Harry Potter 2021 - Rumors & Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
The review embargo has been lifted as brickset, brothers brick, and @Ashnflash (among others) have published their respective reviews of the Icons collection Still looks just as impressive, can’t wait to get my hands on it -

I’ve had the exact same issue. The solution is rather simple: just completely restart your device (smartphone or iPad). Afterwards, it should work just fine -

They mean December 2022 Brickfanatics’ EOL list is split into two parts, one for Dec 2021 and the other Dec 2022 -

Funny how SW, which is usually among the first themes to have set lists leaked, is now one of the few 2022 themes we haven’t heard anything about yet (the others being Creator, Technic, Disney, and HP) Don’t let the youtube hatemongers catch wind of it -

Why not just redesign Boggart Snape? -

BrickBob Studpants replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
True, but the point still stands that all of the Bricktober minifigs apart from Boggart Snape already got remade (albeit with different costumes), so it's not unreasonable to assume that this one may get the same treatment at some point Change the torso print, recolour the Lone Ranger bird to reddish brown and voilà, new version Same goes for the other 2018 Bricktober minifigs, every single one of them has been remade in regular sets -

Nope, I adore the new D2C set Thing is, my initial dissatisfaction with this year’s sets was solely stemming from my expectations, not what the sets actually are. I used to dislike the idea of a collection of buildable items mainly because it meant that Gringotts wasn’t coming. That said, the result is so stunning it won me over in a heartbeat -

Nah, still heavily dislike that idea I'd rather have three D2C sets like this year's opposed to a Quidditch D2C -

It’s SW-themed, that much is certain, because the results of the vote were officially announced. The specific character however is currently unknown, at least to my knowledge Personally, I hope it’s Obi-Wan, since he’s the most important character that’s still missing in Brickhead form (the runner-ups being Padmé and The Senate) -
Marvel Superheroes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Exactly. The numbering for the Mickey & Friends theme was so weird that everyone first thought they were Duplo sets. So it looks like they’re now back to give 4+ sets their own separate set number range after they’ve shared their respective themes’ regular set numbers for a couple of years. Sort of backpedalling to Juniors without using that name -

LEGO World Club and jedijacpenguin provide us with the following set list for early 2022: 21177: tbd Minecraft Desert 2022 21178: tbd Minecraft Foe 2022 21179: tbd Minecraft Mooshroom 2022 21180: tbd Minecraft Underwater 2022 21181: tbd Minecraft Bunny 2022 21183: tbd Minecraft Dire Cave 2022 Not overly specific, but these could be very interesting. Another desert set is long overdue (especially if it’s a temple) and new sets featuring Mooshroom and bunnies are not unwelcomed. For the latter, I hope a big bunny build is included to complement the sheep and chicken builds we’ve gotten before. The last one is probably misspelled and should read Deep Cave instead, or at least that’s what I hope -

According to LEGO World Club & jedijacpenguin, we can look forward to 7 new sets in early 2022, the set numbers being 71396 through 71402. No names or piece counts, but I think we can expect the line-up to be similar to this year’s with at least one costume and a character series -

No, but Land- and Snowspeeders tend to get remade in rather quick succession, even more so than other popular sets I agree with @Alex though, I wouldn't mind too much if new windshield pieces were involved. Then again, they could release the blue Landspeeder from Mando instead I think you're right, it was indeed a bit later last year, but that was unusually late as opposed to this year being unusually early Set lists popping up in August has always been the norm, with a few outliers in either direction (1HY 2016 being so ridiculously early that a lot of people, myself included, completely dismissed the list at first) -

The same 2022 list is making the rounds again, this time with set numbers for the 4 alleged 4+ sets: 10781 through 10784. Not sure how believable this information is -

There’s two even more obvious tells: It’s the very first post on that account This couldn’t possibly be a 1HY list They’re somehow getting better and worse at the same time. Better in that they don’t post thinly-disguised wishlists any more, but worse because they still make the same basic mistakes -

Couldn't agree more. The more varied the line-up, the better Let's hope then that the 1HY 2022 offerings are as far removed from the 1HY 2021 sets as possible in terms of set choices. Remakes are inevitable, but they could at least give us some interesting minifigs to make up for that, which the 1HY 2021 sets utterly failed to do. Oh, and the glorious return of the BPs of course. And please, for the sake of everything that is holy, no Snowspeeder or Landspeeder Not sure if they're able to resist the urge though -
Harry Potter 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

Me too. Since we shouldn't expect DH sets or a Gringotts D2C, I think the 2022 line-up will include the following: a wave of Hogwarts Moments sets with new classrooms a remake of a set released in the previous iterations (Shrieking Shack, 2nd task, and the PS troll scene being the most obvious choices) a remake of an already remade set (e.g. Hagrid's Hut, but based on the PS version, which I'd be okay with under the condition that Fang is included) an entirely new set based on either PoA, GoF, OotP, or HBP a castle section in the new style one or two FB3 sets another AC multiple buildable creatures and objects (Niffler anyone?) CMF S3 with some DH representation Any objections? -

It’s not about the numbers, but the differences between people that register their collections on brickset and people that don’t. A sample needs to be somewhat representative of the population, otherwise you can’t generalise your findings. It’s a common issue when researching motivation for instance, people who participate in a survey may differ in important aspects from people that don’t, creating a sampling bias that threaten the validity of your results. Similarly, AFOLs aren’t representative of the consumers as a whole in their spending habits, which is why it’s tricky to draw any conclusions based on that data alone. It’s part of the big picture, sure, but only a small portion of it Objection, this is mere conjecture You can be passionate about something and still make mistakes -

No offense, but that line of thinking always cracks me up. “I’m a fan, and thus I understand [movie/book/game/character/product] better than the people that created it” is not as compelling of an argument as you may think You keep bringing up brickset, but it’s not a valid indicator for overall success. First off, not every AFOL/TFOL is registered on that website and secondly (and more importantly), the AFOL/TFOL community is only a small fraction of the consumer base. You can’t generalise the results on brickset, all it tells you is the success of the set within a portion of the AFOL/TFOL community -

On the Internet at large perhaps, but I don’t recall anyone in this thread making such statements For the record, I’m not an OT, PT, or ST fan. I’m a Star Wars fan. I don’t care about eras, fandom wars, and the toxic ‘us vs them’ mentality. If it’s SW, I’ll watch it That said, there’s definitely stuff still missing across the entire franchise that I find inexcusable myself. Yet, you don’t see me calling people idiots for not releasing it or pretending to be a victim. -

This entire discussion reeks of entitlement. “They’re idiots for not releasing what I feel entitled to”. Incredibly mature, I have to say. You PT hardcores do realise that incessant whining and constantly painting yourselves as victims doesn’t help your cause in any way, shape, or form, right? You want more PT sets? Then vote with your wallets, go out and buy the ones currently available The new set list definitely can’t arrive soon enough
