  1. In case you're not aware, pictures from the retailer catalogue have leaked for a lot of themes, but Marvel is NOT among them. Just so that you don't get your hopes up
  2. Pictures of the summer sets just leaked We finally get some phantoms and an armoured horse!
  3. I like what I'm seeing here Please keep in mind that these are preliminary pictures, the final ones will look much more polished of course. Interestingly, these are the first prelims we've seen for any sets in the reboot Oh, not HP-related, but I love the fact we finally get a minifig-scale Pluto
  4. Pictures of the 2HY catalogue leaked, and there's going to be a 4+ minifig-based theme with Mickey & friends I thought those were Duplo sets based on the set numbers, but they're not. Finally, we have a Pluto figure!
  5. I think another series would make sense considering the amount of characters and versions we‘re still missing However, I draw the line at three, a fourth one would be pushing it (especially since we‘d be deep in remake territory by then, if the theme still exists at that point). The reduced number of figs per series shouldn‘t be much of an issue, unless they simply cannot live without new versions of Luna and Neville
  6. The Marvel sets are still unknown for instance
  7. Could be days, weeks, or months, nobody knows We haven‘t even seen all set lists for June yet
  8. Watch this thread go up in flames once the August set list drops ...then again, we should be well prepared by now
  9. Nah, the timetravel shenanigans in The Cursed Child got even worse and Scorpius finally ended up as a dinosaur
  10. I certainly hope so A throwback to the 2001 boxart with a modern twist could look excellent
  11. Then what‘s the point of the second wave? If they didn‘t want the anniversary wave to outshine the other sets, why even release another wave two months later? Or maybe both waves are anniversary-related as others have suggested I need to think of a recipe first And don‘t think I‘ll forget it I have to admit I‘ve also had my fun with creating horrible prediction lists over the last week or so, but the wave won‘t be THAT bad. In fact, it will probably even be decent (or dare I say GOOD), at least without context. However, them taking the spot of the DH wave we were all expecting will leave a sour taste, no matter how good the sets are. Subverting expectations is a dangerous game
  12. Obviously, not everyone has time to keep up with this thread so I‘ll quickly summarise what we know so far: The first red flag was a post on Falconfan‘s IG story, where someone asked him what this wave would include apart from DH sets, to which he replied with „Who said anything about DH?“ (slightly paraphrased) Then, Guyon advised us to „significantly“ lower our expectations after consulting his source. Next, FalconFan said here on EB that we‘d be „in for a shock“, although it‘s unclear whether this concerns just the D2C set or the whole wave Guyon (semi-jokingly?) then responded to a comment wondering how bad the sets could get with „you‘d be surprised“. Finally, Guyon clarified these warnings are about the discrepancy between our expectations and the real sets and NOT about their actual quality. After all that, I don‘t think it‘s unreasonable to assume we‘re not getting what we thought we would
  13. They are not. Again, both Falconfan and Guyon are trustworthy, we can all vouch for them
  14. Honeydukes was part of the 2004 Shrieking Shack set, so the Hogsmeade set technically counts as an anniversary one
  15. That‘s the issue here: if the anniversary is so important that nothing is allowed to distract from it, then why is there even a second wave at all You never said it did happen either
  16. Your examples are exactly why I’m expecting a full PS/CoS wave More sets based on PoA, GoF, OotP, and HBP were named just as frequently as Gringotts and DH sets. In light of this, the only way for the warnings by Guyon2002 and Falconfan1414 to be justified in my eyes is if these expectations aren‘t met either In 2019, we got a regular Star Wars wave in January, a dedicated anniversary wave in April, and a wave for TROS and Mando in October. That worked perfectly fine, so I don‘t see why an anniversary + DH wave would have been an issue. And if that was their thinking, why are they releasing an August wave in the first place? Wouldn‘t the June wave + D2C have been enough then? Raw or cooked? @Puresh still hasn‘t eaten their Joyce minifig as far as I‘m aware, so this time I‘m making sure promises are kept
  17. I’d recommend reading @Guyon2002‘s first post on page 71 It‘s not the quality of the sets that prompted our informants to warn us, it‘s the expectations about DH and Gringotts we previously held. Assuming my idea of skipping DH in favour of more PS/CoS is correct: Wouldn‘t it be hilarious if the darkness of the latter two instalments was what caused TLG to skip them. „DH is too dark for the kiddos“, let’s instead produce more sets based on the more lighthearted early films, where Harry graphically kills a teacher with his bare hands and impales a giant snake‘s brain with a sword, much more kid-friendly
  18. Why are we discussing 4+ sets again? That has been ruled out already Moreover, @Guyon2002 has specified it‘s the set selection that‘s disappointing, not the quality of the sets themselves
  19. Nope, just an assumption of mine because it would fit all the requirements: Skipping DH entirely and starting over with PS/CoS would indeed be shocking to anyone who thought they‘d continue with the same pattern as in the last three years It would be incredibly devisive: people would either love more sets based on the early movies or hate that idea since the latter half of the series is either barely covered or not at all The set quality wouldn‘t suffer Of course it could still be something else, but so far that‘s the only option that‘s been presented that completely fulfills all three of these points. I appreciate people‘s optimism regarding DH, but if there‘s not a single set in that wave, I wouldn‘t hope for them next year either. If they‘re not even willing to cover them in the year the finale has its tenth anniversary, they likely won‘t bother with them any other year either. By that logic, we‘ll only see DH sets once they want to end the theme, which will probably only happen if sales start to nosedive, in which case the budget would be reduced. No thanks
  20. Maybe DH is too dark for TLG after all Makes no sense at all, but if the August wave truly consists of PS/CoS sets they obviously have no investment in ones based on DH Shame, but we‘re talking about toys here after all. Kinda sad that all we have to represent DH in LEGO form are two 2011 sets, a CMF figure, and a sticker on a tombstone
  21. Ok, I ammend my prediction a bit: they‘ve skipped DH and start over again with PS/CoS, but no remakes of post-2018 stuff Some people would love that, but the ones who wanted DH sets definitely would not.
  22. We don't know if there's going to be a third series to begin with. So far, none of the licensed series have made it past series 2. And if the theme's quality really starts to decline like it seems to do, they may just as well not bother with a third one
  23. Yes. But "you'd be surprised at how bad they can be" should do the trick My money is still on them skipping DH and starting with PS/CoS again with pointless remakes of post-2018 sets. The ones that'll love them will probably be the people that missed them before Or maybe they'll include one new-ish minifig or creature in each set just to make us buy them all again
  24. I knew I wasn't the only one
  25. @Falconfan1414 has been a trusted source for years with countless examples (basically everything Marvel and DC related for instance). @Guyon2002 is new in the leaking business, but he's been active on EB for a long time now and it's thanks to him we've known the set numbers for so long now. As I've said, both of them are trustworthy
