  1. Nahhhh, not in my eyes What made the three CMF series so special to me was the wide range of characters we got, which would be lost if they focussed only on princesses or villains. Not that I‘m totally opposed to the idea, but given the choice, I‘d want them to continue as before with a colourful mix of characters
  2. I wish more CMF series did that, but I get why it‘s exclusive to the D&D series. Character customisation is such an integral part of D&D, they couldn‘t just ignore it And the other reason are the faceprints themselves. With any unlicensed series, finding a fitting faceprint to represent another gender is easy since they’re all yellow, while some of the D&D species have uncommon skincolours (like orange), making it a lot harder to kitbash a gender-bent version, hadn‘t they provided both male and female options. Definitely one of the best CMF series so far
  3. That has been debunked already. And even if it hadn‘t, we have the full set list for this year and he wouldn‘t have fit anywhere
  4. Sorry, but I did NOT like that trailer. A regular song and stuffing the trailer to the brim with random accolades?! What is this? I mean the actual footage looks good, but this is easily my least favourite SW trailer. The SC one with the Huttese version of Major Tom was pretty out there, but at least it was creative! Thank the maker they‘ll release 3 episodes at a time!! That‘s what they should‘ve done for S1, as everyone said And yeah, that TIE Avenger would‘ve made for a cool set. Alas…
  5. Not me The main antagonist dino has always been paywalled behind the largest set of the wave, and I doubt they‘ll change that ^^
  6. Huh. Good to know there might be another set after all! The fact there‘s a price attached makes it a lot more credible!
  7. The minifigs-to-parts ratio has always been very inconsistent. You can find a $650 set with two minifigs on a shelf right next to a $100 set with seven minifigs. This has never been proportional It always depends on the context. I imagine most people will be perfectly happy with 7-8 minifigs in the Bag End set, since what can you do with a strictly FOTR-based set? Include a bunch of random Hobbits? The quality and selection of characters matters more, in my opinion. If a highly desired character is featured, people are more inclined to forgive an overall lower number. And even if it was a $400 set based on The Hobbit, they‘d never include all 13 dwarves as they‘d have to resurrect a ridiculous number of moulds
  8. Indeed, especially compared to previous years. The Sailbarge alone pretty much had the same number of new and resurrected parts! But I‘m not gonna dwell on it. In my mind, this year‘s SW budget simply went to a different theme. Just like HP „stole“ some of its budget from JW in 2018, I like to imagine they took SW‘s budget to finance all the new pieces for the One Piece theme (And it seems JW returned the favour this year since HP so far also seems to have very few new pieces)
  9. Why tho? LeFou and Maurice have a lot more screentime and are equally unlikely to ever appear anywhere else Ideally, they‘d include all of these characters, but it‘d be a miracle if the set included more than 5 minifigs. My prediction is thus Belle, Beast, Gaston, LeFou, and Maurice as minifigs and Lumière, Cogsworth, Mrs Potts, Chip, and maybe the cupboard (forgot her name) as brick-built characters. Oh, and the Tim Curry CGI organ. Yeah, not gonna happen on any timeline in the multiverse, but that‘d be hilarious
  10. Knockturn Alley will definitely get a (non-GWP) set at some point, but the question is which system it will tie in with. As much as I‘d like to see a D2C DA expansion, I think a playset version is more likely, for the reasons outlined above
  11. There is no guarantee, but there‘s also nothing stopping them from releasing another ITSV/ATSV set next January Doomsday and Spidey [insert Home wordplay here] will undoubtedly dominate next year‘s movie sets, but there still has to be a January wave, plus some August sets that have nothing to do with either movie. As I said, we don‘t need a ton of sets to cover the basics of ITSV and ATSV, one or two each would suffice if they handle it right!
