spikes would look great! hehe that's an awesome engine BTW. (BTW could you please resize your picture to 800 or less?)
  23. Tags are like titles... the more you ask, the lower likelihood you are to get one. Or you might not get the one you want I'm not sure which thread you were thinking of ... Nothing is ever deleted on EB - but if you're looking for the post via the "Find Topics" button on your profile - that only lists about the two years? back for performance issues. The shop crane is adorable. And looks great with the brick built ship

    Angleos

Absolutely astounding. The angles are just so perfect.... brilliant job. And thank you for the exploded shot... some interesting techniques there... How stable/swooshible is this?
  25. Fantastic! I love the snot work... And black - bold choice - and might I say - you took fantastic photos - black is always such a hard colour to photograph. That splash of yellow just adds so much without overwhelming the colour. Though you totally need a yellow space man in the cockpit!
