From Almaak to Zotax: all the planets in the LEGO galaxies...
Si-MOCs replied to TalonCard's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
If you guys want to feed me info I'd be more than happy to keep this thread going ... to be honest I missed this thread last year. -
Awesome AC -great build. Nice to see you build on a human scale instead of your usual superhuman layouts Though to all the "why isn't the ground tan" nay-sayers - have you considered that it's scorched ? Loving the ring around the saucer.
-
Woh that last one has some crazy angles in it... some great mocs even though they're not polished/finished!
-
That's awesome. I love the eye usage... is the eye on a rotating axis so it can look around? it's actually quite impressive, I would have never guessed that came out of old spongy... Fun stuff! Are you going to get more sets and start building more?
-
Okay. those are adorable. Really great build in such a small package. *hits the like button*

Ah... I forgot about Quebec laws - which can be quite different than other provinces. Though I absolutely agree - once they charged your card - then they've accepted the contract to provide you with goods you requested... Speaking of Toys R Us - this weekend there's 20% off existing clearance priced items. Some Car and PQ sets. As well as the build a Buzz and AC mothership. Pretty good prices if you're interested in these sets.

Hi legomr - please don't reply to old posts (or 'bumping') these really old threads unless there is a _really_ goodd reason. This particular moc was posted three years ago! If you have questions on bumping you can read more more here. Or of course you can always pm me or staff if you have any other questions.

Historical refers to the time period for most items in the forum. Even though LOTR is fictional - it's elements are similar to some historical (castle) themes. Hmmm interesting story - congrats on the great score! .... But are you sure it's illegal? Usually in the terms and conditions it's stipulated that the online retailer can cancel the order at any time for any reason... (unless they've charged your card of course...). So I was a bit surprised when I read your post. Even in physical stores it's a voluntary agreement by the retailer to abide by the Scanner Price Accuracy Voluntary Code... I just don't want people here to get wrong information... The fact that they were even offering a $45 rebate is surprisingly nice, I've had multiple times where I tried to 'sneak by' an obvious price error only to have it refused. I guess when you charge a LEGO premium you can afford to be nice at times

Very impressive build... The attention to detail is astonishing.... Forgive me if you've talked about/answered this before - but how do you photograph such large mocs? What's your photography setup like? I would love to aspire to do something this incredible some day - and would love to be able to show it off like you.

I agree that some smaller shops do charge a premium on LEGO - unfortunately that's more about cost of doing business than them trying to gouge us. Unlike Toys R Us who is able to negotiate more favourable prices with their massive orders (I assume), small shops I would think HAVE to price theirs higher to make ends meet, where as Toys R Us - they price theirs higher because they can. And I think it all depends on where you go, I've been lucky enough to find a 9v Harry Potter train once at one of these places for about $20 over MSRP - about 2 years after they disappeared ... I was pretty happy. Ultimately you can shop where you want. Don't like it - don't shop there - there are plenty of free shipping days @ S@Home - so there isn't really much of excuse... unless you're willing to pay for instant gratification. I think a far more interesting and important point is: WHERE DID YOU GET IT FOR $80 ? And why are you not sharing with the rest of us?!?!?!

Kaliphlin Guild: Homepage, Sign-up and Discussion

Ageven Deraim, you must be parched from your long journey through the desolate wastes.... Mead! Mead shall ease your tired bones. But a green patch you say? Fantastic! It always surprises me all the little patches of green oasis in our desert! Sebeus I Mead! With in a right handed stein! for our Righty friend. Welcome welcome! I look forward to buying from your ship! -- Yoshi That ship looks great! Nice little quick scooter to move around that Mountain Town folks! Tafik Hope you have a safe holidays and see ya in a few weeks! Saladus that is distressing news... while I have done the mental counts before, it is understandable that people lose interest / life gets in the way... Even I have underestimated the amount of work required - or the unanticipated responsibility/promises that takes me away from my beloved guild... But when I lurk (which is a lot) I see how great you guys are doing... and if we just had a few more members we'd be easily taking home the gold And those that have stuck through it - thick and thin - your rewards will be forthcomming. Trust me. Dugal While it's important to build for the guild - keep in mind that this is about you. And building something you can be proud of. I'd rather the guild come dead last, but everyone be proud of their builds, than to put out builds for sake of points... the ranks are fun, but ultimately this is all to try to help every single person build better, polish their presentation skills, and ultimately have fun  Dr Rod that counts as MASSIVELY active I saw pics of your layout earlier and it's great to see GoH representing at shows ! Saladus What a lovely entry! The water and and particularly the tower is fantastic. I love the dark tan running down the tile... The roof and that arch of swords was also really well played! Ageven Nice little micro you got going there. I agree with others that a bit more foreground would be nice. I did like how the did add the slopes on the top of the mountain, and the little snow cap is nice. Though maybe add a bit of an on the dune? there's a pretty sharp 4 long edge that is super noticeable - a single tan tile would make a big difference at that scale. Erudhalion Haha micro scale mondays! Brilliant. And really nice build... I should try doing micro again - it was really fun last time Sdair haha quicksand! I didn't think that... brilliant! Rasputin we're WAYYYYY ahead of you -
Waldo Liu - Has everyone seen the BrickWorld timelapse setup video? Let's just say I'm planning on wearing a red and white stripped shirt next year. With matching toque. And standing in random spots for five minutes at a time. From the ever so clever ZCerberus - title given by Ricey...

Happy belated Birthday! And what an awesome build to celebrate with it! I was never the biggest Spyrius fan... but this may change my mind. Brilliant build, and hilarious video. Well done ... again! Though the ship seems to be lacking a bit of that slick smooth J4ke charm to it... still awesome though :)

The feet are cool / interesting. And you should definitely use them.... for something else. I could totally see it as like a highspeed scout mech or something. This looks like a brawler and can stand in a fight... those legs ... less so. But the build is absolutely fantastic. I've never built a Mech ... but it always astounds me when I see them dome... especially when they're so nicely done here... Hope to see a few more mechs from you!
-
Lovely ship ! Brilliant shaping with all the curved pieces... Though I have to ask - do you normally create smaller versions of you creations an scale them up? It seems like a really interesting idea to do micro versions ... I've known castle people to build micro scales first, but never for ships...
-
Damn. That's a beauty of a fighter. Great - GREAT - angles and lines to it. The engine and greebles are awesome. Definitely some great usages there... And the back hatch thing is super nifty! Also what a great start to a Space Police force! Can't wait to see your space truck!
-
Wow! I'm not the biggest fan of Bionicle ... but I do love it when people uses it so elegantly with System bricks! And you did a phenomenal job! The pieces fit so fantastically well - and he's soooo posable to boot. I really liked how you made it monochrome, but had the blue ADU to add a bit of colour contrast. Really nicely done!
-
Great job everyone. It was great to see so many people get in the spirit of Summer of Friends!
-
Haha that is awesome. Brilliant idea and some fantastic details. The micro sets andd the storage head are fantasticly played! Great to see more friends moc
-
I didn't see anything I did in the trailer - I want my money back Joking aside, looks great John, can't wait for it to arrive in my mailbox
-
Okay. Those are really cute. I love them. You definitely captured the 'feel' of the characters while keeping them in nice little small ships. Though the AC mothershipy thing is my fav
-
I want that pyramid set! heheh Nice sets - and well thought out box art - I like how you used the cut off squares
-
Some nice minifig combos there. I also liked how you used the "flexy spike" piece - it makes the speeder feel super fast I can't tell - but is there a place to put his gun?
-
Awesome frames. The posability is incredible. I have yet to actually play the game, but seeing awesome builds like this makes me want to