  12. Exactly. On top of rhinos and octopi, there are still frogs, kangaroos, goats, birds, eagles, elephants, lions, hippos, alligators, gorillas, ducks, hamsters, and probably some others I‘m forgetting It‘s gonna take a while before we get one of each of these (if the theme even survives that long!), but it‘d be nice to scratch at least one or two off that list this summer ^^
  13. Yes, they‘ve featured both exclusive prints and characters before (but no new pieces, obviously) Examples include Aunt Beru, a Ringwraith, the 2018 Ollivander, the Christmas Carol GWP, and some entries in the series of vignettes with famous scientists/explorers/engineers/architects (Earhart, Goodall etc,).
  14. If I had to chose between Lefou & Maurice and the human versions of the staff, I‘d pick the former. The latter only appear very briefly at the end, after all
  15. You‘re overthinking it. This is a customised error page that shows up because we‘re looking for a set number that we shouldn‘t know about Pretty amazing they‘re doing this!
  16. HOT TAKE INCOMING I prefer having more obscure characters in the CMF series. Spider-Woman has a decent chance to appear in another ATSV or BTSV set, while characters like Webslinger by or the werewolf Spidey are unlikely to show up anywhere else. Same goes for the ITSV characters. A set or two, and they‘d all be covered That said, of course it‘d be pretty silly if this was it for the subtheme and they never touched it again. Having these obscure ATVS characters, but none of the variants from ITSV would definitely justify negative reactions. I highly doubt that‘ll be the case tho, more Spider-verse sets are surely coming next year!
  17. LAME. Unsurprising since that‘s also what the first rumour we heard about the set said, but still quite disappointing Maybe @Mandalorianknight is right and this means the Double Death Troopers have a unique helmet piece!
  18. Exactly that! Bigfig hands can hold elements with bar connections, but you need to make sure they click into place It’s sort of like a clip connection, but you need to apply some force. I can’t see the LC working as a DA expansion for multiple reasons: 1) Whether people think of it primarily as a pub or an inn is irrelevant since it IS a pub, which TLG tend to avoid. 2) It’s the entrance to DA, yes, but that’s part of the problem. Unless such a set includes some new shops, who would buy the mere entrance to a place you have to purchase separately? 3) The 2020 DA set is on its way out, so any further expansions are kinda too late. Sure, you could say the same thing about Ninjago City, but I think those work a lot better on their own, compared to a DA expansion that doesn’t include any of the shops that people would instantly recognise. 4) The LC by itself is not as iconic as Gringotts, Ollivander’s, or WWW, making it a tougher sell in comparison (again, unless they spice it up). 5) We have three DA systems now. They just released a $200 microscale version and there’s another playset coming, so I have my doubts they‘d muddle the waters further by adding an entry to the first system too
  19. That CMF list sounds great! …if it’s true, that is. Judging by what @a_clay_brick says, it’s “mostly” consistent with what he heard, so it’s possible some of the characters end up being different And that leaked torso is interesting… There’s no currently unknown set as far as I’m aware, so we have to wait and see if it’s real or not (and where it shows up, if so)
  20. Wouldn’t be surprised to see Gaston again, but the other characters will likely be brick-built, just like their Didney Princess counterparts. Fingers crossed for LeFou and Maurice, but we’ll see how generous they feel
  21. Hope this is real, but it does seem authentic! Beast looks great IMO and the castle apppears to be pretty massive Plus it’s gonna be the best source for lavender pieces ever created, by the looks of it!
  22. There is some drama going on in the Brick Tap Discord channel about who’s supposed to get credit for the leak. Since it was Thebrickreporter who made it public (and first credited the wrong Discord member it seems), I’d be cautious. Maybe it’s true, but I’ll wait for further corroboration before getting excited
  23. There seems to be some drama going on, so I'd wait for more sources to confirm this
  24. Almost guaranteed. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think they’ve made an announcement or revealed some sets each March 10th since the theme was born! It’s kind of a tradition now, even the announcement of the theme itself was made on that day in 2020
  25. I unironically want this, especially if a minifig-scale version is included DO IT YOU COWARDS
