Harry Potter 2021 - Rumors & Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Aka the only interesting one Moody and Trelawney are almost 100% downgrades from their CMF S1 counterparts and the remaining characters are the usual suspects anyway (plus some generic students in the suitcase set) -

It’s not a theory, they’ve confirmed it‘s actually part of the contract: “Any time any toy company works with a licence partner, it’s through a contract,” he explains. “Simply put, the contract that we have with Lucasfilm and Disney is to develop construction toys. We can include minifigures in our construction sets, because that’s part of the play experience, but we do not have a licence to develop action figures.” https://www.brickfanatics.com/lego-responds-to-rumours-over-star-wars-minifigure-licensing-rights/ The May the Fourth minifig polybags were exempt from this rule because they were promotional items, in case you‘re wondering. Same principle applies to books and other gear -

We‘ve had next to no catalogue leaks for a couple of years (between 2017 and 2020, IIRC). I was pretty impressed they even came back last year Sure, someone could leak them again, but it‘s not that likely given the punishment that awaits the leaker. It‘s not worth hurting business relations (and maybe even be fined for breaking an NDA) over 10 minutes of Internet fame -

Don‘t forget that the source that leaked the catalogue got burned because their watermark was all over the pictures. I highly doubt they‘ll ever get their hands on a catalogue again Same goes for the source that provided the 2HY pictures -

Too early for the latter, unless a brave soul wants to destroy their business relations with TLG The watermarks in the catalogues seem to work, for the most part -

Not too sure whether to expect sets or not… I mean, they‘d have to be released in February or March to tie in with the film, unless the new date was decided so recently that TLG couldn‘t adjust their schedule accordingly -

I also hope Battinson gets a new cowl piece. Nothing else in these sets absolutely requires new moulds, so this shouldn‘t break the budget -

Um, I did say „personally“ though Not in the traditional sense, as those will most likely include named characters primarily -

Are the three sets really all that‘s left? Pretty weird wave with only one MF and one BP -
Jurassic World 2021 - Rumors & Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Only if you ignore the LEGO movies, those had all even more sets But still a valid point, no other „third-party“ movie has ever had that many sets in one wave. The theme must sell pretty well then -

Not when you’re a semi-completionist like me I’m not a completionist in the strictest sense as I only try to complete my collection in a reasonable manner, so without purchasing ludriculously expensive sets I skipped back in the day (e.g. the AT-OT and Dropship which I couldn’t afford back then) or notoriously hard-to-get SDCC exclusives. Whatever they put out that I can get, I will get Let’s hope they’re right Depends on whether they‘re talking about the builds or the minifigs. The former is easier to achieve than the latter, that‘s for sure -

It was indeed a new minifig, but I wouldn’t call it “exciting”, personally These are all 1HY rumours -
Lego Minecraft 2021- Rumours and Discussions

Interesting, so some of the names seem to have changed a bit. If the initial list is still to be believed, then the Creeper Ambush is set in the desert and the Training Ground is cave-related And I hope they realised their mistake with the last fox and gave it a proper new mould, rather than reusing the cat head mould again -

That is one big pile of sets So there always must’ve been a 2022 wave planned, can’t imagine all of this plus the CC sets being initially intended to be released in the same year -

I do realise that I’ve been contributing to the negativity here as well, but as a minifig fan it’s just tiring to see a wave with this little potential for anything new (be it variants or characters). This is the main reason I roll my eyes every time an OT set gets revealed I like the films as much as the next guy and never minded the onslaught of remakes in the past, but now we’re at a point where it’s almost impossible to find any exciting new minifigs in OT sets. The only notable exceptions in the last few years were the Cantina aliens and Zuckuss (please correct me if I forgot someone). So if the Yoda and Death Star sets are OT after all, they’re disappointing to me by default since none of the related scenes include anything that hasn’t been done yet, at least minifig-wise -

Or maybe Boba’s so badass in the new show that he first gets trained by force ghost Yoda and then duels someone in the ruins of the Death Star -

At least it means we’re probably getting a new helmet mould out of it Rhino Guy or Girl for CMF S22 or 23, anyone? -

That does sound intriguing... Maybe I was too quick to judge the sets after all Not too sure what the Yoda set could be based on apart from the TESB training scenes though His arc in S6 of TCW isn’t exactly set material, and neither is the scene in AOTC of him training younglings. Or could it be like the Freemakers sets? -
Super Mario 2021 - Rumors & Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Price points for the Mario sets, according to brickmerge.de: 71396: €9.99 (must be another suit) 71397: €24.99 71398: €29.99 71399: €39.99 71400: €59.99 71401: €79.99 71402: €3.99 (has to be S4) Looks VERY similar to this year’s 1HY selection, in terms of price points. 71401 could be another expansion-style set, hopefully with a new Koopaling included, or better yet, two. Otherwise we’ll never complete them -

So far, it really is the only interesting set. Let‘s hope it actually includes anything new minifig-wise, unlike the first Mando set this year How many sets remain now, like 2 or 3? -
