  1. We just have to be patient, guys I know I’m not the best role model in this regard, but we should try to forget about that wave for now and instead focus on the sets we do know about, especially with more potential minifig leaks on the horizon At least now that we know the sets will probably be pretty rubbish by this theme’s standards, we won’t be as disappointed when we finally get more information. Imagine if @Guyon2002 and @Falconfan1414 didn’t warn us about that wave. We’d still be expecting the exact same things for months probably, only to have our hopes crushed by a set list. This way, we’re at least prepared
  2. Yeah, it wouldn’t make much sense to remove the minifig (although I wouldn’t mind if it gets replaced by a more interesting minifig or an additional Darktrooper). Besides, the option to recast the character is still on the table
  3. Well, it’s certainly not Gringotts, since that‘s what almost everyone wanted The second most popular idea was Hogsmeade, and that’s out of the picture as well. So it has to be something nobody had on their radar before, like the suggested UCS Hogwarts Express This is the level of nonsense I would have expected from Star Wars or Marvel. I still like both of these themes of course, but we’re used to disappointment there I held HP to a completely different standard, which probably was a mistake. Well, never again. HP, you were supposed to destroy them, not join them!
  4. The problem here is that @Guyon2002 knows exactly want most people wanted or expected in this wave, so him telling all of us to lower our expectations doesn’t bode well. Remember what he said about the June wave shortly before the descriptions got leaked, that he wasn’t that keen on some of the sets, but a lot of us would be happy (meaning the people who wanted a CoS remake, Basilisk, Fluffy, polyjuiced characters, and Hogsmeade). Correct me if I’m wrong, but to me this indicates that (almost) none of us will be happy with the August wave. My money is on unnecessary remakes (PS Hagrid’s hut, UCS Hogwarts Express, Quidditch patch, Snape’s classroom, Hogwarts expansion we already have)
  5. According to Itaria they were, just without pictures And codenames of course
  6. I don’t mind more PS/CoS stuff (even though they’re overrepresented as is), but couldn’t they wait until after a proper DH wave? Are the designers just playing favourites here?
  7. Pfff. I thought the June wave was just the appetiser, but now it sounds more like it’s the main course & dessert at once, while the August wave is the disgusting leftovers nobody wants Am I overreacting again? Of course I’m joking with my silly analogies, but now two trusted leakers/informants tell us to keep expectations low. That sounds pretty alarming to me
  8. Any idea when we might get some info though? Hopefully within a month or so? HP has been my favorite theme in a long time and the thought of it dropping from the height it's been up until now to the level of Star Wars in its mixed-baginess is just painful. Although that's probably on us, that'll teach us for putting that much trust into a theme
  9. That would indeed suck. These two are already massively overrepresented compared to every other film, this doesn't need to get worse
  10. It's pretty sad to know a wave will be disappointing, but having no idea in which way Without going into specifics, can you compare the level of disappointment to another wave of LEGO sets from any theme? (Please don't say 1HY 2021 Star Wars )
  11. Hm, that doesn't sound good at all. Maybe they do pull a Star Wars and it's just full of unnecessary remakes Then it's probably just better to pretend this wave doesn't exist for the time being, saves us the disappointment
  12. In regards to DH specifically or in general?
  13. Hey, don't forget good ol' UCS Dobby's sock An anti-wishlist is probably not a bad idea, far less potential for disappointment So what I don't want to see is a Hogwarts Express for the $250 slot and the Durmstrang ship for the $120 slot. Oh, and please no remakes of anything post-2018 yet. As I've said before, a Hogwarts Express D2C has next to no potential for interesting minifigs and while the Durmstrang ship would definitely have that, it's screentime (or rather lack thereof) is what kills it for me.
  14. Don't underestimate these two properties, a lot of people still care about the Burton films and 60s show (and the TDK trilogy of course), at least far more than the Snyderverse, which will probably be quickly gone from public consciousness after the Synder Cut gets unleashed upon the world Besides, the 60's Batcave and the Burtonmobile were both celebrating the anniversary of the respective property, so you can't really fault TLG for capitalising on that
  15. Yeah, you're right. I've been on the DH train from the very beginning, but of course there's no guarantee, neither for multiple DH sets nor a Gringotts D2C. My earlier reactions show what happens when you set yourself up for disappointment, my apologies. I will look at what the rest of the year brings with more of an open mind
  16. Maybe it's Itaria? He has seen a May-August retail catalogue and the JW sets weren't in there, but neither were the Star Wars or Mario sets, which are definitely August releases (as far as we know). TLG themselves seem to be confused about certain release dates this year
  17. I don't think anybody knows for certain at this point. If there isn't another Hogwarts expansion among the four other sets, we'll have to wait until next year to find out. My personal guess is that it's just for the anniversary sets
  18. Very unlikely. We have zero confirmed leaks and if it wasn't for our trusted informants, we wouldn't even know this thing existed. Sure, TLG has gotten better at keeping D2C sets a secret, but not THAT good
  19. You can thank AT&T for that Agreed, especially since she's the only character from the pack that hasn't reappeared anywhere else thus far (if you count the Boggart as a Snape variant of course)
  20. Agreed. I was merely surprised at how vehemently they denied it, rather than just saying 'no comment' or 'it's in the earliest of stages' or something like that Reminds me of Tom Holland's Spider-man 3 shenanigans This will never stop being funny to me. WB executive: "Should we sell the streaming rights to HP?" Other WB executive: "Sure, it's not like we'll have our own streaming service one day" *HBOmax comes into existence* "Well, fudge." Same goes for the Amazon LOTR series, I'm sure it would be in development for HBOmax instead if WB had some foresight
  21. A Hogwarts Express D2C set also wouldn't have any potential for interesting minifigs, so hard pass from me on that front as well Of course I'd buy it regardless, being a completionist (sort of), but only begrudgingly I think they're denying pretty hard that any such plans currently exist
  22. Sure, but the further we get away from the original waves, the more likely remakes become, making sets based on untouched material more unlikely overall. If they have to decide in 2023 whether they're going to release, let's say the Lovegood's house and a remake of Hagrid's hut, it's not hard to predict which one they'll go for Falconfan is a very reliable source. The DC D2C set is slated for November, so it shouldn't be much of a surprise that not a lot of details are currently known, even among the leakers.
  23. Not only would I not like it, I'd downright HATE it. This isn't Star Wars, no need to remake everything every 2-3 years What next, remakes of the Quidditch set, Hagrid's Hut and the Knight Bus? I definitely agree with the people that want this theme to end in 2022 or so, before it turns into a never-ending cycle of remakes
  24. I hope the new style stays exclusive to the anniversary sets. The old sets were neat back in the day, but just look horrible by today’s standards There’s a fine line between “retro” and “outdated”
  25. Nobody said or implied the theme was dying, my comparison with LOTR was more about ignoring stuff rather than ending the theme prematurely, sorry if my intention was unclear Speaking of which: if we do get the Durmstrang ship, that would be another parallel to LOTR (you know, ignoring a climactic battle in favour of a boat )
