DC Superheroes 2025 - Rumors & Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
I just thought the TDK Two-Face faceprint was too subtle to work as a comic version which usually looks way more manic and exaggerated, but y‘all are right, this is LEGO DC we‘re talking about -
Are there too many licensed LEGO themes?

…there is no „could“ here, it 100% is Turtle. This was obvious from day one Same grammatical errors, same habit of posting random YT links, same preference for listing things, same writing style, same insane takes -

It‘d be hilarious if it wasn‘t actually an RTG set after all, but it definitely will be since Jedi Cad Bane has been hinted at before We still don‘t know what kind of vehicle it is though. -
Are there too many licensed LEGO themes?

Word. Some people seem to be blinded by nostalgia and conveniently forget that the 80s were 40 years ago. Tastes change, and kids don't necessarily like the same things their parents did. There might still be a market for classic themes, but you can't expect kids nowadays to go nuts for themes that were popular back then. The recent throwback sets were likely mostly bought by adult fans and not kids. Overall, I kinda find it tedious and somewhat childish to try and pit licensed and in-house themes against one another. They can easily co-exist peacefully, and I fail to see why everything has to be turned into a battle, similar to Marvel vs DC nonsense or silly console wars, except within the same company -

And now it's Hermione's turn to get shafted I think the HE actually works better as bookends as opposed to a book nook, but I hope the LOTR won't share that fate! Unless it's the Balrog on one end and Gandalf on the other. YOU SHALL NOT PASS... through these books in-between us!! -

If the set is based on ROTS, it kinda has to be. It could also be a more generic Clone set that just happens to feature Bacara and Galactic Marines. Not sure what the point of that would be, but this is the same year that gives us a yellow AT-RT, so who knows -

Which one though? The last comic-based one was released in 2019, and bringing back a 6-year old print isn‘t exactly likely. And they clearly won‘t reuse the TDK version in a comic set -
Are there too many licensed LEGO themes?
BrickBob Studpants replied to imposter's topic in General LEGO Discussion
As much as I like in-house themes, I wouldn‘t want to give up a single licensed theme for an expy theme Some of the takes in this thread make my head spin, but that‘s Turtle for ya Cutting all licensed themes but 2?? No offense, but boy am I glad you guys have no say in what TLG does. Just imagine pitching some of these ideas. Yeah, let‘s get rid of 3 of the biggest sellers and replace them with themes that all failed hard in the past and died after less than two years. THEY‘LL BE DROWNING IN MONEY! Also, this isn‘t the 80s and 90s anymore. If Classic Space, Pirates, Western etc. still sold as well as 30+ years ago, they‘d produce sets. Some AFOLs like to point at Playmobil for still doing that, and now look where that got them -

Not sure where the scepticism is coming from, as there absolutely will be a full wave for M&G It‘s the first movie in 6 years and they definitely want to capitalise on that! I can easily picture a wave of sets based on the teaser alone. That said, I hope for some new vehicles and locations too. All the previous initial movie waves featured both familiar and new stuff! -

I‘ll believe it when I see it. A DC set with more than 5 minifigs is more rare than a sane post in the Aslume thread! -
Marvel Superheroes 2025 - Rumors & Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
3 weeks isn‘t that bad I think. CBMs are pretty front-loaded anyway, so 3 weeks in, numbers for Doomsday will be dwindling no matter what, making way for Mando ^^ Sure, we had a pretty similar situation with Infinity War and Solo back in 2018, but Solo had pretty lacklustre marketing, was sandwiched in-between IW and DP 2, people were accustomed to expect new SW movies in December, and a Han Solo origin story was always gonna be a tough sell. If Mando has good marketing, I don‘t see much of an issue here I think that was already confirmed by leakers a while back -

Is there a particular reason you assume the Mando sets to be the ones with the lower set numbers? I don‘t recall the leakers commenting on that. Previous movie tie-in waves followed the regular numbering patterns, after all Had the movie been delayed, this would make perfect sense, but it hasn‘t. May 2026 was always the intended release date, at least publicly. -

Most likely, this list is incomplete. They can’t get away with fewer than 5 sets for Doomsday! Even with the cutbacks on new MCU films, it‘s still an Avengers film, after all -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
BrickBob Studpants replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I see. Yeah, that’s baseless speculation then We’ve known for a while that the movie was not gonna be released this year, so this couldn’t have affected the series. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
BrickBob Studpants replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
What exactly is this Spiderverse delay speculation even based on? The third movie comes out in 2027, so that clearly won’t affect anything Moreover, the Spot set came out in January without a hitch, so why should the CMF series be any different? -
Lord of the Rings Ongoing Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Momotof's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
While Minas Tirith is near the top of my wishlist, what I want the most are a Mûmakil and the Witch-King Both could theoretically be included in a Minas Tirith set, but one focussing on the Battle on the Pelennor Fields would be preferable to me if it features them. -

Unless something changed, TLG views June releases as 2HY already. August waves only became a thing pretty recently! That said, it can’t be entirely ruled out that some of these are for June regardless since we sometimes get lists for the entire year like with this year’s JW sets, but since they’re specifically referred to as 1HY sets, they should release in January, March, and May -

One of my favourite examples will always be that Snydercult guy with a Darkseid profile pic, asking what the New Gods were when that movie idea was still around That PPR is suspiciously good… I’m still not getting my hopes up until we hear more details. DC has burned us enough lately. -

BrickBob Studpants replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
According to Brickmerge, there will be 12 Superheroes sets in 1HY 2026. 3 of them are 4+ (11206-08), likely more Spidey sets. 76344 is an 18+ set. As usual, some of them might be DC ^^ -

Lord of the Rings Ongoing Discussion

I ordered The Shire online, fearing the GWP might be out of stock at the LEGO store, and of course, when I went there on Thursday to get some other new releases, there was still a whole bunch of them behind the counter! …so being the impatient manchild that I am, I bought a second copy It’s an amazing set in my opinion! Sure, the price is steep, but it’s worth it in my opinion.
