Harry Potter 2021 - Rumors & Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Is there a way to compare these two waves without giving anything away, like a metaphor? I‘m not prying for specific info here, I just need something to grasp on to mentally prepare myself for what horrors await us -

That we will either love or hate them and that people who already don‘t like the anniversary sets will downright despise these We still don‘t know exactly why our informants dislike them so much. Set selection? Builds? Minifigs? All of the above? It‘s been implied that the selection is the culprit, but nobody knows for sure -

I don‘t think it‘s that bad. Even if you omit the golden minifigs, the amount of minifigs in these sets is still impressive and the new prints / recoloured pieces shouldn‘t cost too much either If they can suddenly afford three waves in the same year, they obviously must‘ve had a budget increase I‘m curious about the wands, a pearl gold version could look pretty nice -

I‘m also quite excited to see them. Of course there‘s not much of a purpose to them (not even from a scavenging perspective, what are you going to do with golden hairpieces for instance, in case they have them?), but they seem like a nice collectible. I already appreciated the 2019 SW anniversary figs, but these sound superior -

This whole situation reminds me of why I didn‘t miss catalogue leaks all that much Sure it‘s nice to get some visual confirmation for some things, but people always react very negatively to them. Of course they don‘t look polished, because they aren‘t Their purpose is to give retailers an indication of what’s on the horizon so they can plan orders accordingly. There’s a reason customers are not supposed to see them -

Also a good question. I think a lot of people at least wanted the Bell Towers to sort-of complete Hogwarts, but that‘s probably out the window now Something tells me the reactions to the August wave by our informants wouldn‘t have been as harsh if something like that was among the sets That wouldn‘t be much use anyway, considering they rarely show new prints in preliminary images. Look at the other torso and face prints, they‘re all reused -

Agreed. I have a feeling the golden years of this theme are over, but they could always improve again -

Good question. From what we‘ve heard, the August wave WON‘T be a return to form, so maybe next year? -
Lego Minecraft 2020 Rumors & Discussion

For those who missed the pictures: 21171 includes a new player skin from what I can tell, a small stable, a horse with diamond armour, a green trident, and a skeleton riding a skeleton horse. 21172 includes Steve, a Wither skeleton weilding a diamond pickaxe for some reason, a baby sheep and a hoglin (that hilariously uses the furnace print as a placeholder for its face). The Nether biom depicted here is the new crimson forest one 21173 is WEIRD. 3 structures (a house, a tower, and small platform thingie), all with green roofs The player minifig has new skin, wears a white helmet and elytra, and holds a silver or grey trident in one hand, and fireworks in the other. Two phantoms are also included, plus a cat/ocelot. 21174 really does look like a modern treehouse with multiple rooms stacked on top of each other. No mobs are visible anywhere in the image though 21175 includes a player mob, an iron golem, a skeleton, a carnivorous plant and... Groot?! I wonder why they include two tridents here, but not in the very recent set with the Drowned -

Doesn‘t exactly sound like the August wave will deliver on that -

You‘re raising an interesting point here, the set neither includes an open-winged Hedwig nor does it make sense for Nearly Headless Nick to be displayed there -

Couldn't agree more. I've now made my peace with the still ongoing lack of DH sets, but I still can't help but feel somewhat robbed. Picture my disappointment back in 2011 when only two sets based on DH Part 2 were released and not a single one based on Part 1. Moreover, I didn't feel that these two sets captured the films all that well. The Harry minifigs for instance never felt like the DH version to me (which isn't surprising considering they didn't change the face print between versions as they do now). The concept art of the Malfoy Manor set that leaked a couple years was just salt in the wound Fast forward to when the 2018 GH set was revealed at NYTF. Seeing how much better they managed to capture the individual movies this time round was just amazing. I thought they might finally do these two films justice, but alas... I'm trying to look forward to the August wave, even though nothing we've heard so far sounds encouraging -

I rarely actively hate LEGO sets (if ever), but this I would. Not only would it be a waste of a D2C set, there wouldn't be a way to display that in any reasonable fashion -

There's four of them: a fire station with Mickey (firefighter), Minnie (firefighter), Goofy, and Pluto a plane with Mickey (pilot) an ice cream shop with Minnie and Daisy (both with the same style of cloth skirt as in the Disney Train set) a rocket with Mickey (astronaut), Minnie (astronaut), a brick-built alien, and some kryptonite. Didn't know Mickey works for Lex Luthor, that fiend And there seems to be a new "hidden Mickey" mould -

More of the same then What's the point of splitting them into two waves I wonder? Waves consisting of 8 sets are not unheard of -

We don't usually get to see early prototypes, mostly next-to-finished ones (which are the ones in the catalogues). The GH on display at NYTF 2018 was an earlier prototype that somehow made it to the show floor. If I recall correctly, they said the Dueling Club section was an idea that got scratched fairly early-on, which is why the designers were surprised to see that version on display -
Latest news about Lego animal moulds
BrickBob Studpants replied to Roebuck's topic in Special LEGO Themes
The new Mickey & Friends sets surprisingly turned out to be minifig-scaled ones rather than Duplo sets, so we're getting our first minifig-scale Pluto I think that should count as a new animal mould- 5,845 replies
